NICU Knitting Hats
Hats and Peas Guide to knitting for babies in the NICU: There are no rules for knitting items for babies in the NICU but there are things that need
to be done in a specific way to ensure that the items are good for these sensitive preemies. The general rule is that the items have to be soft and can
be washed easily. Preemie babies have premature organs, including skin, which makes only the softest of soft fabrics and yarns suitable for their
tender skin. The fabrics also have to hold up to being washed in very hot water and dried in a hot dyer to kill germs. Why we created Hats and Peas?
NICU's are always in need of hats, blankets, and sleep sacks. Most hat companies do not make preemie hats for babies that weigh less than 1 lb to 3lbs,

Warm Hat Essay
This super comfortable and warm hat is a quick and easy knitting project that an individual can do without having to crochet or do traditional
knitting. As a beginner, using looms is the easiest way to work with yarn projects. There are a bunch of types of looms that can be used to make hats,
scarves, ear warms, bag, etc. A bunch of projects can be done on a loom without having any experience inknitting or crochet. This hat can be done on a
round loom, the size will depend if it is done for an adult or a child. For this project, the hat will be for an adult size.
Time needed: 2–3 hours
Materials needed:

Start from the peg that is to the left of the anchor peg. Push the hook under the two bottom strands of the yarn and pull it up over the top strands of
the yarn. The groove in the beg is very helpful for this process. Now loop the bottom yarn over all around the loom. To continue knitting, wrap around
all the pegs again from the begging on the beg right above the anchor peg and then bring the bottom yarn loop over the top of the peg again. Once
there is about an inch or two of stitches done, take the yarn of the anchor peg so that it is not pulling as the project is continued. About fifteen rows
need to be knitted to continue to the next step.
Step 5: Knitting the brim
After knitting a few rows, fold them over so there is a doubled over bit of knitting. This makes the hat look more finished and also helps keep the hat
in place on the head. To knit the brim, bring up the tail from the initial part of the hat and loop it around to the right of the anchor peg. Put the loops
all the way around the loom then finish the brim by using the hook to loop the pull the bottom yarn loops over the top loops. Now the brim is secure,
wrap the pegs and start knitting as normal again.

Basic Instructions For Knitting All Animals
Basic Instructions for Knitting All Animals
Heads and Tails
No matter which animal you're making, the basic leg and body patterns and assembly instructions are the same. You'll find these patterns and
instructions on the next pages of this document.
The head, tail, and details are what make each animal distinct and different. These patterns and instructions – as well as optional changes for the legs
and bodies – are found in the specific animal instruction pages in a separate document.
Materials and Tools
The great thing about making these animals is that you're free to use whatever colors and sizes of yarn that you already have on hand, or that fit the
needles you already own. Larger yarns and needles make larger animals.
There are only two rules regarding the materials and tools you should use:
Use a similar weight of yarn for the entire animal.
Use knitting needles at least two sizes smaller than those recommended for the yarn you want to use. This makes the stitches tighter so they don't
stretch and show the stuffing.
Basics
The general instructions for all animals are:
Work in stockinette stitch (knit on the right side and purl on the wrong side) unless otherwise noted.
Patterns show only rows with increases, decreases, or color changes. When a row isn't shown on a pattern, continue in stockinette stitch without any
changes from the previous row.
When casting on and binding off, leave enough yarn to sew seams with later.
Head, tail, and detail

Reflection Paper On Volleyball Player
This Club season, I would like to improve my knowledge of the sport, understand how to be a supportive teammate, and develop into a better and more
experienced volleyball player.
The position I enjoy the most is the outside hitter. I am fond of this position because I am not only a skilled and talented hitter, but I am also useful in
backrow. Therefore, an outside hitter is my desired position because I believe this is where I would be the most useful to the team.
I would absolutely consider playing another position because I desire to support my team in anyway the coaches see fit.
A position I am not willing to play is right side hitter because in a previous club season, I was placed in that position and I did not get much playing
time and I felt as though I was not benefitting my team in any way. Also, I enjoy passing in the backrow and the position of right side hitter is only a
front row position.
My grade point average is a 98.75. My grades currently range from a 97–100%. School is a very big aspect of my life and my goal is to continue to
move forward in my studies.
On average, I study anywhere from one hour to three hours a night causing me to have plenty of free time that could be used more productively.
I am motivated by goals and I feel it is very important to set goals for yourself in every aspect of your life. I am also motivated by rewards and my
personality causes me to want to fulfill all of the potential possible for me.
My motivation increases when I am being supported by the people around me because then I will not want to let them down. My parents also
motivate me to do my best because they have set a very high expectation for me, causing me to work for what I want. Yelling and fear of failure both
decrease my motivation. When I am in an environment that I feel comfortable in, my motivation will increase, however, if I am in a space where I
feel judged, I tend to not be motivated.
I have led by example when I tell the truth instead of taking the easy way out, when I take credit for my actions and not sabotage my teammates. I
also lead by example when I listen to and follow instructions as well as when I am persistent and determined to reach a goal or support my teammates.

Essay about The Art of Knitting and Crocheting
I have always liked fiber and assorted yarn. I am like a child in a candy store whenever I go to the yarn store. The hanks of fiber arranged by color
mesmerize me, calling for me to bring them home, to see what I will create with them. I love how the yarn store is organized by color and wool
textures. They challenge me, taunting me, begging me to turn the colorful skein into a one of a kind handcrafted creation. Will this colorful skein ofyarn
become knotted to make an afghan, a sweater, socks or hats? The combinations are endless but lead to the great debate among yarn enthusiast, do I knit
or do I crochet? Knitting is completed in rows and follows block construction, where as crochet can travel in any direction and takes on a ... Show more

The process of knitting gives you a structural fabric. Unfortunately, if your garment becomes snagged, the snagged stitch will pull and pucker the
fabric. This snag will eventually lead to the yarn unraveling. This is called laddering. People who knit find it to be very relaxing. The clicking of
those needles as you work back and forth over the cast yarn can in the end produce a wonderful scarf, or afghan, or sweater each one stitched with
love. Crochet on the other hand, is for us rebellious souls, who like the freedom of letting the yarn take on a life of its own. With just a hook and
wrapping the yarn in loops around that hook, you can create things you could never do with knitting. You are not limited to a foundation block; you
can go off into a variety of directions. Gone are the days of being square, with crochet you can make a variety of geometric shapes. The earliest
crochet was made by using fingers, rather than the hooks used today. The history can be traced back to the early 1500 BC, as part of nun's work,
which included needlepoint lace and bobbin lace. (Bardum) Crocheting like knitting is therapeutic. For me it is calming, with rhythmic movement. Yet
at the same time, it works up faster than knitting and gives me the satisfaction of producing a piece much quicker. Crocheting is for us ordinary folk
who simply enjoy the feeling of accomplishing something after a hard day of

My Reflection Of Writing
As an English 100 student, I have learned that I am not as good at writing as I thought I was. As the year has progressed, the assignments seem to
have become more tedious. I have also not taken the necessary steps to create a good essay as I did on my first few assignments. In my first essay, I
carefully planned my essay and made sure that I actually understood what was being asked of me. As the essays were assigned in rapid succession, I
became more careless. Due to this, my essay scores have dropped significantly. My first essay assigned in English 100 was, MICKY D. This essay is
an observational essay that explained how my workplace, McDonald's, is considered a discourse community. My initial grade on this essay was a 90%.
The next assigned essay was a literary narrative essay called "How I Got These Scars." This essay was about me learning how to ride my first "big kid
bike". This essay was very difficult because I was having trouble remembering my past experience of learning how to ride a bike. The memories were
very vague and it is difficult for me to be creative enough to add fictitious statements to the essay. The grade for this essay was an 89% before
revisions. My final essay was over an informative essay called, The Graft. The Graft is about my experiences with the processes that lead up to me
getting my knee cartilage graft. This essay was poorly executed which lead to an initial grade of 73%. My grades have significantly dropped due to a
decrease in effort and

