Jordan centers her life on family and the memories shared along many different childhood
journey's and experiences. Recalling times shared with her family on vacations to the Dominican
Republic she remembered vividly "major sunburned, to the extreme of third degree burns, and not
being able to go outside for the rest of the trip". Jordan holds dear the life lessons taught by her
parents that have helped make her life easier. Her greatest lessons learned from her parents was
through her words, "is to spend money on the place where you live instead of things that are
temporary. Live where you want to be and invest the money and time necessary to build a
comfortable living." She loved creating these memories among being with her relatives and...show

At this age she didn't even have a nervous bone in her body, she stated "I was too young and naive
to the audition process to be nervous." She further stated about her audition process now, "Since then
though, the audition process has become one of the scariest parts of my love for theater." Jordan's
love for theater came from the sense of loving to entertain others and see them smile from the
antics of the stage. The reason why theater became her undying passion for life is, in her words,
"...it gave me the confidence that I have today, I love singing and entertaining people and I also
love participating in the stories of other people." She finds motivation and joy in seeing others
laugh and cry through the emotion of playing characters from various storylines and, in a way,
become that person from the fictional story. Theater is such a deep passion of Jordan's that she
obtained her bachelor's degree in Theater Direction. She mentioned some of her successes
through her action career "..we have won several awards and becoming a local staple in the San
Diego theater scene." Naming a few, a well renowned theater festival held in the San Diego called
Fringe festival, her theater company created a spoof musical on the musical arrangement of Les
Miserable, and to the story of The Hobbit, calling it Les Midge. They won "Outstanding Direction"
and "Best Musical" within the whole festival of over 50 entrants of various theater

Michael Jordan was one of five children born to James and Delores Jordan. He was born February
17, 1963 in Brooklyn. His parents felt that the streets of Brooklyn were unsafe to raise a young
family. So instead of trying to endure the streets of Brooklyn, the Jordan family moved to
Wilmington, North Carolina. Michael's father, James, got a job in Wilmington as a mechanic and
his mother Delores got a job as a teller at United Carolina Bank.
Michael always had an eye for baseball. He played as an outfielder and as a pitcher. When he was
twelve, he was the top player in his league. By the age of fifteen, he wasn't the star in baseball as he

Is Michael Jordan the G.O.A.T?
Is Michael Jordan the Greatest of all Time, I think so and if you don't you should. Michael Jordan
went to College at North Carolina for three years, and was one of the best or probably the best
player in college basketball. During that time in college Jordan carried the Tar Heels to the 1982
NCAA Championship, and earned College Player of the Year in 1984. Jordan averaged 17.7 points
per game in the three season before he thought he was ready for the National Basketball Association.

In the first round of the playoffs the Bulls lost to the Celtics. Even though Michael was injured he
was still voted to the NBA All Star game but could not play because of his injury. Now what do you
think, you should think Michael Jordan is the G.O.A.T because Kobe again lost in the off season to
the Utah Jazz in four games with Shaq, also Lebron didn't even make the playoffs. In 1887 the
Bulls acquired Scottie Pippen and Horace Grant 2 very young talented rookies to help Jordan, this
season Michael made it past the first round of the playoffs beating the Cavaliers in 5 games but
then ended up getting bested by the Detroit Pistons in 5 games. Jordan took home every major
honor, he won his first Most Valuable Player, first Defensive Player of the Year, was voted for the
All–NBA First Team, The All Star game Most Valuable Player, and the NBA Slam Dunk Contest
winner. This was Jordan's first amazing explosive season where he started becoming the G.O.A.T.
1988–89 season Jordan was again the NBA's leading scorer and this time the Bulls made it to to
Conference Finals for the 3rd time ever. In the First round of the playoffs Chicago beat the
Cavaliers in 5 games, in the second round they beat the Knicks and advanced to the Finals against
the Detroit Pistons where they were bested in 5 games. In 1989–90 Phil Jackson became the Head

