MANAGEMENT AT CAMPCO LTD.
MANGALORE”

OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY
 To identify the existence of stress in the organization.
 To study the factors causing stress among the
employees.
 To understand the impact of stress on employee
performance.
 To find out the remedial measures to overcomes from
the stress..
RESEARCH DESIGN
Type of research :descriptive.
Sampling technique :convenience sampling.
Sample size :50
Sample unit :employees in middle level mgt.
Research instrument :questionnaire
DATA COLLECTION
Primary data: collected from employees using questionnaire
Secondary data: from company manuals, magazines and
internet.
TOOLS FOR DATAANALYSIS
 Simple percentage method

 Chi-square test
 Sampling plan
Employees of CAMPCO Ltd. Mangalore
LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY
 The duration of the study was limited to a period
of 45 days, so an extensive and deep study could
not be possible.
 Study is confined to Head office Mangalore
only.
 The data collected from respondents may be
biased, due to lack of time to be spent on filling
questionnaire.
i. It is found out that majority of the
respondent have a positive attitude
towards work. This is evident as
most of them accept any work given
which is new to them.(70%#Qus.6)

2. 58% of the respondents have agreed that
they lose their temper while they are
stressed at work (Qus.8),hence suitable
measures can be taken to avoid the
stress at work.

4) 76% of the respondents are not aware about
the stress level of their colleagues. This may be
because of poor interpersonal relation.

SUGGESTIONS
 The company should provide frequent counseling to
the employees in order to over come stress.
 The counseling should be focused on building up
interpersonal relationship between the employees
and superiors.
 Company should implement certain changes in order
to overcome stress in the work place such as work
load and periodic relaxation
 Stress through lack of communication can be
overcome through get to gathers, birthday parties,
recreational tours, outbound training that are been
conducted by the organization.

The test statistics is:
Degrees of freedom = (r-1) (c-1)
(2-1) (5-1) = 1*4 = 4
At 5% level of significance
χ2 = 9.488
Table value = 13.063
INTERPRETATION
Since the calculated value (13.063) is greater than the
table value (9.488), we reject the null hypothesis and
accept the alternative hypothesis. Hence it is clear
that stress management has significant impact on the
job satisfaction.

LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY  The duration of the study was limited to a period of 45 days, so an extensive and deep study could not be possible.  Study is confined to Head office Mangalore only.  The data collected from respondents may be biased, due to lack of time to be spent on filling questionnaire.

SUGGESTIONS  The company should provide frequent counseling to the employees in order to over come stress.  The counseling should be focused on building up interpersonal relationship between the employees and superiors.  Company should implement certain changes in order to overcome stress in the work place such as work load and periodic relaxation  Stress through lack of communication can be overcome through get to gathers, birthday parties, recreational tours, outbound training that are been conducted by the organization.

  • 20. INTERPRETATION Since the calculated value (13.063) is greater than the table value (9.488), we reject the null hypothesis and accept the alternative hypothesis. Hence it is clear that stress management has significant impact on the job satisfaction.