The Importance Of Gadils
The use of collagen, alginate, and chitin fibers have increased in medical and surgical applications due to the promotion of healing (Pillai, Paul, &
Sharma, 2009). When alginate fibers are used for wound–contact layers, the reaction between the alginate and the exuding wound forms a sodium
calcium alginate gel (Horrocks & Anand). The gel is hydrophilic in nature, permeable to oxygen, and impermeable to bacteria, and make a contribution
to the creation of new tissue (Horrocks & Anand). Gauze, lint, and wadding the other textile materials used for wound–dressing applications (Rajendran

Compression bandages are designed to exert a required amount of compression on the leg when applied at a constant tension. They are used for the
treatment and prevention of deep vein thrombosis, leg ulceration (Partsch et al., 2008) . They are made of woven and contain cotton and elastomeric
fiber yarns or warp and weft knitted in both tubular and fully fashioned form (Partsch et al., 2008). Another kind of bandages is called Orthopedic
cushion bandages, mainly used under plaster casts and compression bandages to provide padding, comfort (Rigby et al., 1997b). Nonwoven orthopedic
bandages are produced from polyurethene foams, polyester fibers, or polypropylene fibers containing blend of natural and synthetic fibers (Rigby et al.,

Artificial kidney, liver, and lungs are the mechanical organs used for blood purification. They are called extra–corporeal devices and represent another
category of medical textiles (Peppas & Langer, 1994). The artificial kidney is made of a bundle of hollow regenerated–cellulose fibers in the form of
cellophane that contain the unwanted waste materials (Hongu & Phillips, 1997). Numerous layers of the artificial kidney composed the multilayer

Two Cases Of Ethical Behavior
Introduction
In this essay I will present two cases of unethical behavior and analyze them from the decision–maker point of view. These cases are those of severely
unethical behavior which often occur in the modern world. The cases will bring up topics of wrong advertisement and targeting, fraud and supply
efficiency.
The first case is about huge misleading customers by New Balance company. This company came up with a model of sneakers that was called as
"hidden beauty secret". By using reputation of the company and advertisement power New Balance created an illusion of usual sneakers that can help
people to burn calories thereby to lose extra weight. New Balance Company introduced new sole and tongue for its sneakers that can help people to
lose kilograms.
The second case is about Chinese company – Sanlu Group. This company produced milk and baby food by using the chemical element melamine
which is used for producing plastics. This led to a massive poisoning amongst children and adults in China.
These two cases demonstrate the unethical behavior aimed at clients of these two companies and the aim of this paper is to highlight the effects of a

once. For an Introduction for this model company said that walking in those shoes is equal to running on sand (Reuters, 2011). Company proved that
fact by saying that new tongue and sole of sneakers will help people to use certain muscles while walking. Basically, due to the fact of higher body

The various reasons which motivated Dore – Dore to convert to cells are as follows:
* Improved quality of the products due to reduced defects * Designs can be easily adapted to market trends due to decrease throughput time.
Example: The average sewing throughput time of a garment dropped from 15 working days to 1 working day by converting sewing department setup
from traditional to cellular. * Results in low inventory and in turn low cost of inventory management freeing idle capital. * Workers in cellular
operations are more flexible due to cross training. * Wait time between each operation is reduced. * Can plan for more than two annual collections *
Stocks can be supplied to wholesalers on a daily basis to reduce burden * Reduction in WIP by converting to

Strategy description
Revenue maximization:Our strategy main for round one was to focus on maximizing revenue. We did not want the revenue to ever drop from
$1000, so we took action based on the utilization rates of the machines. We needed to have sufficient capacity to maintain lead times of less than a
day and at most, 1 day and 9 hours. Based on the linear decrease in revenue after a lead time of one day, it takes 9 hours for the revenue to drop to
$600 and our profits to be $0. In terms of when to purchase machines, we decided that buying machines as early as possible would be ideal as there
was no operating costs after the initial investment in the machine. Having more machines seemed like a win–win situation since it does not ... Show

In particular, station 1 had a dangerously high utilization rate, maxing at 0.91 at day 17 and averaging 0.6 for the rest of the first 50 days.
Therefore, we immediately purchased a machine 1 when the game started. After monitoring for a day, we saw that the utilization of machines 2
and 3 were quite high at around 80%. We knew that we were at the start of the game and would have increasing demand, so we decided to purchase
a machine 3 and change the priority of machine 2 to station 2. Because utilization of station 1 was still high on Day 53 and we anticipated an
increasing arrival of a high number of jobs, we made the purchase of an extra machine at Station 1 to accommodate any other spikes in job arrivals,
leaving us with 3 machine 1's. On Day 64, there was yet another spike in the number of job arrivals which we were able to anticipate by purchasing
the extra machines prior. We considered purchasing a machine 2, but put it off as we thought we should collect more data. On Day 67, we decided that
since demand would still increase, we might as well purchase another machine 2. Although these purchases took huge cuts into our initial cash balance
thus limiting the amount of interest we received, our early poor rankings saw dramatic improvements as the demand of products began to increase and
other teams began losing revenue. By making the initial investments and watching the data, we were able to maintain low lead times and maintain

Analysis Of The Poem ' Oboe Concerto No '
In Oboe Concerto No. 3 in G minor HWV 287 by George Fredric Handel, the listener is subjected to a lengthy journey of sound, in which the mind is
stimulated with various parts of music. The four movements express a decent amount of change from the movement before it, which keeps the listener
engaged throughout the whole piece. The tempo, which is defined as the general speed of the music, starts off as a nice average speed. It's not too fast
or slow, though it does increase or decrease later in the piece. In the first movement, however, I would guess that the tempo is somewhere between 60
and 65. In the other movements, that number would change because the piece itself changes and the listener gets to experience a nice full range of
tempo. This piece also has a very strong beat throughout all four movements, though the meter, which provides the beat, of the last two movements is
more complex than it is in the first. In the first movement, the meter sounds like it is a 4/4 with a nice strong beat. The dynamics of the music vary in
the movements. The first movement is louder than the other three, while the second movement is quieter than other parts of the music. This provides
a great contrast that keeps the listener engaged. The modality (major or minor) is evident in the title; in this case, the piece is a G minor chord. While
I wouldn't say that the music makes me feel sad or stressed, it does make me feel like something very serious is happening. The harmonic tension of

Making A Hat With A Pom Pom
Making a loom hat with a pom pom takes a lot of time to make your first time, but after a while of making hats with pom poms, you will be able to
make them faster than your first time. The first thing to do before making a hat with the pom pom, is to gather all material needed to make a hat. The
materials you will need are: a circular loom that matches the head size you want to make the hat, a knitting loom tool, a tapestry needle, scissors, yarn
with the color of your choice, and a flexible curve ruler or a regular ruler. These will be all the material you will need to make a loom hat for your
first time. Once you've learned how to make a basic loom hat, you can start using more materials or not as many materials when making a loom hat. ...

