3. • Really well filmed, fantastic transitions from scene to scene
• Fantastic
• Very good. Lots of quite beautiful shots. Liked the opening one with train stripes particularly.
• Thought provoking and well constructed
• Was emotional throughout the start of the trailer, however, it felt a bit repetitive later on as it seemed like the scenes
portrayed very similar scenarios. Trailer could do with a bit more diversity through not only sadness but maybe a
silver lining at some point, just so the viewer has a choice on how to approach a trailer/film like Forget Me Not. 7/10
for me :)
• Well thought out and executed
• Intriguing - I want to see the film.
• Very good
• Good, quite engaging, could be more experimental and include more conventions used in a trailer
• It settled into its style after the first minute. I'm unsure if the speed when the girl is packing her bag is appropriate - it
feels a little amateur (maybe just cut the scene down). The train station shots are great, and I absolutely loved the
shots of the pair arguing in the car - really atmospheric. It's a shame about the wind noise right at the start, though.
• Great opening title sequence. Emotional and dramatic portrayal of the female character.
• An emotive trailer-teen tear jerker for all to enjoy.
• Absolutely loved it I liked the idea of the plot!
• Dramatic
• Very impressive! Professional and slick in presentation. Very emotionally engaging.
• I found the really interesting and it made me want to watch the film and find out what happens.
What did you think of the trailer?
4. What genre would you classify this trailer as?
• Drama
• Drama
• Drama
• Hint of romanticism and a solid Drama piece.
• Serious trauma
• Drama
• Drama
• Romance drama
• Drama. Along the lines of the trailers for "heart-breaking romance films" from America; Age of Adaline etc.. Not quite
my thing, unfortunately!
• Documentary style drama.
• Teen tragedy
• It looks romantic with a bit of drama?
• Rom com Like the fault in our stars
• Drama
• Romantic drama
5. Do you think there is too much or too
little plot given away and why?
• Enough, you can guess the basic plot lines but not know the course the film will take
• I thought it was just right......really !!
• Enough to intrigue.
• Just right left you wondering...
• Too much of gloominess and too little of resolution is hinted at the viewer of trailer. Because we need something to hold on
to when thinking of the trailer, not just sadness. Still fairly captivating.
• About the right amount
• Just enough to want the viewer to see more
• No think it's ok
• I think just the right amount is shown
• Maybe a little too much. Personally, I just think the trailer is too long - too much plot is revealed, and too much of the trailer
is just angsty shots of the girl which are in abundance.
• I think the doctors diagnosis could be more ambiguous. Not quite sure of the relationship with the male character
brother/boyfriend could be more defined?
• It makes me want to watch maybe a bit more of what will happen to the girl would be good (just my opinion!).
• I think it's good but it feel there isn't enough due to there being so many scenes of other things other than the plot?
• Too little what's it about needs more text
• Good balance, it's got my interest but I'm sure there's more content and surprises in the final production to keep me
entertained. I'm left wanting to see how things develop and pan out
• I understood the idea however I wasn't sure completely on the plot
6. What do you think about the soundtrack, does it fit the
trailer and why?
• It fits the trailer as the words are very powerful, and as the song is fairly mellow it works with a sad story
• Perfect is all I can say ! It made me quite emotional ! The song was all about saying what you need to say and the girl in the
trailer has some sort of condition that will affect her brain...so assume time is running out for her to communicate as she is
now. It was an emotional song which fitted the mood of the trailer and the snippet of story conveyed.
• Evocative and slightly worrying.
• Yes it is a young soundtrack
• It does, because of the meanings behind the lyrics. Tempo is about right too.
• Yes, it has empathy
• Say what you need to say - if it does, then it's fine. Only you know............
• Really good track
• Yeah I think it complements the visuals very well, good emotive soundtrack
• The soundtrack does fit the trailer but at the same time it almost discredits the credibility of a sophisticated film. I feel like
it almost disregards it amongst all the other generic films of this style. This film could have a real Eternal Sunshine of the
Spotless Mind feel but would need more thought. It's good though!
