• What I liked about the music video was all the unqiue shots, such as the shoty at the
beginning of the music video where it looks like a normal camera shot fo somebody in a
chair, but then a broom comes into frame and you find out that you were looking at him
through a puddle. I also like a lot of the shots that were stationary but zoomed in over
time, I think it made the audience focus on the thing that it was zooming towards and
gave the idea that they are isolated from everything around them. I also like how the
music video had three different destinct sections. I liked that these all fit with the song
and it made the song feel like it had different chapters. I think that this video fits very
well into the music video category. I found that the whole style of the music video made
me feel uncomfortable and on edge because it used camera techniques that I was not
used to, however I also still found it interssting and I thought that it went well with the
unsetteling nature of the song. If I was to describle it to somebody who hadn't seen it I
would say that it follows similar styles to normal music videos, however, it follows one
character throughout and it uses very unqiue camera angles and has three different
sections. I would like to use some similar camera shots for my fmp because I think they
do a really good job at disorientating people and making people feel uneasy.

• What I liked about this short comedy was the way that it leads into thinking something is
happening the whole time and you think that you can predict what is going to happen
and then suddenly it's not at all what you expect which completely changes the mood
from emotional to funny. However, I think for the comedy genere, it was very emotional
at the start and it took a while for the funny bits to begin so it didn't feel like a comedy
for half of the viewing. However, I still feel like this fits into ther comedy genere because
it had the underlying comedic aspects. It made me laugh towards the end because of
how rediculous it was. I would recommend someone else to watch it because I think that
this type of comedy would make a lot of people I know laugh and enjoy it as the jokes
are a very universal type of humor so a lot of peole would find it funny. If I was to
describe it to somebody who hadn't seen it before I would say that it had a very cringe
worthy start, but as it progresses it will break your espectations and become more
emotional than you expected, it will also break your expectations again because at the
end it will be completely different to what you expected. In my FMP I would like to use
the techniques that this used to make the audience empathise with somebody who the
main character doesn't want to empathise with.

• What I liked about this short drama was that it showed the real struggle that a lot of working
people go through every day and how hard life is for most people and everybody else just brushes
it off as another working day. I especially liked the fact that people were blaming the main
character for something bad happening when he was just trying to help, and it wasn't his fault. I
think that this helped to show the stress that people are under just by working as it's harder and
more stressful to do the work rather than the thought of working every day, I think it helped to
show why a lot of people get pushed over the edge so easily by the tiniest things and validates it a
lot more and helps you empathise with people that you otherwise wouldn't normally thing about
e.g binmen, cleaners, maintenance workers. It did scare me into not wanting to be into the
position of doing a job a hate every day for the rest of my life. I would recommend this to
somebody else, because I think that it teaches people to empathise and think more about people
that would normally not pay any attention to. If I had to describe this to a friend that hadn't seen
it, I would describe it as very insightful and something that you should watch so that you have
more awareness of people around you but is also interesting to watch and gives you an insite on a
lot of people's lives. I would like to use the way that this short drama develops charactors in my
FMP because I think that it helps you get to know people and get attached to them without
introducing any elements into the story that are too unrealistic.

• What I liked about this short film is the way that it created suspense and had an
underlyingly creepy feel. I feel like the sound design and the lighting that they used
added to the creepy feeling atmosphere. However, I did find that the story was very hard
to follow and I didn’t feel very interested by it, I lost interest in it at many points and feel
like the whole story had no direction. I don't think that this movie would do that well
among the thriller genere, because I thinkt that to have a good thriller, you need a good
story alongside the good film work. It made me feel on edge but because of the lack of
story or understanding for what was going on I wasn't really scared at any point. I don't
think that I would recommend this to someone else to watch to enjoy because I don't
think that it does a good job at entertaining, however I would recommend it to someone
for the use of lighting and sound because I think that those two things were exicuted
very well. If I had to describe this to somebody who hadn't seen it, I would say that the
story is very hard to follow but what I found from it was that a women that buys a creepy
house slowly distances herself from everyone till one day she sees a bright light and then
she goes missing. I don't think that the story is good but the production is very well
done. I would like to the use the colour grading and the camera style for my FMP
because I think that it looked really good and does a really good job of setting the mood
when there is a lack of story.