Michael Jordan is arguably the best athlete to ever step foot on a basketball court. He is still one
of the most popular athletes in the world. This was because he was a hard worker on and off the
court. Jordan was also looked at as an icon because he was an African American that was changing
the National Basketball Association (NBA) by breaking records and developing new styles of play.
His accomplishments began to produce many opportunities for other professional athletes, especially
African Americans. Michael Jordan paved the way for professional African American athletes by
changing the way basketball was played, increasing the popularity of the National Basketball
Association, and by landing sponsorship deals. Michael Jordan began...show more content...
Critics soon realized that Jordan did not let racist remarks define his career. Instead Jordan worked
harder and dominated his competition no matter their ethnicity. Michael Jordan single–handedly
increased the popularity of the National Basketball Association. "He is also the most effectively
marketed athlete of his generation, helping pave the way for the globalization of professional
basketball and the megastar athletes everywhere" (Belzer). Jordan was extremely important to
the success of the NBA. The NBA's game attendance increased with Jordan's help. Fans from all
over the world traveled to the United States just to see Michael Jordan play. They enjoyed
watching his flashy style of play. Although his shooting and passing was flashy, his play was
rarely sloppy. Jordan was in the top ten for turnovers committed for only four years of his career.
He finished his career 30th overall in turnover, which was impressive considering how much he
had the ball during the game. Other athletes that attempted to play on Jordan's level ended up
failing because of lack of control on the court. Michael Jordan increased the worth of the NBA by
playing the game his own way. Jordan did not only influence the athletes he played with, but he
influenced the younger generations. "Ever since his emergence as a star for the Chicago Bulls, kids
have been striving to 'be like Mike,'

December 21, 1891– The birth of basketball. It has been changed from simply shooting a soccer
ball into a peach basket to dunking a seven pound, leather ball into an iron rim. In the early years
of the game, basketball was not as popular as other sports. In the 1985 NBA draft all this would
change with the emergence of a 6'6" basketball phenomenon from Wilmington, North Carolina.
Although going third in the draft, he recreated the game and is known as the best player to ever
touch a basketball; he is Michael Jordan.

Basketball Camp. There he met Dean Smith, the coach of the University of North Carolina's Tar

play in the NCAA championship against Georgetown University. Jordan hit the game winning shot

that would soon be changed (Mattern 82–28). During his first season with the bulls, Michael became

Michael Jordan Essay On Basketball
Michael Jordan was a great basketball player, but he was not the best athlete of all time. He
played two professional sports, he played baseball and basketball, and he was great at basketball
but not so great at baseball. Michael was a really famous athlete and he was among the best, but he
was not the best.
There are a lot of great athletes in all sports such as basketball, baseball, football, etc. When you hear
about players in some of the sports, names such as Michael Jordan, Babe Ruth, and Tom Brady
come to mind. A lot of people are forgetting about a couple other athletes that are just as good, if
not better. For example, John Stockton comes to my mind for basketball because he was without a
doubt the smartest and most brilliant player to ever play the game of basketball.
There are lots of different sports, there are probably over one hundred different sports and lots of
different players that play them. If Michael Jordan was to play against Tom Brady in football, he
would not stand a chance, therefore you can say that Michael is not the best athlete of all time.
Michael played two different sports but he is not the greatest athlete of all time because there were
a lot of baseball players that were way better than Michael was.
In the NBA, which Michael was famous for playing, there are five major statistics. These statistics
include points, blocks, steals, assists, and rebounds. In the game of basketball to be good at all of
these statistics is a huge accomplishment.

most popular athlete in America and perhaps the best–known figure in the world. I have chosen to

That same summer, after the Bulls had been bounced from the playoffs, Jordan took his Father,
Shiver, Whitfield and Kearns on a 10–day cross–country trip, which was paid by Jordan.
"Once you are friends with him he really works at keeping that friendship and nursing
that friendship," Higgins says.
Michael is a talented person that has achieved many dreams that he might have thought was
impossible. Jordan's goal is to buy a basketball team when he retires from basketball this year.
Jordan along with Master P, wants to buy the Charlotte Hornets but this is still uncertain. Jordan not
only is a talented athlete but he is a scholar. Jordan graduated from North Carolina State University
with a degree in a Cultural Geography. It seemed almost useful field of studies for a young man
who sensed that he might soon be touring the country or at least its airport, arenas and hotels, as a
professional ballplayer.
Jordan is a friendly and outgoing person. The reason I say this is because as far as the way he
interacts with others Deloris Jordan says, "He was the most outgoing of her children, the
one who liked people more." Fred Whitfield, a friend of Jordan states, "He's
easy to talk to, easy to laugh and joke around with.

"Remember guys, it is not the end of the world. Michael Jordan got cut from his high school
basketball team. And look at him now." There were so many emotions flowing through body
upon hearing the coach say this. I could feel the anger pulsing through my veins. I deserved a
spot. I was one of the best players out there on the court. I could feel the dark storm cloud of
sadness hovering over me, making me feel as if I was a failure. Finally, I had a sense of humor
about the situation. This was not the humor that brings people joy, but the kind people feel when
they have to deal with someone who had made a hysterically idiotic decision, and on top of that try

just a failure for me. I had worked so hard, giving up my time during recess and after school to go
shoot. I went into that tryout with confidence, and I truly felt I worked harder than anyone in that
gym. While the coach went through all of us who would not be playing on the top squad, I heard
him say to many "I'm sorry, you lack this certain skill, try working on it and I hope to see
improvement." When he got to me, I spoke first. "What do I need to improve on coach?" A
million thoughts came into my head of what he possibly could have responded with, and I tried
to deny every single one. I was an intelligent, pass first point guard who played well on both sides
of the ball. I could shoot and rebound and run as well as any sixth grader could. "Nothing TJ. And I
know everyone needs work, but you're a great player. I just think you need to embrace a leadership

eventually cleared. These events eventually caused Jordan to lose his motivation and the sense of
having to prove something as a basketball player, and he felt it was time to step away from the
court. Jordan sought a new challenge to play professional baseball. He signed a minor league
contract with the Chicago White Sox. He was assigned to the Birmingham Barons, and played an
outfielder position. His presence in the minors grew large numbers in attendance, but Jordan's
batting was uncharacteristic of his athletic skills. In his first summer with the Barons, he batted
.202 with 114 strikeouts in 127 games. On March 18, 1995, Jordan announced that he would be
playing basketball again. He ended his short baseball career and rejoined the Bulls near the end of
the 1994–1995 regular season, eventually losing to the Orlando Magic in the Eastern Conference
Semifinals. Jordan once again had something to prove to the world, that he was still the greatest
basketball player to ever play the game, and that he would be even greater in the season to come.

Michael Jordan, in his prime, was thought of as one of the greatest basketball champions of all time.

To be able to keep composure and focus on one shot under those types of conditions is not an easy
task. Amazingly, he made clutchshots time and time again for the Bulls. Being able to think and
react in highly pressured situations for James on the other hand, has not been accomplished. I
have seen James, with the ball in the final seconds of the game, and he was unable to hit the
winning shot. You can see the pressure all over his face. He does not have the ability to plan and
if necessary, counter plan under extreme conditions. A good example is in this past year's
Olympics he clearly did not play like a champion. When the team was down, he didn't try to take
the game over like a champion would. When looking at Jordan and James' fame, they are both
equally popular, but it is how they handle the fame that sets them apart. Jordan is a class act,
meaning he carries himself with honorable pride, not vanity. After Jordan signed with Nike his
game only got better. He never felt as if he was too good for improvement and showed everyone
great respect. James differs after he signed with Nike, his game flat–lined. He never showed any
kind of improvement in his game, and his team never got any better. It seemed like he only tried
when he had the ball, especially when his team was getting blown out. A champion should never be

Michael Jordan Biography Essay
Michael Jordan is one of the best NBA players of all time. This is my biography about him.
Michael Jeffrey Jordan was born February 17, 1963 in Brooklyn, New York. Michael Jordan
went to Laney High School in Wilmington, North Carolina. This is where Michael started his
long basketball journey. But he didn't try to make the team until his sophomore year where he
didn't even make the varsity team. When he didn't make the team he was very embarrassed, which
lead him to be determined to make the very next year. So in the next summer Michael trained all
summer long, where he also grew from being 5'11 to being 6'3. All of this paid off as he made the
team that year and took the famous number 23 because it was half of his brother Larry's number
which...show more content...
At the start of the season in his freshman year he didn't do very good as he was very nervous, but
after he got over his nervousness he was a very good player. One of the best starters in the starting
lineup, which had two kids James Worthy and Sam Perkins that had very good NBA careers. It
was only three games into his college career that Jordan really made his mark as it was his first
really good game against the number ninth ranked Tulsa Golden Hurricanes, as he lead the team
with 22 points. Michael became a fan favorite very fast because of his great plays and amazing
dunks. Michael was even becoming a favorite from his teammates as North Carolina's starting point
guard Jimmy Black said "Michael could do it all–score, defend, block shots, rebound, and even
"quarterback" the team." according to Michael Jordan Modern Role Models.
North Carolina had a very good season with all three of their stars going 12–2. Which was good
enough to make the NCAA playoffs also known as March Madness, where they made it all the way
to the finals where they faced the Georgetown Hoyas. In the finals North Carolina pulled off the
win as the score was 63–62 where Michael hit the game winning shot at the buzzer to give them the

Michael Jeffrey Jordan, third son of Delores and James Jordan, was born on February 17th 1963
in Brooklyn, NY. As a child Michael was not a very focused individual. This all changed after
moving from Brooklyn to Wilmington N.C.. Michael began attending Emsley A. Laney High
School. He became a B + student and excelled as an athlete in football, basketball, and baseball.
In the fall of his sophomore year at Laney High school 5 foot 9 Michael was cut from the varsity
basketball team. Instead of MJ the coach elected to go with height instead of quickness. From the
beginning of the season where he was cut, Michael grew 5 inches before the beginning of the next

This year was also what Jordan called a "turning point in his career". 1982 NCAA Championship
Jordan found himself with the ball and seconds left on the clock. Jordan hit the game winning shot
against the Georgetown Hoyas. Although Jordan wasn't the best player on the team he never let
that bother him. Jordan broke out to a huge season his junior year when he won both the Wooden
and Naismith College player of the year awards, and also helped the USA Olympic team capture
gold in the 1984. Jordan never played his senior season at UNC. Jordan went on to enter the NBA
draft.
Michael was selected 3rd overall in the 1984 NBA draft by the Chicago Bulls. Again although
Jordan wasn't selected first overall he did not let that get in the way. Jordan started like a fire
cracker and never let up. Averaging 28.2 points per game as a rookie along with 2.4 steals, 6.5
rebounds, and 5.9 assists, Jordan went on to win rookie of the year, and to start in the All–Star game.
The next season would be Jordan's worst. Three games into the fresh season Jordan went down with
a broken foot. He was sidelined sixty four games, and finally returned in mid–March. In the 18
games Jordan played he posted career lows in stats. In 1986–1987 Jordan began a trend of
consecutive scoring titles that stretched over seven seasons until his surprise retirement in 1993. He
scored a career–high 37.1 points per game, and

  • 1. Essay On Jordan Jordan centers her life on family and the memories shared along many different childhood journey's and experiences. Recalling times shared with her family on vacations to the Dominican Republic she remembered vividly "major sunburned, to the extreme of third degree burns, and not being able to go outside for the rest of the trip". Jordan holds dear the life lessons taught by her parents that have helped make her life easier. Her greatest lessons learned from her parents was through her words, "is to spend money on the place where you live instead of things that are temporary. Live where you want to be and invest the money and time necessary to build a comfortable living." She loved creating these memories among being with her relatives and...show more content... At this age she didn't even have a nervous bone in her body, she stated "I was too young and naive to the audition process to be nervous." She further stated about her audition process now, "Since then though, the audition process has become one of the scariest parts of my love for theater." Jordan's love for theater came from the sense of loving to entertain others and see them smile from the antics of the stage. The reason why theater became her undying passion for life is, in her words, "...it gave me the confidence that I have today, I love singing and entertaining people and I also love participating in the stories of other people." She finds motivation and joy in seeing others laugh and cry through the emotion of playing characters from various storylines and, in a way, become that person from the fictional story. Theater is such a deep passion of Jordan's that she obtained her bachelor's degree in Theater Direction. She mentioned some of her successes through her action career "..we have won several awards and becoming a local staple in the San Diego theater scene." Naming a few, a well renowned theater festival held in the San Diego called Fringe festival, her theater company created a spoof musical on the musical arrangement of Les Miserable, and to the story of The Hobbit, calling it Les Midge. They won "Outstanding Direction" and "Best Musical" within the whole festival of over 50 entrants of various theater Get more content on HelpWriting.net