• Music works well and synchronises with the trailer overall.
• Great music as it gives you more information.
• I think it fits, due to the scenes where it has been speed up it fits I love it
• Say what you need to say Yes it fits because it's young music
• Nice song, seems very fitting and stirring.
• I really like the soundtrack, I think it suits the mood of the trailer because it's quite upbeat yet the lyrics are very emotive
7. What did you find most effective in the trailer?
• The use of sped up scenes
• It was beautifully put together with just enough to make me want to know the who story....it was quite dramatic and I loved
the music. Great acting !
• The quality of individual shots, and balance of techniques (straight filming, rapid editing etc) to aid narrative.
• Portrayal of emotion
• The perspective and setting
• The anguish of the situation
• The images and the bits of storyline gleaned from these.
• Music
• Probably the soundtrack it really carried the sequence of shots well
• The detail shots - the lamppost, her scratching her nails etc. Those types of shots help the viewer to relate to the characters,
thus drawing them in and making them want to watch the film.
• Good fades and technical/special effects, tears, sunlight, walking fast/slow pace, rain etc.
• Love the fast parts and feeling inside her body or. Staring at hands on the bench.
• I think the speeding up scenes were effective but may of been a bit too many
• When the doctor was speaking
• Music and close ups on crying eyes, very artistic and emotional
• I liked the close ups of Chrissy because it really emphasised the emotion in this trailer. I also really liked the music
8. How do you think we could improve the trailer?
• I don't think you could
• Well...I cannot think how it could be.
• Probably a bit shorter?
• A more diversely emotional trailer like a hint of comedic or happy as oppose to keeping the necessary dose of sadness
• I do not feel it needs any alteration
• Maybe slightly shorter - a little more dialogue overlaying the soundtrack. The opening words immediately draw you in.
• Shorter voice over
• You could include more onscreen credits to make it look more professional
• Make it shorter (although I'm worried that as an A Level brief it may have to be that length? If it does, then just consider how
significant each scene is - does it need to be included? Instead, lengthen the beginning to really set the atmosphere).
• I think the music, speed and pace is just right in the trailer sequence. The coming soon this summer looks very happy and
bright, maybe there should be an indication to a sadder darker side although the overall feel of the film might be one of
optimism, against all odds.
• More future-when she starts to forget more.
• Uh it looks like you could of used a tripod when doing the fast scenes since it's a bit shaky
• Give more information where is the film going
• Possibly faster paced or shorter in length but that could upset the balance for the soundtrack
• Maybe have a few parts with the actors speaking?
9. Would you watch the film having watched the
trailer and why?
• Yes, it looks like the type of film I'd like to watch
• Definitely ! It gave enough away, but not too much, that I was left wanting more...I want to know what happens to the girl !
• I would watch it because I want to know what happens to the characters.
• Unsure seems to be aimed at a younger audience
• Yes, it is emotionally impacting at first glance. I would watch it with a tiny doubt in my mind due to the repetition of the similarity between
each scene in the trailer, but it won't stop me from watching it.
• Yes, it brings home the message
• Yes - I want to know the full story!
• Probably
• Yeah because it seems that there is a captivating story line
• I would not, no, but that's just a personal preference - those types of things tend to do nothing for me. However, if you were to inject a little
more style into it (which I can tell you already have begun to do), I think I probably would! I'm sorry if this has been really harsh feedback -
I'm actually super impressed because I would never have been able to make anything as good as that when I was in college and I'm
struggling to make anything worthwhile even now that I'm at university! So count me impressed, I just think it's good to have constructive
feedback that's really honest. You'll get an amazing grade for this as it is, so with some adjustments you've got it in the bag! Well done :)
• Yes definitely it really sets the scene, although I might need a box of tissues!
• Definitely! Xx
• Yeah, mainly because I love drama films!
• No because I don't like that kind of film
• Yes, see above. Looks very interesting, emotional and well produced
• I definitely would! It looks like the type of movie I love and I personally want to find out what happens