The fourth step is where we finally start making the brim of the hat. The brim will take some time to make, but afterwards, everything will be easier to
make the hat. You will need to wrap the string that is attached to the yarn and knot the firsthook you want near the hook of where the knot is on. You
will wrap it around in a circle and continue to do this for each hook next to the previous hook you just wrapped the string around until you reach
back to the beginning of where you started. You will then push down all the wraps down each hook so you can have room to start another row of
where you wrap the string around each hook again. Make sure to not let go of the string so that none of your work done is undone. Once you have
another row done, you must use your knitting tool to grab the first or last wrap you did on the bottom row and pull it over the hook, but make sure
the top row does not come off. I usually grab the bottom wrap on the last and pull it over and continue from there so I don't have to worry about
anything coming undone and I don't have to hold on to the string wrapped around the hook. You then must continue to make a new row each time till
you get 4 rows of the brim. Make sure to not push down the fourth row you did for the next step. The fifth step is to get that knot on the side to leave
the hook. When you have your 4 rows of the brim done, you don't need the knot anymore. You must take it off the hook and untie

Role Of Craftivism In Fashion Industry
The objective of this report is to discuss social responsibility within fashion industry with key focus on the areas of 'Craftivism'. The report will revolve
around the non–profit label Awamaki Lab with founder Kennedy Leavens; who's main aims include welfare of Quechua women weavers in Peru. With
creating close links to feminism and women empowerment with the on going projects within the brand which will be a focal point as we proceed in
the report.
Craftivism as defined by Betsy Greer(2007), who originally coined the term in 2003, " It is a way of looking at life where voicing opinions through
creativity makes your voice stronger, your compassion deeper and your quest for justice more infinite."
Further, in her writings she mentions(2014 p.8) "The creation of things by hands leads to a better understanding of democracy because it reminds us
that we have power".
Bringing together communities of like minded people and working towards a goal or using traditional techniques of handwork is used to speak to
current political situations, they are referred to as micro utopias. These craftists' processes are more important than the end product. (Buszek and
Robertson)
Craftivism has roots emerging from third wave feminism as there have been general agreements about crafts being referred to as household and
domesticated, one such example is knitting where women are idealised making knits for their family in their leisure time.
Goggin(2014) discusses how craftivism was initiated

Technology And Technology Essay
We hear again and again that Artificial Intelligence (AI) and robots are going to take away human jobs. This is not a new concern as many
inventions from past 200 years are made to substitute human power. But the arrival of two new technologies "Cloud robotics" and "deep learning"
(Pratt, 2015) could result in an explosive growth and there is no way to stop the inevitable changes. Besides, it is also observed that economy has
always adapted to the new changes. In this essay I will identify the reasons that technology can reduce work load, labour and humans will not have
a jobless future as technology always give scope for new developments and new jobs. One basic example of that is agriculture. In the 1900s, 41
percent of the U.S. labour force worked on farms. Today it's 2 percent (Autor, 2015). Obviously, mechanization made the economy a better off rather
than destroying it. Food is now reasonably priced as compared to what it was relative to income, and as a result, people have money to spend on
other things and they've transitioned to jobs in other areas. Modern philosophers say that there is scope to repeat the same thing again. Kessler (2017)
stated that approximately around 500 years ago, Queen Elizabeth I cited the fear of joblessness when she denied a patent for an automated knitting
machine. "I have too much regard for the poor women and unprotected young maidens who obtain their daily bread by knitting to forward an invention
which, by depriving them of

The R & D Is Responsible For 3 Of The 4 Buying Criteria
Module 1
Discussion 1
Based on the information from the capstone, the R&D is responsible for 3 of the 4 buying criteria. Therefore, it is important to review the capstone
courier and the industry conditions report prior to making any decisions. With that being said, all the decisions made within the R&D are based on the
information from both of these reports. A manager must be knowledgeable of what our customers wants, therefore, it would be wise to understand the
five segments of customers and the significance of performance, size, age and reliability. In addition, products are redesigned based on performance,
size, mtbf is changing and we must remember that the revisions dates do not (change) going into the next year. Also, by increasing the performance
increases the material cost of production. Therefore, R&D in production either affects or affected by material cost, purchases of new facilities and
automation levels. In addition, it is important to remember that capacity and automation should be purchased one year in advance.
Discussion 2
In the marketing section it is important to understand the importance of the 4P's (product, price, promotion and place) all of these are important as to
how the company makes decisions the R&D is responsible for the product and the marketing is focused on price, promotion and place. Therefore,
when a product price either increase or decrease, this has an effect on each segment's expected price range. Therefore, it is important to use the

Summary In Dana Gioia'sWhy Literature Matters?
Against the downturn in American literary compassion which encompasses the reading industry in a negative fashion, in his article "Why literature
matters", Dana Gioia has depicted reading as a core asset in any intellect–based society or civic spheres. By lending his American readers' ears on the
claims voiced by prominent figures, the author aims to show young readers how their growing dislike toward literature will ensure future occupational
hardships and poor social engagement.
The article starts with Dana Gioia scheming the extreme difference between the changes accomplished by art and other social facets (income, college
turnout, information accessibility) in American society. By using contradicted phrases in the first paragraph: "diminishing" versus "rise to an
unforeseen level", "ballooned", "enormously increase"; the author highlights the disparity in American development pace and how attention is being
shifted away from artistic appeal. While some may think that this claim is evident less, the author cites the 2002 Survey of Public Participation in the
Arts, a study which shows that "arts participation by Americans has declined for eight of the nine major forms that are measured" in the study. This
decline has been more severe in young adults from ages eighteen to twenty–four, and it is especially worrisome when accounting for other parts of a
successful person's life. This fact gives some background information to the arguments in the article and can make the article easier to understand
especially for people who haven't learned about this phenomenon yet. In a way, this can be the base of a pyramid of arguments presented in the article.
After successfully driving readers' attention towards the issue addressed, Dana Gioia goes on with the discussion of the effects of reading on the current
occupational scenario where the working hierarchy does not appear as a single entity, but as two separated blocks instilled with different verses of
argument. In doing so, the author could comprehensively inspect how reading comes to affect all classes from the working community. Following a
downward trajectory, the author first discusses about the uppermost layer where managers and leaders reside. Reciting the

The, Your Body Language Shapes Who You Are By Amy Cuddy
Almost every night, my parents would tell me to sit up straight when we were eating at the dinner table, and they would say it would help me digest.
Also, in high school when I would walk through the halls between classes, many of my friends would compliment me on my posture. I thought it was
the strangest thing to compliment someone on. The title "Your Body Language Shapes Who You Are," brought back these memories; therefore, I was
interested to see what Amy Cuddy had to say. Cuddy is a social psychologist and a business professor at Princeton. In the TED Talk "Your Body
Language Shapes Who You Are," Amy Cuddy discusses the reasons to usepower posing, and it could affect the mind for better success in our lives.
Altogether, the discussion was well structured and it started with involvement from the large crowd. Cuddy asks how they are sitting in their seats
during the moment. "We're fascinated with body language, and we're particularly interested in other people's body language" (Cuddy). In short, we
have judgements of other people's nonverbal communication. When she said body language is communication and people can judge for it, I do agree
that it is communication to an extent, and not everyone notices body language. For example, many children and teens may not care to acknowledge,
unless it was over exaggerated and distracting. She gave two great examples to support her reasoning from research studies: "Nalini Ambady, a
researcher at Tufts University, shows that when

Personal Narrative-Knitting
I'm only sixteen, but I've been a grandmother for years. I know the recipe for butterscotch brownies by heart, I have a strong penchant for sweaters,
and I love to knit. When I joined knitting club as an overly excited freshman, I expected it to be one of the clubs where I was planning on going to
a meeting or two and and then never show up again, but I was so very wrong. Knitting quickly became an integral part of my life and helped me
forge new and rekindle old friendships throughout the years. The first piece I ever knit was supposed to be a dishcloth, but it ended up looking more
like a rainbow blob. When I look at it now, I'm almost embarrassed by how awful it looks, but at the time, it had felt like I'd just created a priceless
masterpiece.