• I really liked the way that this short docuemntary felt real even though it was fiction. I think that it
does a really good job at raising awareness of a potiential close future that we could face if we
don't tacle the problems with our inviroment. I also really liked the way that it showed problems
we may have in the future that you may not initially think of, for example it mentions climate
refugees coming from the equator. I think that this docuemntary fits very well into the fictional
docuemntary genere bvecause I think that even though it's fictional it does a very good jbo at
portaying it as real as it is something could potentially be real. This documentary made me feel
like I needed to change some things in my life, but it also scared me because I would hate to live
in a future with as many problems as that and life just seems to be generally harder. I would
definatly recommend this to somebody else because I think that it does a really good job at
raising awareness to people about climate change and I think that as many people need to see it
as possible to create the biggest diffrerence that is possible. If I had to describe it to somebody
that haden't seen it before I would say that it shows peoples future attitudes to climate change
and the conciquences to small problems that we don't fix, overall creating one big problem that
we will all have to deal with. I would like to use the way that they portray humans lack of caring
about big issuses in my projects. This is because I thinkt that they did a really good job at showing
that people say that they care but then a minute later they no longer care about what they were
talking about and continue to get on with their lives normally even though everything around
them is going wrong.

• What I liked about this short comedy was the way that it was filmed. I liked how the
aspect ratio was different to the standard 1920 x 1080. I think that this did a really good
job at making the short comedy feel old and feel like it was from a time peroid where
more men played badminton as it is not a common sport anymore. However, I feel like
for a comedy it could be slightly funnier, I think the whole thing was underlyingly funny,
but I think there was a lot of things to be annoyed at wihtin the short film that can cancel
out the funny bits and I think that it could have been balanced a bit better. Although, I
think that it fits very well into thre comedy genere and I think that a lot of people would
enjoy it. It did make me laugh at certain points; however, I don't feel like I was the main
audience for that type of comedy because a lot of it just made me feel uncomfortable. I
will recommend it to somebody else to if they find it funny because I know that other
people, I know would find it a lot funnier than I did. If I had to describe it to somebody
who hadent seen it then I would say it is a man who is described as the badminton
champion by his club and when they have a charity tournament, a new young boy arrives
and he's just as good as him at badminton and he gets angry that everybody likes him
just as much as him and he acts like a child and doesn't know how to deal with it. I think
that I would like to use the way that they use different aspect ratios to normal in my FMP
to represent different time peroids.

• What I liked about this music video is the way that it was very different to a
typical music video of that genere of music. They usually don't have a lot of
effects and they're usually very slow. This one was very different btu yet also
seemed very fitting. I liked the way that the lyrics said, "It hard to know where
the feeling goes" and she was moving from TV to TV but in the wrong order and
was ending up on random TVs. I think that this fit well into the music video
genere and would fit in perfectly on a music TV channel. This music video had my
attention the entirer time because there was always something going on and
something to follow. I would definatly recommend this music video to someone
else because I think that it does a really good job of keeping somebody's
attention. If I had to describe this to somebody who had never seen it before I
would say that it is a msuic video that follows a women on many different TV
screens and all the different TV screens could represent what's going on in here
head and all the differen thoughts that she is having. I really liked how the whole
music video was a metaphor for her thoughts and I would really like to
encorparate a physicall metpahor like this into my FMP.

• What I really liked about this animation is how minimalistic it was, but it was very
emotional and gripped me throuhgout the entire thing. I also think that the
length of it was perfect, because it was so minimalistic, I don't think that it could
have held people's attention if it was any longer and it got acros the message that
is way trying to get across perfectly. It made me feel sad, because the story being
told was emotional. I would defiantly recommend this to somebody else because
even if they don't like it then it's not going to be a long time, so they are going to
be paying attention the entire time. I also think that it puts across a good
message to make sure that you don't take other people for granted. If I had to
describe this to a friend, I would say that it's a very emotonal short animation
which gives a story about somebody's dad and gives an important message about
caring about everybody around you. I really like the idea of not making something
long for the sake of it and using short stories to get across a message because I
think that it makes people remember it more. I would like to do this in my FMP
somehow. I think I could do this by adding different short stories thorughout my
FMP to get across a message.

