I liked the use of different shot style throughout the film, with there being a few POV shots and very
close up shots of faces, I also liked the use of a shot of the main character upside down to represent
how they were feeling. The film also had an engaging storyline which most comedy's don’t really
have. That being said at some points it felt too serious to be funny.
The film made me feel a lot of different emotions which normally in a comedy doesn't happen, but
there was very tense and sad moments throughout the film which were broken up with comic relief
but overall it was funny, especially with the final scene.
I would definitely recommend this film to someone else because it was very interesting to watch as
the storyline was engaging and it makes you feel a lot of different emotions over such a short time
frame. If I had to describe it to someone who hadn't seen it I would say it was about a

I like how we are made to feel sorry for the main character, even though he isn't the best person
and does a lot of bad things throughout, but we are made to see he only wanted the best for his
family. I think having the children with him throughout most of the film also helps us to feel sorry
for him, rather than dislike him. I didn’t really like the cinematography though as I think they could
have used more interesting shots throughout to keep the viewer more interested and engaged. I
also didn’t like how there was a few holes in the plot that could have been developed a bit more.
The film made me feel quite sad throughout because the man was trying his best to have a good
Christmas for his family, although it was a drama so it would have been good to made to be feel
angry or tense at points throughout.
I would recommend this film to someone else because despite having a few flaws it was a good film
to watch although I wouldn’t have described it as drama.

I really liked the way the atmosphere was built during the film, especially with their being no music
which is normally key to building tense atmospheres in thriller/horror films. I also really like the way
they used the bus security cameras as it added a really nice new perspective to the film. I didn’t like
how quiet it was throughout the film, though this was done to build tension some music throughout
would have made it more enjoyable.
Overall the film made me feel quite tense and scared throughout and out of the films I have
watched so far really struck me as the only one actually suited to its genre.
I would definitely recommend this film to others as it's my favourite one I have watched so far and it
was captivating from start to finish.

I really like how the film was narrated in the form of a rap. This made it a lot more interesting than
some other documentaries because it gives it a cool rythym and makes it interesting to watch. I also
like how they used different noises such as being underwater when the narrator said they were
drowning because like the narration style it makes it a lot more interesting than some other
documentarys. I didn’t like how repetetive it was though, this did make it slightly annoying to watch
It made me feel quite sad, and was quite eye opening to the way people with learning difficulties
get treated by society. This was good because the documentary is definetly getting the message it
wants to convey across to viewers.
I would reccomend this to others because its very easy to watch and listen to and it has a strong
message behind it.

I really liked the use of colour to to show different emotions throughout the film starting at the
beginning where it was very grey and lifeless and the clown makeup was the only colour, to further
on where the main character becomes happy and we see a lot more colour, even in his house. I also
really liked the use of foreshadowing with him using the toaster at the beginning to him then
attempting suicide later on in the film with the same toaster. I didn’t like how they only used a few
different types of shots throughout the whole film, I think a few different angles or shot types would
have improved it slightly.
The film overall makes you feel sad, but at there is points throughout that make you laugh, which is
good because without that veriety I think the film would be quite boring.

I really liked the costume design for this film, with each outfit corresponding to the topic they were
speaking about, I think doing this gave the film some impact to what they were speaking about,
especially since climate change and being healthy is a topic many find boring. I also really liked how
they never kept the camera still and constantly moved it around whatever they were filming, which
made it ten times more interesting to watch. I didn’t like the narration style as the voice was quite
dry and boring at points and I think an actual person speaking would have made it slightly more
interesting.
I could link this back to my FMP as I want to do something similar, including fashion whilst educating
people on a fairly overlooked yet important issue.
I would definatley recommend this to others to watch as I found it quite interesting and
informative

I really liked the narration style of this film, with the narrator talking about identity, sexuality and
masculinity, almost like a poem. I also really liked the cinematography, with a lot of the shots
making you feel

I really liked the SFX and costume design, especially for the monster, and especially how no CGI was
used in the film and it was all done by hand. The monsters/killers in horror/thrillers being
convincing can change the whole film and in this case, it made it very interesting to watch and a lot
scarier. I also really like the score, which some other films were missing and although this one was
quite minimal it did ad a lot to the overall impact of the film. I think the plot could have been
developed a little better as you didn’t really get introduced to any characters and it felt a little
rushed in places, which also lead to an ending which felt quite rushed and like there could have
been some extra bits added in.
The film was quite intense and scary throughout with things like the costume and set design adding
to this.
I wouldn’t recommend this film because although some parts of it are very good it's quite hard to
follow and there is little plot and character development throughout.

I really like the use of CGI to show the fish in the side of a mans head as it adds some comedy to the
advert and makes it very interesting to watch. I also like how the message to stop people from
buying dodgy products is very clear and well conveyed through comedy, which is quite difficult to do
and be taken seriously. I do think the camerawork could have been a little more interesting
throughout.
The film made me laugh quite a lot throughout which I was not expecting from something og this
genre.
I would recommend this to others as it was unexpectedly funny in a lot of places and actually quite
informative.

18. Masterclass 1
• This masterclass was about engaging and appealing to audiences,
which is something I could find very useful in my FMP and other
projects as audience appeal is something I struggle with.
• I learnt that to appeal to audiences your project has to have some
sort of universal appeal to it to start off with before you move onto
the niche topic you want to deal with in your project, this way there is
still some appeal for everyone who engages with your project but you
still resonate with your target audience.

19. Masterclass 2
This masterclass was about wriritng scripts that can engage and captivate your audience. I chose
this because script wiritng is something I am very intereted in, but do struggle with and this
masterclass could deffinatley help with that.
I have learnt that there is many factors that can contribute to wriring a good and engaging script,
such as making the first ten pages of your script as captivating as possible to engage anyone who
reads the script or watches the final product straight away. You need to show the characters in
action from scene one, with very little set up around them, as this keeps the audience watching so
they can learn more about the characters. You need to know your world, genre and tone aswell,
because if this is incorrect this can make the reader feel uncomfortable and confused.

21. Guest Programme
I have chosen this guest programme bas I feel like the transgender filmmaking community is very
underrepresented and has some very interesting storys to tell. They have never really had a voice
and have been very marginalised in the community. This new perspective means innovation in an
otherwise stale and oversaturated industry.
Film 1 – Reviving The Roost: This film was about a woman's experience of the gay bars and the self- hatred in the LGBT
community in Canada
Film 2 - Honor Black Trans Womxn!: This film was about the hardships black trans women have faced throughout their lives.
Film 3 - We've Been Around: This film follows the story of Lou Sullivan, a gay trans man who was refused surgery by many
gender surgeons because of his sexuality, who was then diagnosed with HIV/AIDS dying in 1991.
Film 4 - Waking Hour: This film was about a trans woman who meets a man at a party, then once he finds out she is a trans
woman treats her badly and she starts to fear for her saftey.
Film 5 - It's Not Your Fault: This film was about honoring and remebering the indidgenous canadians who have lost their lives
to murder and abuse
Film 6 - Indigenous Luvvv: This film was a short film about life as an indidginous queer living in the USA, critizsizing the
western LGBTQ culture