Comparing Knitting And Abortion
"Knitting" by Amy Olson–Binder and "Abortion" by Anne Sexton are two poems about the idea of loosing baby. The two narrators present the
character of both of poems through the mother's point of view, which making the poems seem more of authentic experience. The symbolism of the
Knitting poem emerges into the title of its – "Knitting" and the abortion poem emerges into "a crayoned cat, its green hair". In these poems, Amy and
Anne use the simple symbolism but the images are strong. They provide the readers the depth of emotion, a deep sadness and sense of loss.
In the Knitting poem, Amy uses the knitting as the metaphor. It is effective because a baby begins with cells joining and gradually forms human

It is effective because it presents that the woman thinks about when a babies grow up. They will able to paint a crayoned cat as its green hair. Also,
the other image is "its roads sunken in like a gray washboard", suggests me to think about the loss through her flat stomach. The mother is possibly
regretted, as she would not be able to keep her child in her womb. The narrator uses the repetition of the line, which begins the poem; "Somebody
who should have been born is gone." This appears three times in the poem emphasizing that a person who could have grown into a child crayoning
cats with green hair has no longer to exist. It leads me think about the narrator attempt to show what the character's thinking. Furthermore, "the
ground cracks evilly". Evilly is a strong adverb, which suggests the moral dilemma of choosing to kill her child. This also forcing herself to confront
the truth of what she has done, knowing that explaining it away amounts to "loss without death" This provides the personal, reflective, and possibly
regretful tone of the poem as they are linked to the idea that the mother choses to kill her baby. The idea of the "you coward" provides the guilt
emotion of the woman that experience with when she looses her child. Also the ends with "this baby that I bleed" it is very challenge image that leads

Subculture Of Knitting
When some of us hear about knitting, we might automatically picture our grey–haired grandmother sitting on the couch casting on stitches to her
knitting needles, but since recently, this perception has started to shift. In this essay, I will look at the many ways in which the subculture of knitting
helps reduce depression. First, I will be discussing how knitting creates communities that help reduce depression. I will then be describing how taking
time to knit reduces depression. Furthermore, I will express how the colors and texture of knitting yarn has the capability of reducing depression. Next,
it will be mentioned how knitting allows freedom of expression which in turn reduces depression. Lastly, I will discuss how knitting helps to build ...

metro one day to find many trees "yarn bombed". It was interesting to see all the different colors that were blended together so beautifully. It was as
though it was meant to be there all along. The many textures and techniques that were used were pleasing to the eye and it was difficult to look

most of us usually do in the busy city, we took the time to stop and admire what we saw in front of us. People would exchange words with each other
about their impressions about the color usage and about how unusual it was to see knitted projects placed in and around the trees. These people would
usually walk by each other without so much as a glance, but it was the knitting that brought them together. The very idea that individuals have the

Examples Of Tension In Act 1 Scene 1
Every great scene as every movie or story follows a certain structure. Starting with an introduction, continues with progressive middle, and ends with
the climax. Every character is coming into the scene with particular goals. These goals should ultimately collide with goals of another character in
order to make the scene interesting. Changes in scenes and therefore changes in how the goals are being pursued are called scene beats. Your story
will capture audiences only, if you have enough tension. Scene starts with Becca and Izzy. Becca comes through the door, holding a crГЁme brulee
and Izzy talks on the phone and from the conversation, is obvious, she knew the woman she punched earlier. Becca's goal is to discover what actually
happened in the bar and Izzy's goal is to avoid that conversation. Before Becca confronts Izzy about the woman in a bar, they chatter for a little bit. ...

Howie accused Becca of deleting his footage of Danny playing outside. Becca defends herself and says she didn't. That's the first beat. Tension
between them two rises. The argument is moving towards a climax. Howie shifts his strategy and tries to come up with some counter argument. He
thinks of the morning when Becca tried to find a number for a roof guy, but couldn't and kept pressing the screen. Argument continues with series of
counter arguments and then Howie again accuses Becca from deleting the video on purpose to get rid of memories about Danny. Situation changing
action and second beat. Becca holds it together and Howie starts listing things she did to delete Danny from their life. Third beat comes when Becca
actually admits the video was an accident. Revelation of new information happens. Argument is over and for the first time we see Howie completely
lose it and that's the end of the scene. This argument clears the tension between Howie and Becca that was building up throughout the story. They are
both finally ready to move

Knitting Mill
The Schoolroom on the Second Floor of the Knitting Mill starts with a mostly lighter tone. A traditional, happy, school room is depicted. The
speaker expresses that they "miss" the teacher, Mrs. Lawrence, her room, and the school in general. The tone changes at the somewhat ominous
line 15, "somehow it happens," The line of children crosses the threshold and the speaker, Judy, is told she is not a good leader. The tone is
mirrored in the reader's opinion towards Mrs. Lawrence. Informal diction is used and, on a second reading, several words indicate that even from the
beginning the poem may not be as light and sweet as it initially appears. Mrs. Lawrence "carves" her nails, the chimney "[breaks] up the sky", and it is

A Report On The Management System
Section 2: Problem Explained
As stated above, BGC is done after a resource is hired. Now an unverified resource is there in the company which directly alarms security issues if
that resource is found to be fraud or have a criminal background. Several problems hits when a BGC is done after hiring, some of which are:
a)An unidentified resource is in the company which alarms security.
b)No one is sure if the resource is having the proper education criteria which s/he has shown.
c)A resource is to be paid for the time s/he is on bench when he is unbilled by the client which hits direct cost of the company.
d)A resource is using space, water, electricity without getting billed.
e)A resource is not even getting trained and allowed to sit idle.
These are certain issues which no company can ignore as if they fail, it will compromise with the reputation of the company. Although, several
measures has been taken to train the employee while BGC is conducted which will at least reduce the time to get a resource to properly indulge into a
project.
A Better approach is needed because the above situations are such which impact direct cost of the company and it's not like that it can't be eliminated
but necessary steps is to be taken to eliminate them which will reduce direct cost and increase gross margin. Thus a new approach is requires here
which will analyze these issues in depth and propose a solution to eliminate them. To support this, let us talk in terms of revenue, cost and

In summary: The turnaround time (TAT) in the insurance business is very important. This because of the following arguments:
– The most important factor to the agents in the insurance markets is the level of service provided. One of the most important aspects that determine
the service level is the speed of handling the requests (TAT).
– In addition, the factors that drive profitability in the industry are related to the needs of the customers: speed. Therefore, the TAT is also of great
importance for the profitability in the industry. One additional comment, by optimizing the TAT the cost of handling requests is most likely to decrease

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Knitised Fabric
Knitted Fabric:
It is a textile that results from knitting. Its assets are different from woven fabric in that it is more flexible as compared to woven and can be more
eagerly created into small parts, making it ideal for socks and hats.
Spirality:
It's a mutual difficulty in weft knitted fabric. It's the de– twisting tendency of yarn in the fabric. It seems to be typically in single jersey fabrics but in
double jersey fabrics this is approximately equal zero.
The ever–increasing claim of knitted apparels has attracted courtesy in global niche market. In evaluation to woven garment, around 50% of the

Displacement of side seam to the back and front of the body
Garment distortion.
3.Spirality has an evident influence on garment aesthetics.
4. The spirality phenomenon concerns basically disturbed structures such as single jersey fabrics.
Reduction Of Spirality:
1.Compacting:
Compaction decreases the length of the fabric based on its elongation throughout the process which, in turn, decreases the width. It helps in controlling
the shrinkage of the fabric.
2.Resin treatment:
Resin treatment known as cross–linking is occasionally applied on a fabric to reduce the degree of distortion due to spirality. The resin is applied to
the fabric in aqueous solution and is set by fleeting the fabric once through a high temperature stentor.
3.Heat setting: Steam or hot water setting decreases twist sparkle and Spirality.