• What I liked about this short film is how accruate it is to real life. However, I wish that it
went into more detail about what they both do now, and it showed more ways that both
of their lives had changed. I think that this short film was good but im not sure that it fits
into the drama genere, however im not sure what genere it would firt into as it is very
reflective. I'm not sure how this short film made me feel, it made me feel many different
emotions as it is very reatable, so I felt awkward, sad, uncomfortable, happy and excited.
I would definatly recommend this to somebody else as I feel like it is a very relatable
experience and I think that it would be very interesting to somebody to see how that
excact sitiuation effects everybody differently. I would describe this as a short film which
shows what it's like to meet up with a childhood friend and how things have changed and
how you don't get along how you used to because you have both changed so much, but
there is still, and underlying connection and you remember things you learnt together
when you were young. I would really like to use the way that they create subtle
awkwardness between in this in my FMP. The way that there is two people that know
eachother well suddenly having a conversation like they are both strangers that have
never met before is something that I would really like to use in my FMP.

13. Masterclass 1
• The master class was about the ways that film makers make their
films unique to others. I learnt that a lot of film makers do this by
finding something that they visually or audiably like about films and
try to learn how to do it to, but since they are not very experienced
with the certain audio or filming style, they end up making something
slightly different that is unique that is unique to them. I think that I
could do this in my fmp by making certain sound effects or music. I
think that because I am unexperienced with these things, that if I do
them, I will make them sound unique to me and they can hopefully
stand out in what I make.

14. Masterclass 2
• This masterclass had somebody talking from BBC films. It was very useful to see how
they chose what products they are going to make and how they improving at filming as a
team. They make short films inbetween making feature lengths so that they can all
practice working together and learn their equiptment and different techniques that they
haven't used before. They also make sure that they have lots of ideas going and lot of
stories written and then they pick out the best ones and slowly go through them in an
order. They also talked about having a lot of contacts to different filming companies from
around the globe and how it's useful to be in contact with lots of film makers so that you
can all help eachother. They talked about how they focus on making films specifically in
the UK so that it is relatable for the UK audience that they are appealing to and adressed
problems found in the UK. The lady from the BBC talked about how she got into her
position for working for BBC films and that she was initially a runner, she then went and
studied script editing and helped edit some scripts under the supervision of other people
at the BBC and from there she got better and got given more jobs and managed to get to
a respected role and make films for the BBC.

15. University Showcase
• I chose this showcase because I was thinking of going to york university after college.
What I liked about lockdown gothic were all the close-up shots which give a lack of
senses around you and make you feel vunerable. I also really liked the ending and how
none of it was real and she was just really invested in a story because it then went from
being not at all relatable to something that you can relate to. However, I did feel like it
was hard to follow what was going on, but I did feel like that worked in its favour at some
points as it added to the creepiness more. I think that it fits very well into the genere
because of the techniques that it used which were typical of the horror genere such as
the lighting, the voice over and all the sound effects. It did make me feel tense and on
edge throughout and it made me feel really one edge towards the end as the music built
up and more sound effects came in. I'm not sure if I would recommend this to somebody
that I know because im not sure if anybody I know would enjoy this because I don't think
that there is really a story to it and it's only good for the cinematography. I would like to
use a lot of the close-up shots in my FMP. I also really like the idea of creating something
that seems real and then it's just somebody reading something because it invests the
audience a lot more than it would if you could just hear the character reading it outloud.

16. Guest Programme
• For the guest program I chose hanoi stories. The reason that I chose this guest program is
because I thought that it would be the most internesting becase I know nothing about
hanoi or Vietnam, I also really like the documentary style. In the first film it shows what
they did in the past and what life was like there and what they did for entertainment and
how people lived by following one woman as she shows what she did in her past. The
second short film shows how music is made and used in hanoi and it shows how it is
taught and what it is used for. In the third short film it shows what everyday family life is
like there. It shows what school are like and how children learn, it also shows what life is
like for the parents and how conditions are where they live. The fourth short film follows
a woman in hanoi who makes music there. It follows her as she goes round and tries to
find ways of making different sounds. The last short film follows a women who performs
music live, we get to see her boyfriend who she met when collaborating with him to
make music, we also get to see the struggle of her profession as it's not a reliable sourse
of income. I would like to use this documentary style in my FMP. This is befcause im not
sure what I am doing for my FMP yet and one of my choices was a documentary, so this
is useful to see how it's filmed and how it gives us an insite into somebody elses life just
by following them the whole time.