His parents felt that the streets of Brooklyn were unsafe to raise a young family. So instead of trying to endure the streets of Brooklyn, the Jordan family moved to Wilmington, North Carolina. Michael's father, James, got a job in Wilmington as a mechanic and his mother Delores got a job as a teller at United Carolina Bank. Michael always had an eye for baseball. He played as an outfielder and as a pitcher. When he was twelve, he was the top player in his league. By the age of fifteen, he wasn't the star in baseball as he once was. He was still very good, but he had lost some of his focus. Later, in his high school...show more content... • 6. Michael Jordan Essay On Basketball Michael Jordan was a great basketball player, but he was not the best athlete of all time. He played two professional sports, he played baseball and basketball, and he was great at basketball but not so great at baseball. Michael was a really famous athlete and he was among the best, but he was not the best. There are a lot of great athletes in all sports such as basketball, baseball, football, etc. When you hear about players in some of the sports, names such as Michael Jordan, Babe Ruth, and Tom Brady come to mind. A lot of people are forgetting about a couple other athletes that are just as good, if not better. For example, John Stockton comes to my mind for basketball because he was without a doubt the smartest and most brilliant player to ever play the game of basketball. There are lots of different sports, there are probably over one hundred different sports and lots of different players that play them. If Michael Jordan was to play against Tom Brady in football, he would not stand a chance, therefore you can say that Michael is not the best athlete of all time. Michael played two different sports but he is not the greatest athlete of all time because there were a lot of baseball players that were way better than Michael was. In the NBA, which Michael was famous for playing, there are five major statistics. These statistics include points, blocks, steals, assists, and rebounds. In the game of basketball to be good at all of these statistics is a huge accomplishment. Get more content on HelpWriting.net

It seemed almost useful field of studies for a young man who sensed that he might soon be touring the country or at least its airport, arenas and hotels, as a professional ballplayer. The reason I say this is because as far as the way he interacts with others Deloris Jordan says, "He was the most outgoing of her children, the one who liked people more." • 8. Essay On Michael Jordan Life "Remember guys, it is not the end of the world. Michael Jordan got cut from his high school basketball team. And look at him now." There were so many emotions flowing through body upon hearing the coach say this. I could feel the anger pulsing through my veins. I deserved a spot. I was one of the best players out there on the court. I could feel the dark storm cloud of sadness hovering over me, making me feel as if I was a failure. Finally, I had a sense of humor about the situation. Sure, the coach may have been right. It was not the end of the world. It was just a failure for me. I had worked so hard, giving up my time during recess and after school to go shoot. I went into that tryout with confidence, and I truly felt I worked harder than anyone in that gym. While the coach went through all of us who would not be playing on the top squad, I heard him say to many "I'm sorry, you lack this certain skill, try working on it and I hope to see improvement." When he got to me, I spoke first. "What do I need to improve on coach?" A million thoughts came into my head of what he possibly could have responded with, and I tried to deny every single one. I was an intelligent, pass first point guard who played well on both sides of the ball. I could shoot and rebound and run as well as any sixth grader could. "Nothing TJ. These events eventually caused Jordan to lose his motivation and the sense of having to prove something as a basketball player, and he felt it was time to step away from the court. Jordan sought a new challenge to play professional baseball. He signed a minor league contract with the Chicago White Sox. He was assigned to the Birmingham Barons, and played an outfielder position. His presence in the minors grew large numbers in attendance, but Jordan's batting was uncharacteristic of his athletic skills. In his first summer with the Barons, he batted .202 with 114 strikeouts in 127 games. On March 18, 1995, Jordan announced that he would be playing basketball again. He ended his short baseball career and rejoined the Bulls near the end of the 1994–1995 regular season, eventually losing to the Orlando Magic in the Eastern Conference Semifinals. I have seen James, with the ball in the final seconds of the game, and he was unable to hit the winning shot. You can see the pressure all over his face. He does not have the ability to plan and if necessary, counter plan under extreme conditions. A good example is in this past year's Olympics he clearly did not play like a champion. When the team was down, he didn't try to take the game over like a champion would. When looking at Jordan and James' fame, they are both equally popular, but it is how they handle the fame that sets them apart. Jordan is a class act, meaning he carries himself with honorable pride, not vanity. After Jordan signed with Nike his game only got better. He never felt as if he was too good for improvement and showed everyone great respect. James differs after he signed with Nike, his game flat–lined. He never showed any kind of improvement in his game, and his team never got any better. It seemed like he only tried when he had the ball, especially when his team was getting blown out.