A Modest Proposal to Trump Concerning the Ban on Immigration The most recent news coming from Washington is the immigration bill that Donald
Trump has just signed into effect. This places a ban on immigration for anyone that is a citizen or naturalized in Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan,
Syria and Yemen. The problem is that Trump is banning a whole people based upon their country of origin when truly only a very small majority of
the people from there are coming for malicious reasons. Although Trump's administration has tried to understate the importance of this act by

Symbolism In Roman Fever
"Roman Fever," by Edith Wharton, follows two old friends, Alida Slade and Grace Ansley, accidentally meeting in Rome after many years apart. The
two have a long history together and spent their whole lies in contest and conflict. Mrs. Slade is a loud and jealous woman, who always held a
deep–rooted resentment for Mrs. Ansley. Mrs. Ansley is the more reserved of the two and self–controlled. The setting of their conversation holds deep
significance. Mrs. Ansley and Mrs. Slade both coincidentally are on vacation in Rome, a place of love and beauty. The two eat dinner together on a
terrace overlooking Rome. The romantic scenery reflects the origin of their rivalry. In their youth, both women vied for the attention of a young man,
Delphin Slade. Mrs. Slade seems anxious to prove her worth over her longtime friend, however, in reality, Mrs. Ansley is the one who has influence
over Mrs. Slade. Wharton uses moonlight and knitting to reveal Mrs. Slade's shallow attempts to project and hold power over Mrs. Ansley, but her
ultimate failure since in the end it is Mrs. Slade who falls apart.
Moonlight serves as a motif, the darker it inches to night, the darker the nature of the women's conversation, and the more panicked Mrs. Slade is. They
sit outside, talking about their daughters in the light of the evening or exchanging in a deep silence. "It seemed as though, to both, as there was a relief
in laying down their somewhat futile activities in the presence of the vast Memento Mori

The Origin Of Knitting
Knitting
Of all the different types of needlework, knitting is one of the most popular. Knitting is a specific type of needlework that is identified by the process
of looped stitches pulled through one another. Knitting is commonly used to make clothing and accessories such as hats, scarves, sweaters and gloves,
as well as blankets and afghans. Most commercially produced knitted items are made with knitting machines; their high speed is indispensable for
meeting the demands of the world economy. Knitting machines have not done away with human knitting, however; far from it, knitting has gone
through a recent resurgence in popularity as a craft and hobby.
One of the great things about knitting is that you can make a wide variety of items with the same relatively simple steps. Just select a different type of
yarn and a different variation in your stitch, and you can come up with a very different end product.
The origins of knitting
Archaeologists have found evidence of knitting as far back as the first millennium. Obviously, knitting has been around for a long time. Indeed, even the
ancient Egyptians are known to have knitted colorful socks and other accessories. It is generally thought that the first peoples to use knitting to make

means to keep warm and clothed. After the knitting machine, blankets and clothing were mass–produced far more cheaply than any one person making
it. For this reason, knitting today is primarily a recreational pursuit. Knitters enjoy gathering together to socialize. People love to knit because it can
be an extremely relaxing way to pass the time and ease one's nerves. The products of their pastimes are often presented as gifts, which can save you

Learning To Knitting
Reasons for Learning to Knit
Knitting was something I had never thought much about wanting to try until I asked my friend where she bought her hat from and she told me she
knitted it herself. I was so surprised because I had expected that she purchased it from an expensive boutique that she works at. After talking with her
about the process and cost of making her hat, I decided I eventually wanted to take up knitting and make one myself. I kept postponing starting this
new skill for a couple months until I saw that I needed to choose a new occupation to learn for Fundamentals of Occupational Therapy. I was so
excited to have the perfect opportunity to start knitting and also be able to reflect on the process and relate it to occupational therapy.
Supplies and Equipment Needed
In order to begin my knitting project, I needed to research and purchase the correct supplies. After learning more about knitting, I decided that I would
need to purchase yarn, knitting needles, a large sewing needle, pom–pom maker, scissors, and also find a knitting pattern to follow. I chose a thick yarn
so that my hat would have a chunkier appearance, I also learned that the label on the yarn includes instructions for the best size needles to ... Show more

and also determined that I would need a large sewing needle to sew up my hat when it was finished. In addition, I eventually decided to purchase a
pom–pom making device after a couple of failed attempts without one. All of the supplies needed for knitting can be found in fabric and craft stores.
Before and after starting knitting, I found that having access to a computer or phone to quickly search for answers to questions and watch videos was
extremely helpful. I would definitely recommend that beginners take advantage of free online

Theme Of Roman Fever
The plot of Edith Wharton's novella "Roman Fever" is straightforward with a consciously casual setting. Words in Wharton's work are careful and
calculated, each paragraph requires an in–depth scrutiny of content from their original context. In ways "Roman Fever" encourages readers to dig
through the advanced syntax in search of the conveyed messages. Hence, the story focuses mainly on Mrs. Ansley's knitting and its significance in the
novella. When the author addresses Mrs. Ansley's "twist of crimson silk"(69), the descriptive imagery is intentional in the sense that knitting
symbolizes Mrs. Ansley and Mrs. Slade's relationship and foreshadows the dramatic revelations later in the story. The use of frame story to structure
the narrative of their ill–matched friendship illustrates the author's intent to invoke thought and ideas in the reader's naГЇve minds. Thus, although
knitting is an unconscious habit of Mrs. Ansley, it is actually significant because it is an attempt to weave back the disrupted relationship between the
two friends. Hence, knitting as a "crimson" alludes to the intensely passionate love and closure that blinds the two from truly understanding each other
and gives a glimpse of the unstable nature within the upper middle class in society.
The prime narrative trials two wealthy American widows with "time to kill" (69), they reminisce about their past on the terrace of a restaurant in Rome
that overlooked the ruins of the once ancient city.

After reviewing the case at hand, one can see through the brief history of the museum that it was founded since 1925. In 1998, its name changed into
the Jonathon A . Macon Museum of Art, the major benefactor whose endowment helped expending the facility in the district. The Macon Museum has
different collections which are displayed periodically due to space limitations, but each collection is set in its building architecture that accents the
display. This fact makes it impossible for someone to visit... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Board of Trustees had to make several projections which led that
2003 is not likely to bring no more than 1.6 million in county appropriations, low interest rates which will make investments remain flat or decline,
fewer contributions than 2002 and less membership revenues. Yet there was apositive role for auxiliary activities which were intended to produce profit.
The museum image, as explained by the director and Ms. Mercer and based on their marketing research, reflected two images:
1– non–image at all
2– The museum is for specific people.
Therefore, this issue is a serious one, if people cannot find the museum interesting from the first place how would they want to visit it? The museum
offered different educational programs and special exhibitions, and made lots of effort in promotion especially through press relations and local media.
Even though the attendance increases, yet the attendees would be non–MMA members. Nevertheless, such exposure helped in the annual membership
solicitation.
Memberships provide the largest chare of the museum's revenues. As they are divided into two categories, statistics showed that in 2002, personal
memberships accounted almost 80% of membership revenue. Thus the market of the business consists mainly of personal membership more than
corporate. Yet, the estimated cost of member benefits provided exceeded $ 1 million per year, and the principle costs items were:

NICU Knitting Hats

  • 1. NICU Knitting Hats Hats and Peas Guide to knitting for babies in the NICU: There are no rules for knitting items for babies in the NICU but there are things that need to be done in a specific way to ensure that the items are good for these sensitive preemies. The general rule is that the items have to be soft and can be washed easily. Preemie babies have premature organs, including skin, which makes only the softest of soft fabrics and yarns suitable for their tender skin. The fabrics also have to hold up to being washed in very hot water and dried in a hot dyer to kill germs. Why we created Hats and Peas? NICU's are always in need of hats, blankets, and sleep sacks. Most hat companies do not make preemie hats for babies that weigh less than 1 lb to 3lbs, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. Warm Hat Essay This super comfortable and warm hat is a quick and easy knitting project that an individual can do without having to crochet or do traditional knitting. As a beginner, using looms is the easiest way to work with yarn projects. There are a bunch of types of looms that can be used to make hats, scarves, ear warms, bag, etc. A bunch of projects can be done on a loom without having any experience inknitting or crochet. This hat can be done on a round loom, the size will depend if it is done for an adult or a child. For this project, the hat will be for an adult size. Time needed: 2–3 hours Materials needed: yarn needle loom hook scissors knitting loom with at least 20 pegs 1 skeins of chunky yarn Step 1: Choosing the yarn The only problem ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Start from the peg that is to the left of the anchor peg. Push the hook under the two bottom strands of the yarn and pull it up over the top strands of the yarn. The groove in the beg is very helpful for this process. Now loop the bottom yarn over all around the loom. To continue knitting, wrap around all the pegs again from the begging on the beg right above the anchor peg and then bring the bottom yarn loop over the top of the peg again. Once there is about an inch or two of stitches done, take the yarn of the anchor peg so that it is not pulling as the project is continued. About fifteen rows need to be knitted to continue to the next step. Step 5: Knitting the brim After knitting a few rows, fold them over so there is a doubled over bit of knitting. This makes the hat look more finished and also helps keep the hat in place on the head. To knit the brim, bring up the tail from the initial part of the hat and loop it around to the right of the anchor peg. Put the loops all the way around the loom then finish the brim by using the hook to loop the pull the bottom yarn loops over the top loops. Now the brim is secure, wrap the pegs and start knitting as normal again.

  • 4. Basic Instructions For Knitting All Animals Basic Instructions for Knitting All Animals Heads and Tails No matter which animal you're making, the basic leg and body patterns and assembly instructions are the same. You'll find these patterns and instructions on the next pages of this document. The head, tail, and details are what make each animal distinct and different. These patterns and instructions – as well as optional changes for the legs and bodies – are found in the specific animal instruction pages in a separate document. Materials and Tools The great thing about making these animals is that you're free to use whatever colors and sizes of yarn that you already have on hand, or that fit the needles you already own. Larger yarns and needles make larger animals. There are only two rules regarding the materials and tools you should use: Use a similar weight of yarn for the entire animal. Use knitting needles at least two sizes smaller than those recommended for the yarn you want to use. This makes the stitches tighter so they don't stretch and show the stuffing. Basics The general instructions for all animals are: Work in stockinette stitch (knit on the right side and purl on the wrong side) unless otherwise noted. Patterns show only rows with increases, decreases, or color changes. When a row isn't shown on a pattern, continue in stockinette stitch without any changes from the previous row. When casting on and binding off, leave enough yarn to sew seams with later. Head, tail, and detail ... • 5. Reflection Paper On Volleyball Player This Club season, I would like to improve my knowledge of the sport, understand how to be a supportive teammate, and develop into a better and more experienced volleyball player. The position I enjoy the most is the outside hitter. I am fond of this position because I am not only a skilled and talented hitter, but I am also useful in backrow. Therefore, an outside hitter is my desired position because I believe this is where I would be the most useful to the team. I would absolutely consider playing another position because I desire to support my team in anyway the coaches see fit. A position I am not willing to play is right side hitter because in a previous club season, I was placed in that position and I did not get much playing time and I felt as though I was not benefitting my team in any way. Also, I enjoy passing in the backrow and the position of right side hitter is only a front row position. My grade point average is a 98.75. My grades currently range from a 97–100%. School is a very big aspect of my life and my goal is to continue to move forward in my studies. On average, I study anywhere from one hour to three hours a night causing me to have plenty of free time that could be used more productively. I am motivated by goals and I feel it is very important to set goals for yourself in every aspect of your life. I am also motivated by rewards and my personality causes me to want to fulfill all of the potential possible for me. My motivation increases when I am being supported by the people around me because then I will not want to let them down. My parents also motivate me to do my best because they have set a very high expectation for me, causing me to work for what I want. Yelling and fear of failure both decrease my motivation. When I am in an environment that I feel comfortable in, my motivation will increase, however, if I am in a space where I feel judged, I tend to not be motivated. I have led by example when I tell the truth instead of taking the easy way out, when I take credit for my actions and not sabotage my teammates. I also lead by example when I listen to and follow instructions as well as when I am persistent and determined to reach a goal or support my teammates. One goal for ... • 6. Essay about The Art of Knitting and Crocheting I have always liked fiber and assorted yarn. I am like a child in a candy store whenever I go to the yarn store. The hanks of fiber arranged by color mesmerize me, calling for me to bring them home, to see what I will create with them. I love how the yarn store is organized by color and wool textures. They challenge me, taunting me, begging me to turn the colorful skein into a one of a kind handcrafted creation. Will this colorful skein ofyarn become knotted to make an afghan, a sweater, socks or hats? The combinations are endless but lead to the great debate among yarn enthusiast, do I knit or do I crochet? Knitting is completed in rows and follows block construction, where as crochet can travel in any direction and takes on a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The process of knitting gives you a structural fabric. Unfortunately, if your garment becomes snagged, the snagged stitch will pull and pucker the fabric. This snag will eventually lead to the yarn unraveling. This is called laddering. People who knit find it to be very relaxing. The clicking of those needles as you work back and forth over the cast yarn can in the end produce a wonderful scarf, or afghan, or sweater each one stitched with love. Crochet on the other hand, is for us rebellious souls, who like the freedom of letting the yarn take on a life of its own. With just a hook and wrapping the yarn in loops around that hook, you can create things you could never do with knitting. You are not limited to a foundation block; you can go off into a variety of directions. Gone are the days of being square, with crochet you can make a variety of geometric shapes. The earliest crochet was made by using fingers, rather than the hooks used today. The history can be traced back to the early 1500 BC, as part of nun's work, which included needlepoint lace and bobbin lace. (Bardum) Crocheting like knitting is therapeutic. For me it is calming, with rhythmic movement. Yet at the same time, it works up faster than knitting and gives me the satisfaction of producing a piece much quicker. • 7. My Reflection Of Writing As an English 100 student, I have learned that I am not as good at writing as I thought I was. As the year has progressed, the assignments seem to have become more tedious. I have also not taken the necessary steps to create a good essay as I did on my first few assignments. In my first essay, I carefully planned my essay and made sure that I actually understood what was being asked of me. As the essays were assigned in rapid succession, I became more careless. Due to this, my essay scores have dropped significantly. My first essay assigned in English 100 was, MICKY D. This essay is an observational essay that explained how my workplace, McDonald's, is considered a discourse community. My initial grade on this essay was a 90%. The next assigned essay was a literary narrative essay called "How I Got These Scars." This essay was about me learning how to ride my first "big kid bike". This essay was very difficult because I was having trouble remembering my past experience of learning how to ride a bike. The memories were very vague and it is difficult for me to be creative enough to add fictitious statements to the essay. The grade for this essay was an 89% before revisions. My final essay was over an informative essay called, The Graft. The Graft is about my experiences with the processes that lead up to me getting my knee cartilage graft. This essay was poorly executed which lead to an initial grade of 73%. My grades have significantly dropped due to a decrease in effort and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When alginate fibers are used for wound–contact layers, the reaction between the alginate and the exuding wound forms a sodium calcium alginate gel (Horrocks & Anand). The gel is hydrophilic in nature, permeable to oxygen, and impermeable to bacteria, and make a contribution to the creation of new tissue (Horrocks & Anand). • 9. Two Cases Of Ethical Behavior Introduction In this essay I will present two cases of unethical behavior and analyze them from the decision–maker point of view. These cases are those of severely unethical behavior which often occur in the modern world. The cases will bring up topics of wrong advertisement and targeting, fraud and supply efficiency. The first case is about huge misleading customers by New Balance company. This company came up with a model of sneakers that was called as "hidden beauty secret". By using reputation of the company and advertisement power New Balance created an illusion of usual sneakers that can help people to burn calories thereby to lose extra weight. New Balance Company introduced new sole and tongue for its sneakers that can help people to lose kilograms. The second case is about Chinese company – Sanlu Group. This company produced milk and baby food by using the chemical element melamine which is used for producing plastics. This led to a massive poisoning amongst children and adults in China. These two cases demonstrate the unethical behavior aimed at clients of these two companies and the aim of this paper is to highlight the effects of a wrong decisions made by the heads and CEOs of a huge companies ... We did not want the revenue to ever drop from $1000, so we took action based on the utilization rates of the machines. We needed to have sufficient capacity to maintain lead times of less than a day and at most, 1 day and 9 hours. Based on the linear decrease in revenue after a lead time of one day, it takes 9 hours for the revenue to drop to $600 and our profits to be $0. In terms of when to purchase machines, we decided that buying machines as early as possible would be ideal as there was no operating costs after the initial investment in the machine. Therefore, we immediately purchased a machine 1 when the game started. After monitoring for a day, we saw that the utilization of machines 2 and 3 were quite high at around 80%. We knew that we were at the start of the game and would have increasing demand, so we decided to purchase a machine 3 and change the priority of machine 2 to station 2. Because utilization of station 1 was still high on Day 53 and we anticipated an increasing arrival of a high number of jobs, we made the purchase of an extra machine at Station 1 to accommodate any other spikes in job arrivals, leaving us with 3 machine 1's. On Day 64, there was yet another spike in the number of job arrivals which we were able to anticipate by purchasing the extra machines prior. We considered purchasing a machine 2, but put it off as we thought we should collect more data. On Day 67, we decided that since demand would still increase, we might as well purchase another machine 2. Although these purchases took huge cuts into our initial cash balance thus limiting the amount of interest we received, our early poor rankings saw dramatic improvements as the demand of products began to increase and other teams began losing revenue. • 15. Analysis Of The Poem ' Oboe Concerto No ' In Oboe Concerto No. 3 in G minor HWV 287 by George Fredric Handel, the listener is subjected to a lengthy journey of sound, in which the mind is stimulated with various parts of music. The four movements express a decent amount of change from the movement before it, which keeps the listener engaged throughout the whole piece. The tempo, which is defined as the general speed of the music, starts off as a nice average speed. It's not too fast or slow, though it does increase or decrease later in the piece. In the first movement, however, I would guess that the tempo is somewhere between 60 and 65. In the other movements, that number would change because the piece itself changes and the listener gets to experience a nice full range of tempo. This piece also has a very strong beat throughout all four movements, though the meter, which provides the beat, of the last two movements is more complex than it is in the first. In the first movement, the meter sounds like it is a 4/4 with a nice strong beat. The dynamics of the music vary in the movements. The first movement is louder than the other three, while the second movement is quieter than other parts of the music. This provides a great contrast that keeps the listener engaged. The modality (major or minor) is evident in the title; in this case, the piece is a G minor chord. While I wouldn't say that the music makes me feel sad or stressed, it does make me feel like something very serious is happening. The harmonic tension of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

