with that person in life or some may even just like the poem in general. The poem, "Ballad of Birmingham," is one of the greatest poems I have
ever read. It is telling the story of African American's and what they went through during that time period. There is a very strong historical and social

Social context also played a role on this poem. The story of the little girls played a big role on the background of this poem. This was a terrible day
in history for Americans and African American's and to the families who lost a loved one. There were four little girls who died during the
bombing their names were the late Addie Mae Collins, the late Denise McNair, the late Carole Robertson, and the late Cynthia Wesley. When

The Common Man In Robert Bolt's A Man For All Seasons
In the opening lines of A Man for All Seasons by Robert Bolt, the Common Man proclaims, "It is perverse! To start a play made up of Kings and
Cardinals in speaking costumes and intellectuals with embroidered mouths, with me" (3). The Common Man cannot believe that Bolt is choosing to
start off a play of Kings and Cardinals with a man such as himself. He does not believe he, a Common Man, is worthy of this role. Within these
opening lines the reader is faced with a question, why did Bolt chose to allow the Common Man to begin the play? Bolt is attempting to make a point
about the presence of ordinariness and conformity, using Kings and Cardinals as an example of characters who attempt to rise above and try to make a
difference.
To begin, the play opens with a monologue by the Common Man. Bolt introduces the Common Man in the opening lines with a monologue to show
that the actions of the Common Man are important to the play. To further justify the Common Mans purpose in the play; Bolt makes the Common Man
a narrator for the play. The Common Man takes on roles similar to a narrator by re–explaining scenes and finding ways to engage the audience.
Continuing within the first few opening lines, the audience learns about the Common Man's basket of costumes and props that he uses to carry out
his various roles in the play, "(Backing towards the basket) Well, for a proposition of my own, I need a costume. (Take out and puts on the coat and
hat of Steward) Matthew! The Household of Steward of Sir Thomas More!" (3). This basket introduces not only all the roles the Common Man has
throughout the play but it also signifies his importance to the play within just the first few pages. No other character was chosen to play multiple roles
in this play. Bolt chose to give the Common Man these extra roles and narrator position because he knew he would be able to conform to such roles.
As well as pointing out the Common Man's multitude of roles in the play, Bolt also distinguishes the Common Man's ability to make choices that go
against his moral compass in order to stay alive, unlike More. The contrast between More's willingness to die for what he believes in, and the Common
Man's unwillingness to stand up for anything at all,

The characters of the film face both internal and external conflict. The internal conflict is should I continue this life when I know I am innocent,

The play that I went to see was Beautiful: The Carol King Musical. I attended opening night of this play on Tuesday, February 21st of this year. This
musical is about the true and remarkable story of her uprising career. Carol started off as a song writer when she was only a teen writing with her

A Letter from Birmingham Jail Rhetorical Analysis
A Letter from Birmingham Jail written by Martin Luther King Jr. was a defence strategy of nonviolent resistance to racism. The Birmingham campaign
commenced on April 3rd of 1963, it was a march coordinated to protest against racism and racial segregation in Birmingham, Alabama. The campaign
was entirely nonviolent and was coordinated by the Alabama Christian Movement for Human Rights including Dr. King'sSouthern Christian
Leadership Conference. On April 10th, Judge Jenkins issued a blanket injunction going against "parading, demonstrating, boycotting, and trespassing."
Leaders of these two campaigns said they were going to disobey this rule they were given. A few days later on April 12th, Martin Luther King Jr. was
arrested along with other activist leaders.
Once Dr. King arrived to Birmingham jail, he was faced with difficult conditions. An ally of his sneaked in a newspaper that was published on April
12th. There was a statement written by eight clergymen called "A Call for Unity," which went against what King and his campaign were implementing
on the streets of Birmingham, Alabama. The statement enraged Dr. King to write a response. Dr. King used logos in the letter to help support his
counter argument against the clergymen. "In spite of my shattered dreams.." King wrote, "... I came to Birmingham with the hope that the religious
leadership... Would see the justice." By stating this, he showed pathos. King put into words that through the process to end segregation, there was
hardship along the way, and dreams were destroyed by other people's actions who did not display care towards the black community.
The city of Birmingham pervaded with brutal police officers, unjust courts, and bombings of Negro homes that were unsolved. He is being
knowledgeable, moral and reasonable. He is being reasonable when he says that there is injustice everywhere, not just the South. He is knowledgable
when the clergymen told him he needs to wait and responds with that he has waited for about three hundred and forty years. He finally shows morality

During the spring and summer, black students involved in the movement, would take buses and trains around the south. This all took place in the
south on May 4, 1961, the volunteers black and white were known as the freedom rider. These volunteers were brought in with the help of Martin
Luther King Jr., CORE (The Congress of Racial Equality), and the SNCC ( The Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee). There were more than a

This march was a very significant part of the movement. This march also led to the speech that moved people of all races and genders. Martin
Luther King Jr. delivered one of the most well known speeches known today. Martin's "I Have a Dream" speech talks to the people about equality
and racial justice. The day before his speech Martin Luther King Jr., Wyatt Walker and others, helped Martin get in a state to write his speech.
Wyatt Walker actually advised Martin to not use his "I Have a Dream" speech. Wyatt's explanation was that King had used, "I Have a Dream" in
many other speeches prior to this one, he thought it would be to much. Martin agreed he knew this speech had to be different. This was the first
time he was going to speak to a whole civil rights group. The event was a big deal because it was going to be shown on all three television
networks live. Kings staff offered multiple different opinions and suggestions about the speech. Yet, King was still not sure what he was going to
do. He told his staff " I am now going upstairs to my room to counsel with my Lord."(Younge ) King finished the speech, but "I Have a Dream" was
not in the speech. So as King began to say his speech he began to rally the a people, and then one of King's friends Mahalia Jackson cried out from
