The Kiss By Kate Chopin Essay
Things and People are not always as they appear to be on the first sight that is why we have to
examine them in different ways otherwise they may mislead us. That is more then true in the short
story "The Kiss" by Kate Chopin in which she uses imagery, irony and simile to show us how
deceitful a person can be. She tells us by the actions of her characters that a person should not be
judged solely by his or her appearance or words because those things can be dangerously
misleading. All of the characters in Chopin story play their own games and in more or less visible
way try to manipulate others to achieve their own sometimes not very righteous goals, but who will
eventually succeed in realizing his desires in this world of deception and ... Show more content on

But moments later we learn that not everything went as she wanted when Harvey tells her that he
won't be meeting with her any more because he "stopped kissing women; it's dangerous". Second
little manipulator in the story is Mr. Harvey, the secret lover of Miss Nathalie whom we first meet
when he because of supposedly not seeing Mr. Brantain sitting in the shadow, gives Nattie a
passionate kiss after with shocked Brantain leaves the room and Nathalie not able to stop him
becomes furious. Harvey tries to persuade her that he did not see the other man sitting there "Hang
me if I saw him sitting there, Nattie!" but in fact he quite well knew that he is there as well as he had
to know about their talks that lasted for past two weeks. And so, the kiss was a provocation as we
see on Harvey face "a little amusement and some defiance struggling with the confusion in his face"
that meant to show Brantain that Nattie is taken and to finally force her into a situation in which she
would have to decide with whom does she want to be and for what she cares more, money or love.
Unfortunately for him she chooses money and got married whit the man who had them thus giving
Harvey no other choice then to leave her as he did not want to have an affair whit her but rather
wanted to have her

Panza Girl Manifesto
I remember the first time I was displeased by my body. I was eight years old. As I was sitting on the
edge of my bed, I lifted up my shirt and examined the little rolls of my stomach and thought, "If my
stomach was flatter, I would look much better." Thinking back about it, it seems ridiculous that an
eight year old would be worried about their weight, but it's also probably not something that's all
that rare. In Real Women Have Curves, Carmen tell Ana, "If you lost 20 pounds you would be very
beautiful" (284). Carmen makes this comment to Ana, who is now a young adult, but knowing
Carmen's character, it is probably likely that she made similar comments about her daughters' bodies
throughout their lives. I didn't have this message from coming ... Show more content on

In Beautiful Señoritas, each woman is talking about the point where she became a woman and the
Mama says, "The harassment of being a woman...So many parts to be played so many parts to be
stifled and denied" (43). This quote forced me to consider my interactions with men. There was a
boy named Aaron. We had been flirting over text for a week and I was excited to meet him in
person. Spending time with his there was no profound or instant connection, but it was nice. We
went to his room and put on a TV show. An episode and a half in I notice him keep looking at me.
Finally, I look at him when he looks at me and lean over and start kissing him. He's eager and
impatient with his kisses. Like this is the first and last time he will ever get to kiss a girl in his life
and he needs to soak it all in as quickly as possible. Kissing should be a way to have a romantic
nonverbal conversation with body movement and physical contact, but in this conversation, he was
shouting while I calmly tried to reason with him, my message was stifled under his own noise. His
hands start to probe my body as his mouth attacked mine, like my body was his specimen to explore
the parts of the female body. Of course, he had no way see the story and struggle in my stretch
marks and cellulite that I would be able to trace, but he didn't even seem to appreciate my body as

What Makes A Good Place?
On her way to her office she thinks of where they are now. They seem to be in a good place and she
is okay with that. She still wishes sometimes that he would love her as she loves him. She has
resigned herself to the fact that may never happen. It probably won't ever happen.
She enters her office and goes over to the desk. Jada starts to peruse the documents. She's unable to
concentrate though. She is still working through her issues since losing the baby. Many women go
through this and yet they seem to bounce right back. Why has it been so hard for her? What is in the
recesses of her mind? She can't move forward because of it.
Jada gets up from her desk and then goes over to the window to look outside. It's a wonderful view
of the city. She's in a building that has twelve floors and her office is on the top. It's beautiful here.
Do you want to have baby now?
Do you want to have a baby with Maxwell?
What are you afraid of?
Sadly, she didn't know the answer to these questions. She didn't know.
What was wrong with her? Maxwell is a great father and a wonderful husband. He would do right
by her and be an excellent dad to their child. The problem wasn't him it was her. What the hell is
going on in HER MIND?!
When she has her next appointment with Dr. McIntosh she would try to delve into these burning
questions.
It was Saturday and the day of the picnic. Jada had gotten up early and made a breakfast for
Maxwell. He had been running out of the

Winter Solstice Short Story
Winter Solstice was a very special time in Stormholt, with Kenna and Val's friends visiting them
every year for a grand celebration. It was cold and windy that night, and even though Kenna and Val
were having fun, they were also feeling restless. "Damn it Kenna, this dress is so itchy! I hate
having to be so formal." "I know Val, but at least I let you do your hair the way you like." With an
amorous look, Kenna eyed Val up and down. "You're not wearing anything underneath that dress are
you, Val?" Grinning at Kenna, Val nodded, "You know me too well. But I'm pretty sure it's not just
me." "I guess you'll have to find out later." As Val observed the way Kenna's hair flowed in the
wind, she had a hard time concentrating on anything else. "... and that's how I invented plumbing.
I... Val! Are you even listening?" "What? Oh yeah, very funny, Whitlock." "Val! It's not supposed to
be funny, it's supposed to be interesting!" "Ok, then it's really interesting," Val said with her eyes
locked on Kenna, not fully aware of what she was even saying. "Ugh, I don't know why I try with
you, maybe Lia will be more considerate." With that, Whitlock walked off, leaving Val alone with
her wife. "Kenna, this shouldn't be possible, but when you're bathed in moonlight, you're even more
beautiful." Placing her hand on Val's thigh, Kenna smiled and gave her a kiss. "Funny, I was just
thinking the same thing about you, my gorgeous wife." Kenna looked around to see if anyone was
paying attention to them.

Personal Narrative-Gay Marriage
I don't want to worry Dask, but I have no idea what I'm doing. I mean, how does a guy even be
boyfriends with another guy?
Lying on my bed, I was trying to read a book we'd been assigned for English, but the trouble was, I
kept reading the same paragraph over and over and it still wasn't making sense to me. My mind kept
drifting off to think about him.
We'd been together for two weeks, and while it was great to be able to make out with him regularly
and it was awesome to know he liked me a lot, I have to say it felt a little strange too.
With Kelly, she'd hug me and I'd kiss her when I saw her and we'd hold hands sometimes at school.
With Dask, instead of feeling like I should go hold his hand and kiss him on the cheek to greet him

I didn't have a problem with that, but sometimes I wondered if I was meant to do something else
too.
Sometimes I'd see Clara shooting me dirty looks and I'd wonder if I was doing something wrong, or
I'd see Dask get a slight crinkle between his brows like he was bothered by something, but it would
be there no longer than a second before it was gone.
I kept forgetting to ask him if anything was wrong because we didn't seem to get enough time
together these days, and when we did, we were all over each other.
I looked down at the book in my hands, Hamlet. What was it with Shakespeare and schools? Even I
could spell better than him. Also, a play is even more difficult to read, for me anyway.
"Jo?"
My head whipped towards the bedroom door to see Dask there standing in the archway.
My brain went blank for a moment. What was he doing here? I felt like I'd conjured him up from
nowhere by thinking about

Alex Summers x Reader
Note: it was really hot last night and I was thinking about alex summers and this happened
The heat wave that seemed to crash through the mansion today was possibly the worst you've ever
experienced, your clothes stuck to your skin, you're pretty sure you've never sweated this much in
your life. You had high hopes throughout the day that it might get cooler, that maybe the heat would
lighten up when the sun set, but it just seemed to get worse as the day passed. Matters seemed to get
worse when the windows were open and you were getting ready for bed, you sat hopeful on the
edge of the bed waiting for a breeze to pass through, but you had no luck. Alex and you were forced

You were yelling at him as his body enveloped yours, hugging you tightly to him and the skin on
skin contact made you heat up in more ways than you already were as you felt the warmness of his
skin and you feel like you're gonna have a great stroke any minute. Alex holds you to him as your
head is pressed against his chest, your groaning from the warmness that seemed to cascade over you
as he leans down to press you against the mattress, arms still tightly wrapped around you as his face
nuzzles into your neck, kisses being pressed to the skin of your neck and you're not sure how Alex
can tolerate being pressed this close to your sweaty body. "Alex, it's too hot, let me goooo." You
whine, but the only response you get is Alex lifting his head to press a kiss against your lips to get
you to be quiet. His body is so warm and you feel as if you're gonna melt, you're honestly not sure if
it's from his lips on yours or from the extreme heat that seems to be never ending as it surrounds
your body. Your kissing back because you're positive his grip on you isn't gonna let

Booker's Essay: A Short Story
Grinning like a cat who had caught a canary, Booker made short work of ridding Tom of his
unwanted clothing. But he understood the need for his lover to be in control, and rolling onto his
back, he opened his arms and waggling his eyebrows, he gave what he hoped was a cheeky, come–
hither look. "I'm all yours, Officer."
Tom's dark eyes sparkled like Christmas trees. Although unable to use his hands, he was not about
to let his disability prevent him from realizing his dream, and straddling Booker's legs, he lowered
his body so his forearms rested on the mattress on either side of the dark–haired officer's head. He
could feel Booker's naked flesh quivering between his calves and his heart filled with a reverently
tender love that was rarely expressed in life except by the poets and the dreamers. It was a once in a
lifetime, blow your mind experience that few couples ever encountered during their years together.
But Tom knew for them, the depth of emotion would never fade. They belonged together; Booker
was the yin to his yang, the night to his day, the stars to his moon. When apart, they functioned just
fine, but together, their souls entwined and they became a living, breathing, cohesive entity of
intense love. Yes, they argued, but even their disagreements were bound by a fiery passion. Theirs
was a partnership envied by many, and experienced by few. They were the lucky ones. ... Show

against his lips, and his breath melted into a moan. "Oh, babe," he whispered. "You're so fucking

He ended the kiss, but pressed his forehead to mine, as we both tried to regain some control. "I
think," I said between breaths, "you want to fuck me up against your car." His eyes met mine, "I
have never wanted anyone, as much as I want you right now," he said kissing me deeply once more.
Gently, I pushed him back, "Well, as I'm sure neither of us want to be arrested for lewd acts, maybe
we should go." Tom nodded and opened the passenger side door. I pushed myself up from leaning
on the car and began to walk over to the driver's side. He raised an eyebrow. "I'm driving," I said
opening the door. "Are you?" "Like I'm gonna pass up the opportunity to drive this beauty," I said
lowering myself into the driver's seat. "O.K.," he smiled climbing into the passenger side. I hit the

to feel the soft leather. Closing my eyes, I took a deep breath, basking in the aromas of new sports

around, I found a music station I felt was acceptable and smiled. I looked over at Tom and he was

Kiss Me Costumes
In the engaging and energetic performance of Kiss Me, Kate, the effort put into the costumes and
lighting design was striking and created the two distinctive fictional worlds within the play.
Costume designer, Amanda Moore chose vivid colors and period costumes while lighting designer,
Duncan Singleton selected spotlights and colors which effectively portrayed the time period and
overall mood of the play.
As costume designer, Moore had to illustrate the difference between the play itself and the show
going on within it. She effectively demonstrated this difference with her use of bright, vivid
costumes for scenes from The Taming of the Shrew compared to her choice of fifties style dress for
the remaining scenes. Specifically, the colorful

"I don't think it's a good Idea." I said as Rick, Carl and I set up camp in a car. "We need to rest."
Rick said starting a fire. "I meant about Terminus." I said putting our supplies in the car. "It's the
best place that we could go right now. What if the others are there?" he asked while sitting down. I
sighed. There was no way I could shake off the feeling there was something bad around the corner.
Rick and I stood watch while Carl took a nap in the car. After a hour or two I asked Rick "I'm going
to take a short nap okay?" He looked at me and nodded and said "Yeah, go ahead get some rest." I
gave him a quick kiss before getting in the car. "Hey Lily," I heard Carl's voice "Yeah Carl?" He
asked "Do you think we'll find the others?" I answered "No I don't think I know we will." Carl
smiled and we laid back down until I heard a knock on the window and I heard him scream. My
door suddenly swung open and I was put into a choke hold. There were five men, one had a knife to
Carl's neck and a gun to Rick's head. Then there was a knife to my neck. "Leave them alone!" Rick
demanded at the old man pointing a gun to his head. I elbowed the guy in the stomach and tried to

As he came up behind me I felt a warm sensation on my neck, only to realize it was my dad looking

Take a Walk through a Professional Escort's Week
Day 1
It seems like the coming week will be busy with out of town visits, everyone. My first client this
week asked to meet in a hotel in a neighbouring town. I've discussed how far I'll go with the kinky
stuff with this guy before, so it doesn't seem like we'll have any problems. I've been in the business
long enough not to feel apprehensive about new clients, so thankfully that's not an issue. The client
is actually decent looking, and as soon as we reach the bed, I start giving him a blowjob.
I'm actually not that fond of impersonal calls like this. The mechanical procedures they go through
only awaken me to what I do for a living. Usually, frequently checking the time isn't something I
usually do, but this call seems to last forever. I'm a little taken back by how kinky this guy is, and
while I'm quite open to new experiences, I don't really like how this man seems to treat people in
general.
He's the one who tells me the hour is over and mentions the price I initially requested for an hour
and a half. However, he states that he'll only keep going if I swallow. I don't do this, so we stopped
and simply had a conversation for the remaining time. Through the talk, I actually found that the
guy was quite nice. We finish off the remaining time, clean up, and I leave. After leaving, I make
sure to mark down that I would rather not see this client again in the future. I may be an escort, but I

Descriptive Essay About Asthma
Holly and I had planned on having a normal day of Advanced Science, but I never expected to

chemicals hit my nose like a truck. Holly and I had been best friends since kindergarten, and we

the only spot open was with a boy who sat by himself, reading. "Hi, I'm Devin, and this is Holly.
Can we sit next to you?" I ask him.
He stares up at me and nods. As class started, we got to know him better. His name was Alex Smith,
he had asthma, and he was very shy. He was also very smart, and I admit I was jealous. Today in
class we were supposed to be looking at diseases through a microscope, but it turned out to be very
different. Alex told us about how he hated having asthma and how he wanted a cure for it, so he
decided to look into asthma. I watched him as he started putting things together, his face contorting
with concentration. He touched the plate under the microscope with his finger, and lifted it up to his
face. His face lit up as he started to breath clearer.
"I think I found a cure for asthma!" his eyes are wild with excitement.
"That's amazing!" Holly exclaims

something, and I hadn't even decided what disease to study. Mrs. Collins, our teacher, giddily

Foucault 's Modality As The Act Of Controlling How Bodies...
Foucault describes modality as the act of controlling how bodies move, the process they perform,
and how they enact them through which disciplines works. I partially agree with Foucault because
yes! There are some movements, body performance like dancing, playing musical instruments, etc.
that can be controlled, but there are some other common actions like when we are sad, we are
crying, then that sympathy part of our nature comes into play, and its almost impossible to control
our emotions and the body actions at that time. We all know that body is the subject of attention.
Now, however, the body is not subject to torture but to forces of discipline and control. It is very
weird that we treat our body like a machine. We tend to force ... Show more content on

181) People often in rural areas believe in superstition. They think that one touch from healer can
solve all the problems they are having, even that will heal all the pain. This is just bullshit. I believe
in god but not in this blind side of the society. But when it comes to the doctor, I agree that they can
really know some simple symptoms by just touching, and looking at the patient. Similarly, it's very
true that it can act as sympathy agent during the time of pain or suffering, and there is some sort of
unique sensory modality between two different people. If we put ourselves on the infant place, then
touch is the main basic tool for their learning. They can barely talk, so they feel, judge things by
touching. "Describing therapeutic practice in Yap, Throop (2012) finds that the sensory modality of
touch allows for diagnosis of pain. Among Yapese healers and patients tactility is considered a
modality for embodied inter–subjectivity." (Goodwin, pg. 2) The living body is constituted not only

Kiss Me Kate Play Analysis
March of 2017 brought snow, rain showers, and a great musical to Hillsdale College's campus. This
semester, the Hillsdale College theatre department performed a magnificent rendition of the classic
1950's play, Kiss Me Kate. Thanks to my core class's requirements, I was blessed with the golden
opportunity to see a marvelous musical that brought me much joy. What is interesting about Kiss
Me Kate is that is a very complex play. In fact, there are two striking aspects of the play that stand
out. First, the play can be described as a play within a play. Indeed, Kiss Me Kate is both a story
about struggling actors putting on a show with the threat of Chicago–eques gangsters looming over
their performance and a rendition of one of William Shakespeare's ... Show more content on

Many critics, cynics, and general attention–seekers have attempted to claim that Kiss Me Kate is an
endorsement of domestic violence, spousal abuse, and shoddy morals. Before attending the
performance, I was told by a close female friend that Kiss Me Kate was notably anti–woman. After
watching the performance, I have to say that her comment was most undoubtedly fake news. Those
concerned with such elements should be delighted to hear that those "naughty parts" aren't so
naughty nor are they the more critical aspects of the play. Also, one must realize that even though
we are leaving in 2017, the play was popular in the 1950's and was based off of a really old
Shakespearian play. Naturally then, the behaviors exhibited by the characters might irk us. The
characters represent ideals and beliefs from an age different than ours. Regardless of the morality
presented, this difference in periods will lead to discomfort and confusion as, news flash, things

Lord Hater: A Narrative Fiction
It was just a regular day on the skullship. The watchdogs were stumbling about as usual, clumsily
bumping into each other; which resulted in them getting yelled at. Of course, that certain someone
who yelled at them was none other than the Commander Peepers. He had been playing the villainy
game for quite some time, years in fact.
And who was his first in command, his leader? Lord Hater, who was by far the greatest in the
galaxy. Sure, there was a certain fuzzy helpful fuzzy weirdo that distracted him a lot, but that didn't
change the fact that he was so strong, and tough, and handsome, and– Wait, what was that last part?
Oh, it was probably nothing.
Peepers checked his clipboard for the nth time to make sure everything was orderly. He clicked at
his pen, then tapped it against each job listed, reading over them repeatedly.
"Yes, good! Everything ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But why?! He glanced up at Hater, blushing furiously as he began to shake. Hater's face was hard to
see with his hood over it the way it was, he couldn't read his expression at all! Hater sped–walked to
the table and sat down.
"Have a seat." He mumbled, gesturing for him to sit next to him. Peepers pulled at the collar of his
uniform, then shakily stepped to him and slid into his seat. Right. Next. To Hater!
"So... What is this all about?" Peepers asked softly. He was circling his thumb around the top of his
palm, only to be interrupted by Hater, who grabbed onto his hands.
"Peepers, I would like you to kiss me." Hater choked out. Peepers unwillingly gasped loudly. He
was completely at loss for words. Was this seriously happening?! He was confused, but he didn't
wanna let his sir down.
"I–I ask you as your leader!" Peepers let out harsh, short breathes, then started to stand up from his
chair. He leaned in towards Hater, who was frantically sweating and blushing a deep green. Peepers
suddenly took a step back and quickly glanced away, this caused him to fall onto his

I Am A Man On Social Media
There was a soft wind blowing that morning. The birds were chirping in the trees and the glow of
the rising sun tinted the sky with shades of yellow and orange. As I walked to the car, I could feel
the soft breeze pass through my hair so gently as if an angel ran its fingers through each strand. I
paused for a moment to enjoy that delightful feeling before I began my journey to work.
On the way to work, began to think of the guy that has stolen my heart. Every song that played
reminded me of him. As I listened to "Baby, Hold on to me" by Gerald Levert, I began to envision
us looking into each other's eyes and slowly dancing the night away. I met this wonderful man on
social media. Never had I imagined that I would ever fall for someone that I have never met in
person. This man is one of a kind. He is handsome, intelligent, loving, and an all–around good guy.
No one is perfect but he makes me feel as if I am in a fairytale; I am Cinderella and he is Prince
Charming. With his words he assures me that he is not here to hurt me but to cherish me. With every
passing day, I feel more connected to him than ever. After months of courting, he called and notified
me of a surprise that is coming for me. For days I wait anxiously for the unknown surprise. Friday's
are normally a quiet day in the office and this Friday was no different. My morning was really slow
and it was nearing my lunch break. While sitting at my desk, I hear a knock on the door. I assumed
it was a client arriving

Descriptive Essay About Rapel
There once was a deep forest with the largest tower any unisexed individual ever laid eyes upon. In
this tower, there was an incredibly handsome individual named Raphael. Raphael had delicate blue
eyes, toned muscles, a nicely shaped fade, – oh – and a one hundred foot beard. His testosterone
levels were surly through the roof.
You might be wondering, "Why does Raphael have a one hundred foot beard, and if he is so
devilishly handsome, why does he live by himself in a tower?" Well, Raphael was kidnapped as a
child by a warlock who always wanted a son. However, as Raphael grew older he became a real
hunk, and this warlock, named Ricardio, grew envious of his looks. As punishment for being so
handsome, the warlock put a spell on Raphael that made it impossible for him to shave and locked
him in a tower so no one could ever see his beautifully carved jawline and luscious face.
Raphael would always try to trim his wiry dark beard, but even the sharpest of scissors shattered
into dust when he attempted. As he grew older, all alone in the tower, he learned to play the harp and
wrote many songs. He often slept a great amount, and wrote stories on the walls of his small fully
furnished room. He also fixed his hair a lot and could probably be a professional barber if he ever
got out of that damned place. Raphael also enjoys looking at nature and wondering what it would
feel like to be a part of it. He was trapped in the tower for so long, he forgot how soft grass was, and
how hard

My Deary, Kiss Me, And Be Quiet
" Be plain in dress, and sober in diet;
In short, my deary, kiss me, and be quiet."
–Mary Wortley Montagu In a male dominated society, women had little choice when it came to the
path of life they would trek upon until death. From the first words of the doctor when they
announce, "it's a girl", amidst cries of the baby and the relief of the mother, the path a woman shall
take has already been predetermined. Chalotte Perkins Gilman's "The Yellow Wallpaper" is a
harrowing short story about a woman diagnosed with post–partum depression and her gradual slip
into insanity when she is prescribed the rest–cure, a discredited treatment that only allows two hours
of productivity each day. Gilman, the author, not only integrates stupendous aspects of gothic
literature into her story but she also depicts a deeper, hidden message about the 19th century
attitudes towards women from the words written in the journal of the unreliable narrator. Charlotte
Perkins Gilman was a woman born on July 3, 1860 during an extremely turbulent decade with
numerous upheavals in society. After Gilman's father left the family in 1859, Gilman grew up with
the sole care of her cold mother and this childhood shaped her into an ambitious, independent
woman. Holding onto her strong dreams and goals, Gilman hesitantly married Charles Walter
Stetson, an artist. However, she began suffering from severe bouts of depression and was diagnosed
with post–partum depression after her pregnancy with her daughter,

Taming Of The Shiew : The Tamming Of The Shrew
Kiss Me Kate
Kiss Me Kate. My mother still talks about it to this day, the first high school play she was ever in.
She acts like her performance was as good if not better than the those on Broadway. And to think
I've never seen the show that is my mother's "claim to fame." (Well other than her short renditions
she gave in the kitchen). But now it was my turn to watch the real show from the audience of the
Rockwell, instead of our kitchen table.
The format of this show, a play within a play, allowed it to have another layer of depth. There was
the plot behind the scenes, where we got an inside look at the actors' lives beyond the stage, and also
the plot onstage in their performance of The Taming of the Shrew. From the start, we see the all the
chaos that goes into a show in the opening number "Another Op'nin', Another Show." What a way to
start a show! It dives right into this lively song and dance number with the whole cast on stage,
while also introducing its main character. It's certainly entertaining and it's effective. As I watched it
really opened my eyes to think about goes on even behind that fake backstage wall, where the real
work happens. I found that even with this extra layer I never experienced any confusion as to what
was happening before me.
Although the feelings of the actors often spilled over into their performances on stage, and their
characters influenced their real life, it allowed the play a connection to each situation, and providing
the audience

All Of Us Have Had One
All of us have had one. You know, that one date we wish would have never happened. That one date
that we only tell to another soul after several weeks of mulling it over in self–doubt as to whether or
not you should ever speak of it again, or just let it listlessly fade from memory. For me, this date
happened on July 6, 2007––ironically, about two weeks before I met the woman who is presently
my wife. Alison and I had met online. With my busy work schedule, it made it impossible for me to
find a girl the 'traditional ' way, and so a buddy of mine helped me create an online profile with
OkCupid. The website was actually quite fun to play around with as it had some user–quizzes, and a
pretty interesting profile–building experience. As suggested by the website, within a few days
someone had already e–mailed me. Honestly, it took a while to weed–out the people I would
blatantly not be interested in versus those that had potential, but finally I came across a profile that I
thought would blend well with my values, likes, dislikes, etc––and so I sent her a message. Two
days later I received a response and we began chatting. After two days of instant messaging the
good ole ' fashioned way on AIM, we decided we wanted to meet one other. We set a date at
Applebee 's for that coming Friday night at 7:30 PM. This was the first date I had been on in a
couple of months since my previous relationship ended, so I was definitely nervous. I could tell
because it took me more than 2

"There's a girl I know, he loves her so... I'm not that girl..."
Stood in the wings, one hand in yours, the other clasping the prop oil lamp, you looked over at each

Kiss Me Kate
As a modern audience, we must remember to be mindful of the society in which Shakespeare wrote
The Taming of the Shrew when we analyze it. This was a time when marriages were made for the
convenience of the fathers far more often than for a love already existing between the bride and
groom; people often were married without having known each other for very long, and sometimes
without ever having met. Instead, one hoped to find love within the marriage once it was in place, to
learn to love one's partner––there really were no "better" options. It is also doubtful that acting upon
"love at first sight," in any society, necessarily brings greater happiness in marriage than does the
slowly–developed, consistent love of a married couple who ... Show more content on

Petruchio plans to win this woman over by simply confronting her temper with flattery. Of course,
the infamous Kate lives up to her reputation and is every bit as cold and difficult as Petruchio has
been told to expect. After observing arguments, base insults, and even a blow inflicted upon
Petruchio, the audience begins to lose faith in Petruchio's unusual methods. This extremely clever
gentleman, however, will not easily give up such a dowry. Still, he does not wish to waste a vast
amount of time and energy on a woman that could just as soon walk away and leave him looking
foolish despite his best efforts. He knows that, in order to tame her, he must first obtain her. Though
little ground has been gained in the fight against her inflexibility, Petruchio, upon Baptista's return,
tells him the outcome of his meeting with Kate. He speaks of a bond so natural and strong that they
have agreed to marry on the following Sunday. Instantly, Kate recognizes the lies in his assertions
and tries to convince her father of the true nature of their meeting, calling Petruchio, "...one half

Kiss Me Kate Critical Analysis
On November 1st, 2017, I saw the play Kiss Me, Kate by Samuel and Bella Spewack at the
McGuire Pavilion in Gainesville. The musical is about how two famous actors who were once
married, but divorced and are now going to get remarried collaborate with a few up and coming
actors for Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew. However, there are problems backstage between
the crew due to their affairs. Fred Graham, who is played by Thomas Nightingale, is about to
remarry his ex–wife and he an actor, director, and producer for The Taming of the Shrew. Louis
Lane is portrayed by Brittany Bennett and her character comes off as incoherent and the audience
sees her relationship with her boyfriend who has a gambling problem. Nightingale is very effective
at showing his characters true feelings toward his future wife, but Bennett does a better job
depicting her character.
In act one, Nightingale first shows his abilities when he is on stage going back and forth from
directing to acting. He was very good at directing and this was seen through the way he used his
voice and facial expressions to demand the respect and attention from the other actors. His
confidence and strong voice made it clear that he was the one in charge. He also made sure to flirt
with Bennett's character while he was directing. Nightingale made sure that he got her acceptance,
but he made it clear to the audience that he did not find it as an accomplishment. This was made
clear when he turned and laughed after she made

Reflection About Respect In Family
I picked him up from school on Tuesday. I asked him how his day went, and I could see in his
demeanor that something was not right. I started to talk to him and information suddenly began to
pour out. He had been sent to the principal's office because he was spreading rumors about another
student. He told me that the other student started it by saying that he should have failed third grade
because he sucks at read. Adrian, being hurt by this, thought he could get back at him by saying that
he was stupid, a loser, and he has no friends. In my mind I was excited just because this was the
perfect opportunity to break out some Marcus and teach him about character. I asked him if he
thought he was right about spreading rumors to get back at this kid. Of course, his answer was no. I
then began to talk to Adrian about respect and forgiveness.
Explaining respect came easier to me than explaining forgiveness. I told him that respect is treating
others how you want to be treated and to value others as human beings because we are all worthy no
matter our age, gender, or any other differences one has. When I was explaining forgiveness to him I
tried to do so in a sense of him letting go of his negative feelings and pain. I told him that
forgiveness is understanding that there was a problem with his actions as well as the other kid's
actions, realizing that there was hurt and pain on both sides, and choosing to let go of that anger so
he can move forward and find peace.

percent service charge is the done thing, but there isn't really a tipping culture in Italy so there's no
need to throw your cash around. If you want to leave a tip, just round the bill up to the nearest 0 or 5
and that will do nicely. Drinking too much at parties Some cultures drink more than others and the
Italians drink less than most. Obviously this is a bit of a generalization, but if you want to make
friends or network at your next Italian party, it's probably a good idea to take it easy on the booze. In
Italy, drinking so much that you, shout/fall over/cry/fight/tell the dude next to you 'I love you'/
discuss how you would love to open a bar with your new best mate etc. is very much the exception
and not the norm. Putting your washing machine on at night Most people live in blocks of houses or
flats in Italy and there are actually law's about what times you can make noise and put you're
washing machine

Haleigh Kushman Case Study
I have known Haleigh Kushman for around a year and a half. She is my friend/my brother Ridan's
girlfriend; which is how I know her. I see her at least 2 or 3 times per week; almost always at each
others homes, as we are neighbors. Her home is drug and alcohol free. I know Haleigh has not
driven a motorized vehicle since 8/17/12. To my knowledge, the last time that she consumed alcohol
was on 8/02/13. I have not seen, heard, or noticed anything unusual to lead me to believe that she
has had an alcoholic drink since then. I have never heard that Haleigh has tried illicit drugs. Since
her arrest, I am aware that she has been seeking treatment through her appointments with her
alcohol counselor Dr. Melissa Sandeer. I know that she also

Nonverbal Communication And Body Language
Body language (the process of communicating nonverbally through conscious or unconscious
gestures and movements). People all of the world use body language or gestures to communicate
nonverbally. I personally think that nonverbal communication and body language are one of the
biggest barriers in communication especially between one culture to other. Body gestures can be
misinterpreted as rude or disrespectful depending on the country, region, or even the city you're
from.
A few for example, in some countries the two fingers up to make the peace sign and also the thumbs
up sign can be considered rude. In some places, the ok sign that we use with our hand is considered
a sign of the devil 666, but in France it means nothing as in zero and not ok or great. In some places
can't, huge men and women can't huge each other if the opposite sex isn't a family. In Haiti which is
a French speaking country it is rude to shrug the shoulder when communicating with older people.
The shrug of the shoulder is only use with your friends. Also, in Haiti kissing on the cheek like in
France is for family friend I not greet that way it's a sign that something with wrong in relationship
between you and the person, and the men to men don't kiss on the cheeks they will just shack hands.
In France greeting seems to be a really big deal among the culture, one of the greeting is called fair
la bise. Which is the kissing of the cheek which is really just cheeks touching and kissing in the air
but,

  • 1. The Kiss By Kate Chopin Essay Things and People are not always as they appear to be on the first sight that is why we have to examine them in different ways otherwise they may mislead us. That is more then true in the short story "The Kiss" by Kate Chopin in which she uses imagery, irony and simile to show us how deceitful a person can be. She tells us by the actions of her characters that a person should not be judged solely by his or her appearance or words because those things can be dangerously misleading. All of the characters in Chopin story play their own games and in more or less visible way try to manipulate others to achieve their own sometimes not very righteous goals, but who will eventually succeed in realizing his desires in this world of deception and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... But moments later we learn that not everything went as she wanted when Harvey tells her that he won't be meeting with her any more because he "stopped kissing women; it's dangerous". Second little manipulator in the story is Mr. Harvey, the secret lover of Miss Nathalie whom we first meet when he because of supposedly not seeing Mr. Brantain sitting in the shadow, gives Nattie a passionate kiss after with shocked Brantain leaves the room and Nathalie not able to stop him becomes furious. Harvey tries to persuade her that he did not see the other man sitting there "Hang me if I saw him sitting there, Nattie!" but in fact he quite well knew that he is there as well as he had to know about their talks that lasted for past two weeks. And so, the kiss was a provocation as we see on Harvey face "a little amusement and some defiance struggling with the confusion in his face" that meant to show Brantain that Nattie is taken and to finally force her into a situation in which she would have to decide with whom does she want to be and for what she cares more, money or love. Unfortunately for him she chooses money and got married whit the man who had them thus giving Harvey no other choice then to leave her as he did not want to have an affair whit her but rather wanted to have her ... • 2. Panza Girl Manifesto I remember the first time I was displeased by my body. I was eight years old. As I was sitting on the edge of my bed, I lifted up my shirt and examined the little rolls of my stomach and thought, "If my stomach was flatter, I would look much better." Thinking back about it, it seems ridiculous that an eight year old would be worried about their weight, but it's also probably not something that's all that rare. In Real Women Have Curves, Carmen tell Ana, "If you lost 20 pounds you would be very beautiful" (284). Carmen makes this comment to Ana, who is now a young adult, but knowing Carmen's character, it is probably likely that she made similar comments about her daughters' bodies throughout their lives. I didn't have this message from coming ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Beautiful Señoritas, each woman is talking about the point where she became a woman and the Mama says, "The harassment of being a woman...So many parts to be played so many parts to be stifled and denied" (43). This quote forced me to consider my interactions with men. There was a boy named Aaron. We had been flirting over text for a week and I was excited to meet him in person. Spending time with his there was no profound or instant connection, but it was nice. We went to his room and put on a TV show. An episode and a half in I notice him keep looking at me. Finally, I look at him when he looks at me and lean over and start kissing him. He's eager and impatient with his kisses. Like this is the first and last time he will ever get to kiss a girl in his life and he needs to soak it all in as quickly as possible. Kissing should be a way to have a romantic nonverbal conversation with body movement and physical contact, but in this conversation, he was shouting while I calmly tried to reason with him, my message was stifled under his own noise. His hands start to probe my body as his mouth attacked mine, like my body was his specimen to explore the parts of the female body. Of course, he had no way see the story and struggle in my stretch marks and cellulite that I would be able to trace, but he didn't even seem to appreciate my body as ... • 3. What Makes A Good Place? On her way to her office she thinks of where they are now. They seem to be in a good place and she is okay with that. She still wishes sometimes that he would love her as she loves him. She has resigned herself to the fact that may never happen. It probably won't ever happen. She enters her office and goes over to the desk. Jada starts to peruse the documents. She's unable to concentrate though. She is still working through her issues since losing the baby. Many women go through this and yet they seem to bounce right back. Why has it been so hard for her? What is in the recesses of her mind? She can't move forward because of it. Jada gets up from her desk and then goes over to the window to look outside. It's a wonderful view of the city. He would do right by her and be an excellent dad to their child. The problem wasn't him it was her. What the hell is going on in HER MIND?! When she has her next appointment with Dr. McIntosh she would try to delve into these burning questions. It was Saturday and the day of the picnic. • 4. Winter Solstice Short Story Winter Solstice was a very special time in Stormholt, with Kenna and Val's friends visiting them every year for a grand celebration. It was cold and windy that night, and even though Kenna and Val were having fun, they were also feeling restless. "Damn it Kenna, this dress is so itchy! I hate having to be so formal." "I know Val, but at least I let you do your hair the way you like." With an amorous look, Kenna eyed Val up and down. "You're not wearing anything underneath that dress are you, Val?" Grinning at Kenna, Val nodded, "You know me too well. But I'm pretty sure it's not just me." "I guess you'll have to find out later." As Val observed the way Kenna's hair flowed in the wind, she had a hard time concentrating on anything else. "... and that's how I invented plumbing. I... Val! Are you even listening?" "What? Oh yeah, very funny, Whitlock." "Val! It's not supposed to be funny, it's supposed to be interesting!" "Ok, then it's really interesting," Val said with her eyes locked on Kenna, not fully aware of what she was even saying. "Ugh, I don't know why I try with you, maybe Lia will be more considerate." With that, Whitlock walked off, leaving Val alone with her wife. "Kenna, this shouldn't be possible, but when you're bathed in moonlight, you're even more beautiful." Placing her hand on Val's thigh, Kenna smiled and gave her a kiss. "Funny, I was just thinking the same thing about you, my gorgeous wife." Kenna looked around to see if anyone was paying attention to them. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Personal Narrative-Gay Marriage I don't want to worry Dask, but I have no idea what I'm doing. I mean, how does a guy even be boyfriends with another guy? Lying on my bed, I was trying to read a book we'd been assigned for English, but the trouble was, I kept reading the same paragraph over and over and it still wasn't making sense to me. My mind kept drifting off to think about him. We'd been together for two weeks, and while it was great to be able to make out with him regularly and it was awesome to know he liked me a lot, I have to say it felt a little strange too. With Kelly, she'd hug me and I'd kiss her when I saw her and we'd hold hands sometimes at school. With Dask, instead of feeling like I should go hold his hand and kiss him on the cheek to greet him like ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I didn't have a problem with that, but sometimes I wondered if I was meant to do something else too. Sometimes I'd see Clara shooting me dirty looks and I'd wonder if I was doing something wrong, or I'd see Dask get a slight crinkle between his brows like he was bothered by something, but it would be there no longer than a second before it was gone. I kept forgetting to ask him if anything was wrong because we didn't seem to get enough time together these days, and when we did, we were all over each other. I looked down at the book in my hands, Hamlet. What was it with Shakespeare and schools? Even I could spell better than him. Also, a play is even more difficult to read, for me anyway. "Jo?" You had high hopes throughout the day that it might get cooler, that maybe the heat would lighten up when the sun set, but it just seemed to get worse as the day passed. • 7. Booker's Essay: A Short Story Grinning like a cat who had caught a canary, Booker made short work of ridding Tom of his unwanted clothing. But he understood the need for his lover to be in control, and rolling onto his back, he opened his arms and waggling his eyebrows, he gave what he hoped was a cheeky, come– hither look. "I'm all yours, Officer." Tom's dark eyes sparkled like Christmas trees. Although unable to use his hands, he was not about to let his disability prevent him from realizing his dream, and straddling Booker's legs, he lowered his body so his forearms rested on the mattress on either side of the dark–haired officer's head. He could feel Booker's naked flesh quivering between his calves and his heart filled with a reverently tender love that was rarely expressed in life except by the poets and the dreamers. It was a once in a lifetime, blow your mind experience that few couples ever encountered during their years together. But Tom knew for them, the depth of emotion would never fade. They belonged together; Booker was the yin to his yang, the night to his day, the stars to his moon. When apart, they functioned just fine, but together, their souls entwined and they became a living, breathing, cohesive entity of intense love. His eyes met mine, "I have never wanted anyone, as much as I want you right now," he said kissing me deeply once more. Gently, I pushed him back, "Well, as I'm sure neither of us want to be arrested for lewd acts, maybe we should go." Tom nodded and opened the passenger side door. I pushed myself up from leaning on the car and began to walk over to the driver's side. He raised an eyebrow. "I'm driving," I said opening the door. "Are you?" "Like I'm gonna pass up the opportunity to drive this beauty," I said lowering myself into the driver's seat. "O.K.," he smiled climbing into the passenger side. I hit the start button, and the dashboard glowed a cool blue. I then adjusted my seat, since my legs were no where near as long as Tom's. Next, I ran my hands sensually over the steering wheel, taking my time to feel the soft leather. Closing my eyes, I took a deep breath, basking in the aromas of new sports car and Tom. A casual look around the dash familiarized me with the controls. After some tapping around, I found a music station I felt was acceptable and smiled. Kiss Me Costumes In the engaging and energetic performance of Kiss Me, Kate, the effort put into the costumes and lighting design was striking and created the two distinctive fictional worlds within the play. Costume designer, Amanda Moore chose vivid colors and period costumes while lighting designer, Duncan Singleton selected spotlights and colors which effectively portrayed the time period and overall mood of the play. As costume designer, Moore had to illustrate the difference between the play itself and the show going on within it. She effectively demonstrated this difference with her use of bright, vivid costumes for scenes from The Taming of the Shrew compared to her choice of fifties style dress for the remaining scenes. My first client this week asked to meet in a hotel in a neighbouring town. I've discussed how far I'll go with the kinky stuff with this guy before, so it doesn't seem like we'll have any problems. I've been in the business long enough not to feel apprehensive about new clients, so thankfully that's not an issue. The client is actually decent looking, and as soon as we reach the bed, I start giving him a blowjob. I'm actually not that fond of impersonal calls like this. The mechanical procedures they go through only awaken me to what I do for a living. Usually, frequently checking the time isn't something I usually do, but this call seems to last forever. I'm a little taken back by how kinky this guy is, and while I'm quite open to new experiences, I don't really like how this man seems to treat people in general. He's the one who tells me the hour is over and mentions the price I initially requested for an hour and a half. However, he states that he'll only keep going if I swallow. I don't do this, so we stopped and simply had a conversation for the remaining time. Through the talk, I actually found that the guy was quite nice. We finish off the remaining time, clean up, and I leave. After leaving, I make sure to mark down that I would rather not see this client again in the future. He stares up at me and nods. As class started, we got to know him better. His name was Alex Smith, he had asthma, and he was very shy. He was also very smart, and I admit I was jealous. Today in class we were supposed to be looking at diseases through a microscope, but it turned out to be very different. Alex told us about how he hated having asthma and how he wanted a cure for it, so he decided to look into asthma. I watched him as he started putting things together, his face contorting with concentration. He touched the plate under the microscope with his finger, and lifted it up to his face. His face lit up as he started to breath clearer. "I think I found a cure for asthma!" his eyes are wild with excitement. "That's amazing!" Foucault describes modality as the act of controlling how bodies move, the process they perform, and how they enact them through which disciplines works. I partially agree with Foucault because yes! There are some movements, body performance like dancing, playing musical instruments, etc. that can be controlled, but there are some other common actions like when we are sad, we are crying, then that sympathy part of our nature comes into play, and its almost impossible to control our emotions and the body actions at that time. We all know that body is the subject of attention. Now, however, the body is not subject to torture but to forces of discipline and control. It is very weird that we treat our body like a machine. Similarly, it's very true that it can act as sympathy agent during the time of pain or suffering, and there is some sort of unique sensory modality between two different people. • 17. Kiss Me Kate Play Analysis March of 2017 brought snow, rain showers, and a great musical to Hillsdale College's campus. This semester, the Hillsdale College theatre department performed a magnificent rendition of the classic 1950's play, Kiss Me Kate. Thanks to my core class's requirements, I was blessed with the golden opportunity to see a marvelous musical that brought me much joy. What is interesting about Kiss Me Kate is that is a very complex play. In fact, there are two striking aspects of the play that stand out. First, the play can be described as a play within a play. Indeed, Kiss Me Kate is both a story about struggling actors putting on a show with the threat of Chicago–eques gangsters looming over their performance and a rendition of one of William Shakespeare's ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Many critics, cynics, and general attention–seekers have attempted to claim that Kiss Me Kate is an endorsement of domestic violence, spousal abuse, and shoddy morals. Before attending the performance, I was told by a close female friend that Kiss Me Kate was notably anti–woman. After watching the performance, I have to say that her comment was most undoubtedly fake news. Those concerned with such elements should be delighted to hear that those "naughty parts" aren't so naughty nor are they the more critical aspects of the play. Also, one must realize that even though we are leaving in 2017, the play was popular in the 1950's and was based off of a really old Shakespearian play. Naturally then, the behaviors exhibited by the characters might irk us. The characters represent ideals and beliefs from an age different than ours. Regardless of the morality presented, this difference in periods will lead to discomfort and confusion as, news flash, things change over ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 22. Descriptive Essay About Rapel There once was a deep forest with the largest tower any unisexed individual ever laid eyes upon. In this tower, there was an incredibly handsome individual named Raphael. Raphael had delicate blue eyes, toned muscles, a nicely shaped fade, – oh – and a one hundred foot beard. His testosterone levels were surly through the roof. You might be wondering, "Why does Raphael have a one hundred foot beard, and if he is so devilishly handsome, why does he live by himself in a tower?" Well, Raphael was kidnapped as a child by a warlock who always wanted a son. However, as Raphael grew older he became a real hunk, and this warlock, named Ricardio, grew envious of his looks. As punishment for being so handsome, the warlock put a spell on Raphael that made it impossible for him to shave and locked him in a tower so no one could ever see his beautifully carved jawline and luscious face. Raphael would always try to trim his wiry dark beard, but even the sharpest of scissors shattered into dust when he attempted. As he grew older, all alone in the tower, he learned to play the harp and wrote many songs. He often slept a great amount, and wrote stories on the walls of his small fully furnished room. He also fixed his hair a lot and could probably be a professional barber if he ever got out of that damned place. • 23. My Deary, Kiss Me, And Be Quiet " Be plain in dress, and sober in diet; In short, my deary, kiss me, and be quiet." –Mary Wortley Montagu In a male dominated society, women had little choice when it came to the path of life they would trek upon until death. From the first words of the doctor when they announce, "it's a girl", amidst cries of the baby and the relief of the mother, the path a woman shall take has already been predetermined. Chalotte Perkins Gilman's "The Yellow Wallpaper" is a harrowing short story about a woman diagnosed with post–partum depression and her gradual slip into insanity when she is prescribed the rest–cure, a discredited treatment that only allows two hours of productivity each day. Gilman, the author, not only integrates stupendous aspects of gothic literature into her story but she also depicts a deeper, hidden message about the 19th century attitudes towards women from the words written in the journal of the unreliable narrator. Charlotte Perkins Gilman was a woman born on July 3, 1860 during an extremely turbulent decade with numerous upheavals in society. After Gilman's father left the family in 1859, Gilman grew up with the sole care of her cold mother and this childhood shaped her into an ambitious, independent woman. Holding onto her strong dreams and goals, Gilman hesitantly married Charles Walter Stetson, an artist. However, she began suffering from severe bouts of depression and was diagnosed with post–partum depression after her pregnancy with her daughter, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 27. Taming Of The Shiew : The Tamming Of The Shrew Kiss Me Kate Kiss Me Kate. My mother still talks about it to this day, the first high school play she was ever in. She acts like her performance was as good if not better than the those on Broadway. And to think I've never seen the show that is my mother's "claim to fame." (Well other than her short renditions she gave in the kitchen). But now it was my turn to watch the real show from the audience of the Rockwell, instead of our kitchen table. The format of this show, a play within a play, allowed it to have another layer of depth. There was the plot behind the scenes, where we got an inside look at the actors' lives beyond the stage, and also the plot onstage in their performance of The Taming of the Shrew. From the start, we see the all the chaos that goes into a show in the opening number "Another Op'nin', Another Show." What a way to start a show! It dives right into this lively song and dance number with the whole cast on stage, while also introducing its main character. It's certainly entertaining and it's effective. As I watched it really opened my eyes to think about goes on even behind that fake backstage wall, where the real work happens. I found that even with this extra layer I never experienced any confusion as to what was happening before me. Although the feelings of the actors often spilled over into their performances on stage, and their characters influenced their real life, it allowed the play a connection to each situation, and providing the audience ... • 28. All Of Us Have Had One All of us have had one. You know, that one date we wish would have never happened. That one date that we only tell to another soul after several weeks of mulling it over in self–doubt as to whether or not you should ever speak of it again, or just let it listlessly fade from memory. For me, this date happened on July 6, 2007––ironically, about two weeks before I met the woman who is presently my wife. Alison and I had met online. With my busy work schedule, it made it impossible for me to find a girl the 'traditional ' way, and so a buddy of mine helped me create an online profile with OkCupid. The website was actually quite fun to play around with as it had some user–quizzes, and a pretty interesting profile–building experience. As suggested by the website, within a few days someone had already e–mailed me. Honestly, it took a while to weed–out the people I would blatantly not be interested in versus those that had potential, but finally I came across a profile that I thought would blend well with my values, likes, dislikes, etc––and so I sent her a message. Two days later I received a response and we began chatting. After two days of instant messaging the good ole ' fashioned way on AIM, we decided we wanted to meet one other. We set a date at Applebee 's for that coming Friday night at 7:30 PM. This was the first date I had been on in a couple of months since my previous relationship ended, so I was definitely nervous. I could tell because it took me more than 2 ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

"Of course I'm not going to have anybody over Dad...I'm not stupid, I know we have a security system." "James, we need to go...our flight leaves at 4 o'clock and it's already 3 o'clock!" "Okay" "All right well you two have fun! Call me when your flight lands." "We will, give your Dad and I hugs before we leave." After giving both Mom and Dad hugs and kisses goodbye, I thought to myself this weekend is going to be great! After I got inside I caught myself smiling like an idiot. I texted Jordan telling him that my parents just left, and reminded him to use the back gate and just walk up to my room. He already knew about their long weekend cruise and how I will be home alone. The best thing is no siblings because they are at our Grandparents house. Mom and Dad left me home alone to take care of the animals. Obviously seeing that as a opportunity to break the rules! My speaker was playing my awesome playlist of music I made. The bathroom mirror began to fog up while I got undressed to get in the shower. 20 minutes of me singing and I finally decided to get out. I went to my bedroom and put on my favorite and most comfortable dress. Then proceeded to dry my hair. After drying my hair the song "Fergalicious" came on. Of course that meant a dance break! Yes, you'd rehearsed the scene and kissed before, but this was different, it was the first time you'd be doing this in front of other people, and the first time you'd be doing this since he acted on his feelings for you. "There's a girl I know, he loves her so... I'm not that girl..." Stood in the wings, one hand in yours, the other clasping the prop oil lamp, you looked over at each other. • 32. Kiss Me Kate As a modern audience, we must remember to be mindful of the society in which Shakespeare wrote The Taming of the Shrew when we analyze it. This was a time when marriages were made for the convenience of the fathers far more often than for a love already existing between the bride and groom; people often were married without having known each other for very long, and sometimes without ever having met. Instead, one hoped to find love within the marriage once it was in place, to learn to love one's partner––there really were no "better" options. It is also doubtful that acting upon "love at first sight," in any society, necessarily brings greater happiness in marriage than does the slowly–developed, consistent love of a married couple who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Petruchio plans to win this woman over by simply confronting her temper with flattery. Of course, the infamous Kate lives up to her reputation and is every bit as cold and difficult as Petruchio has been told to expect. After observing arguments, base insults, and even a blow inflicted upon Petruchio, the audience begins to lose faith in Petruchio's unusual methods. This extremely clever gentleman, however, will not easily give up such a dowry. Still, he does not wish to waste a vast amount of time and energy on a woman that could just as soon walk away and leave him looking foolish despite his best efforts. He knows that, in order to tame her, he must first obtain her. Though little ground has been gained in the fight against her inflexibility, Petruchio, upon Baptista's return, tells him the outcome of his meeting with Kate. He speaks of a bond so natural and strong that they have agreed to marry on the following Sunday. Instantly, Kate recognizes the lies in his assertions and tries to convince her father of the true nature of their meeting, calling Petruchio, "...one half lunatic, a madcap ruffian and a swearing Jack, that thinks with oaths to face the matter out" (II, i). Though one might expect Kate's complaints sway her father's opinion of Petruchio, Petruchio adheres to his original statements. He discards her ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Birthday treats, lots of toys. Soft fur in my hands. That is all I remember, it's all in the past. My dog and I had a great friendship, but it all ended too soon. Have you ever found that your dog tends to track in a lot of mud and snow during the early and cold winter mornings? Well, I certainly have. Whenever my dog came inside from a cold, winter morning, she would slop mud everywhere on the floor and drip ice cold water on the warm floor and my clean clothes. Her cold and wet fur brushes my skin as I sit down next to her, making her smell like a dog fresh out of the rain. Even though I have let her play and sleep, and run outside for more two hours, and is panting like she has been running for miles, she still knocks at the door, rubs my leg and howles for me to take her back outside once more. • 34. Kiss Me Kate Critical Analysis On November 1st, 2017, I saw the play Kiss Me, Kate by Samuel and Bella Spewack at the McGuire Pavilion in Gainesville. The musical is about how two famous actors who were once married, but divorced and are now going to get remarried collaborate with a few up and coming actors for Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew. However, there are problems backstage between the crew due to their affairs. Fred Graham, who is played by Thomas Nightingale, is about to remarry his ex–wife and he an actor, director, and producer for The Taming of the Shrew. Louis Lane is portrayed by Brittany Bennett and her character comes off as incoherent and the audience sees her relationship with her boyfriend who has a gambling problem. Nightingale is very effective at showing his characters true feelings toward his future wife, but Bennett does a better job depicting her character. In act one, Nightingale first shows his abilities when he is on stage going back and forth from directing to acting. He was very good at directing and this was seen through the way he used his voice and facial expressions to demand the respect and attention from the other actors. His confidence and strong voice made it clear that he was the one in charge. He also made sure to flirt with Bennett's character while he was directing. Nightingale made sure that he got her acceptance, but he made it clear to the audience that he did not find it as an accomplishment. This was made clear when he turned and laughed after she made ... I asked."Hey can I come in and talk to you for a minute?" He asked in reply. I stepped aside and opened the door a little more and said "Yeah, We'll just need to be quiet Rick, and Carl are still asleep I'm making breakfast and watching Judith." • 36. Reflection About Respect In Family I picked him up from school on Tuesday. I asked him how his day went, and I could see in his demeanor that something was not right. I started to talk to him and information suddenly began to pour out. He had been sent to the principal's office because he was spreading rumors about another student. He told me that the other student started it by saying that he should have failed third grade because he sucks at read. Adrian, being hurt by this, thought he could get back at him by saying that he was stupid, a loser, and he has no friends. In my mind I was excited just because this was the perfect opportunity to break out some Marcus and teach him about character. I asked him if he thought he was right about spreading rumors to get back at this kid. Of course, his answer was no. I then began to talk to Adrian about respect and forgiveness. Explaining respect came easier to me than explaining forgiveness. I told him that respect is treating others how you want to be treated and to value others as human beings because we are all worthy no matter our age, gender, or any other differences one has. When I was explaining forgiveness to him I tried to do so in a sense of him letting go of his negative feelings and pain. I told him that forgiveness is understanding that there was a problem with his actions as well as the other kid's actions, realizing that there was hurt and pain on both sides, and choosing to let go of that anger so he can move forward and find peace. ... • 39. Nonverbal Communication And Body Language Body language (the process of communicating nonverbally through conscious or unconscious gestures and movements). People all of the world use body language or gestures to communicate nonverbally. I personally think that nonverbal communication and body language are one of the biggest barriers in communication especially between one culture to other. Body gestures can be misinterpreted as rude or disrespectful depending on the country, region, or even the city you're from. A few for example, in some countries the two fingers up to make the peace sign and also the thumbs up sign can be considered rude. In some places, the ok sign that we use with our hand is considered a sign of the devil 666, but in France it means nothing as in zero and not ok or great. In some places can't, huge men and women can't huge each other if the opposite sex isn't a family. In Haiti which is a French speaking country it is rude to shrug the shoulder when communicating with older people. The shrug of the shoulder is only use with your friends. Also, in Haiti kissing on the cheek like in France is for family friend I not greet that way it's a sign that something with wrong in relationship between you and the person, and the men to men don't kiss on the cheeks they will just shack hands.