You will wrap it around in a circle and continue to do this for each hook next to the previous hook you just wrapped the string around until you reach back to the beginning of where you started. The report will revolve around the non–profit label Awamaki Lab with founder Kennedy Leavens; who's main aims include welfare of Quechua women weavers in Peru. With creating close links to feminism and women empowerment with the on going projects within the brand which will be a focal point as we proceed in the report. Craftivism as defined by Betsy Greer(2007), who originally coined the term in 2003, " It is a way of looking at life where voicing opinions through creativity makes your voice stronger, your compassion deeper and your quest for justice more infinite." Further, in her writings she mentions(2014 p.8) "The creation of things by hands leads to a better understanding of democracy because it reminds us that we have power". Bringing together communities of like minded people and working towards a goal or using traditional techniques of handwork is used to speak to current political situations, they are referred to as micro utopias. These craftists' processes are more important than the end product. (Buszek and Robertson) Craftivism has roots emerging from third wave feminism as there have been general agreements about crafts being referred to as household and domesticated, one such example is knitting where women are idealised making knits for their family in their leisure time. • 23. Technology And Technology Essay We hear again and again that Artificial Intelligence (AI) and robots are going to take away human jobs. This is not a new concern as many inventions from past 200 years are made to substitute human power. But the arrival of two new technologies "Cloud robotics" and "deep learning" (Pratt, 2015) could result in an explosive growth and there is no way to stop the inevitable changes. Besides, it is also observed that economy has always adapted to the new changes. In this essay I will identify the reasons that technology can reduce work load, labour and humans will not have a jobless future as technology always give scope for new developments and new jobs. One basic example of that is agriculture. In the 1900s, 41 percent of the U.S. labour force worked on farms. Today it's 2 percent (Autor, 2015). Obviously, mechanization made the economy a better off rather than destroying it. Food is now reasonably priced as compared to what it was relative to income, and as a result, people have money to spend on other things and they've transitioned to jobs in other areas. Modern philosophers say that there is scope to repeat the same thing again. Kessler (2017) stated that approximately around 500 years ago, Queen Elizabeth I cited the fear of joblessness when she denied a patent for an automated knitting machine. "I have too much regard for the poor women and unprotected young maidens who obtain their daily bread by knitting to forward an invention which, by depriving them of ... Therefore, it is important to review the capstone courier and the industry conditions report prior to making any decisions. With that being said, all the decisions made within the R&D are based on the information from both of these reports. A manager must be knowledgeable of what our customers wants, therefore, it would be wise to understand the five segments of customers and the significance of performance, size, age and reliability. In addition, products are redesigned based on performance, size, mtbf is changing and we must remember that the revisions dates do not (change) going into the next year. Also, by increasing the performance increases the material cost of production. Therefore, R&D in production either affects or affected by material cost, purchases of new facilities and automation levels. In addition, it is important to remember that capacity and automation should be purchased one year in advance. Discussion 2 In the marketing section it is important to understand the importance of the 4P's (product, price, promotion and place) all of these are important as to how the company makes decisions the R&D is responsible for the product and the marketing is focused on price, promotion and place. • 27. Summary In Dana Gioia'sWhy Literature Matters? Against the downturn in American literary compassion which encompasses the reading industry in a negative fashion, in his article "Why literature matters", Dana Gioia has depicted reading as a core asset in any intellect–based society or civic spheres. By lending his American readers' ears on the claims voiced by prominent figures, the author aims to show young readers how their growing dislike toward literature will ensure future occupational hardships and poor social engagement. The article starts with Dana Gioia scheming the extreme difference between the changes accomplished by art and other social facets (income, college turnout, information accessibility) in American society. By using contradicted phrases in the first paragraph: "diminishing" versus "rise to an unforeseen level", "ballooned", "enormously increase"; the author highlights the disparity in American development pace and how attention is being shifted away from artistic appeal. While some may think that this claim is evident less, the author cites the 2002 Survey of Public Participation in the Arts, a study which shows that "arts participation by Americans has declined for eight of the nine major forms that are measured" in the study. This decline has been more severe in young adults from ages eighteen to twenty–four, and it is especially worrisome when accounting for other parts of a successful person's life. This fact gives some background information to the arguments in the article and can make the article easier to understand especially for people who haven't learned about this phenomenon yet. In a way, this can be the base of a pyramid of arguments presented in the article. After successfully driving readers' attention towards the issue addressed, Dana Gioia goes on with the discussion of the effects of reading on the current occupational scenario where the working hierarchy does not appear as a single entity, but as two separated blocks instilled with different verses of argument. In doing so, the author could comprehensively inspect how reading comes to affect all classes from the working community. Following a downward trajectory, the author first discusses about the uppermost layer where managers and leaders reside. Reciting the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The, Your Body Language Shapes Who You Are By Amy Cuddy Almost every night, my parents would tell me to sit up straight when we were eating at the dinner table, and they would say it would help me digest. Also, in high school when I would walk through the halls between classes, many of my friends would compliment me on my posture. I thought it was the strangest thing to compliment someone on. The title "Your Body Language Shapes Who You Are," brought back these memories; therefore, I was interested to see what Amy Cuddy had to say. Cuddy is a social psychologist and a business professor at Princeton. In the TED Talk "Your Body Language Shapes Who You Are," Amy Cuddy discusses the reasons to usepower posing, and it could affect the mind for better success in our lives. Altogether, the discussion was well structured and it started with involvement from the large crowd. Cuddy asks how they are sitting in their seats during the moment. "We're fascinated with body language, and we're particularly interested in other people's body language" (Cuddy). In short, we have judgements of other people's nonverbal communication. When she said body language is communication and people can judge for it, I do agree that it is communication to an extent, and not everyone notices body language. For example, many children and teens may not care to acknowledge, unless it was over exaggerated and distracting. She gave two great examples to support her reasoning from research studies: "Nalini Ambady, a researcher at Tufts University, shows that when ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I recall walking out of the metro one day to find many trees "yarn bombed". It was interesting to see all the different colors that were blended together so beautifully. • 33. Knitting Mill The Schoolroom on the Second Floor of the Knitting Mill starts with a mostly lighter tone. A traditional, happy, school room is depicted. The speaker expresses that they "miss" the teacher, Mrs. Lawrence, her room, and the school in general. The tone changes at the somewhat ominous line 15, "somehow it happens," The line of children crosses the threshold and the speaker, Judy, is told she is not a good leader. The tone is mirrored in the reader's opinion towards Mrs. Lawrence. Informal diction is used and, on a second reading, several words indicate that even from the beginning the poem may not be as light and sweet as it initially appears. Mrs. Lawrence "carves" her nails, the chimney "[breaks] up the sky", and it is said that moving over ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These are certain issues which no company can ignore as if they fail, it will compromise with the reputation of the company. Although, several measures has been taken to train the employee while BGC is conducted which will at least reduce the time to get a resource to properly indulge into a project. This places a ban on immigration for anyone that is a citizen or naturalized in Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen. The problem is that Trump is banning a whole people based upon their country of origin when truly only a very small majority of the people from there are coming for malicious reasons. Although Trump's administration has tried to understate the importance of this act by addressing it as a, " 'temporary pause' ", citizens of these seven countries have had their lives in America come to a screeching halt (Kennedy, Merit. • 41. Symbolism In Roman Fever "Roman Fever," by Edith Wharton, follows two old friends, Alida Slade and Grace Ansley, accidentally meeting in Rome after many years apart. The two have a long history together and spent their whole lies in contest and conflict. Mrs. Slade is a loud and jealous woman, who always held a deep–rooted resentment for Mrs. Ansley. Mrs. Ansley is the more reserved of the two and self–controlled. The setting of their conversation holds deep significance. Mrs. Ansley and Mrs. Slade both coincidentally are on vacation in Rome, a place of love and beauty. The two eat dinner together on a terrace overlooking Rome. The romantic scenery reflects the origin of their rivalry. In their youth, both women vied for the attention of a young man, Delphin Slade. Mrs. Slade seems anxious to prove her worth over her longtime friend, however, in reality, Mrs. Ansley is the one who has influence over Mrs. Slade. Wharton uses moonlight and knitting to reveal Mrs. Slade's shallow attempts to project and hold power over Mrs. Ansley, but her ultimate failure since in the end it is Mrs. Slade who falls apart. Moonlight serves as a motif, the darker it inches to night, the darker the nature of the women's conversation, and the more panicked Mrs. Slade is. They sit outside, talking about their daughters in the light of the evening or exchanging in a deep silence. "It seemed as though, to both, as there was a relief in laying down their somewhat futile activities in the presence of the vast Memento Mori ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 43. The Origin Of Knitting Knitting Of all the different types of needlework, knitting is one of the most popular. Knitting is a specific type of needlework that is identified by the process of looped stitches pulled through one another. Knitting is commonly used to make clothing and accessories such as hats, scarves, sweaters and gloves, as well as blankets and afghans. Most commercially produced knitted items are made with knitting machines; their high speed is indispensable for meeting the demands of the world economy. Knitting machines have not done away with human knitting, however; far from it, knitting has gone through a recent resurgence in popularity as a craft and hobby. One of the great things about knitting is that you can make a wide variety of items with the same relatively simple steps. Just select a different type of yarn and a different variation in your stitch, and you can come up with a very different end product. The origins of knitting Archaeologists have found evidence of knitting as far back as the first millennium. Obviously, knitting has been around for a long time. • 47. Theme Of Roman Fever The plot of Edith Wharton's novella "Roman Fever" is straightforward with a consciously casual setting. Words in Wharton's work are careful and calculated, each paragraph requires an in–depth scrutiny of content from their original context. In ways "Roman Fever" encourages readers to dig through the advanced syntax in search of the conveyed messages. Hence, the story focuses mainly on Mrs. Ansley's knitting and its significance in the novella. When the author addresses Mrs. Ansley's "twist of crimson silk"(69), the descriptive imagery is intentional in the sense that knitting symbolizes Mrs. Ansley and Mrs. Slade's relationship and foreshadows the dramatic revelations later in the story. The use of frame story to structure the narrative of their ill–matched friendship illustrates the author's intent to invoke thought and ideas in the reader's naГЇve minds. Thus, although knitting is an unconscious habit of Mrs. Ansley, it is actually significant because it is an attempt to weave back the disrupted relationship between the two friends. Hence, knitting as a "crimson" alludes to the intensely passionate love and closure that blinds the two from truly understanding each other and gives a glimpse of the unstable nature within the upper middle class in society. The prime narrative trials two wealthy American widows with "time to kill" (69), they reminisce about their past on the terrace of a restaurant in Rome that overlooked the ruins of the once ancient city. The Board of Trustees had to make several projections which led that 2003 is not likely to bring no more than 1.6 million in county appropriations, low interest rates which will make investments remain flat or decline, fewer contributions than 2002 and less membership revenues. Yet there was apositive role for auxiliary activities which were intended to produce profit. The museum image, as explained by the director and Ms. Mercer and based on their marketing research, reflected two images: 1– non–image at all 2– The museum is for specific people. Therefore, this issue is a serious one, if people cannot find the museum interesting from the first place how would they want to visit it? The museum offered different educational programs and special exhibitions, and made lots of effort in promotion especially through press relations and local media. Even though the attendance increases, yet the attendees would be non–MMA members. Nevertheless, such exposure helped in the annual membership solicitation. Memberships provide the largest chare of the museum's revenues. As they are divided into two categories, statistics showed that in 2002, personal memberships accounted almost 80% of membership revenue. Thus the market of the business consists mainly of personal membership more than corporate. Yet, the estimated cost of member benefits provided exceeded $ 1 million per year, and the principle costs items were:
