2. In our film trailer, we aimed to use a series of
key conventions which are commonly used in
successful trailers. The use of key
conventions will make the audience more
eager to watch the film and so it will increase
the likelihood of the media product becoming
successful.
3. The title, release date and the name of the production
company are very obvious key conventions which all
trailers should have. This, in my opinion, is more
effective if it’s used at the end of the film trailer. This
is because the audience are likely to pay more
attention in order to find out what the name of the
film is and when it will be coming out. We have also
chosen to do this so that the audience are more likely
to remember the name of the film and the release
date as it is one of the last things they see in the
trailer. The name of the main stars is a must. This
information is displayed early on in the trailer so that
the audience know who they are expecting to see.

5. Music is a popular key convention and it is
used to transmit information such as the type
of genre, style and the plot of the film which
gives the audience a better feel of the film.
We used a couple of songs which makes the
comedy genre of the film stand out and
provides a clearer understanding to the
audience of what our film trailer is about and
also the genre category our media product
falls into.
6. We have ended up using some on screen text
which is commonly used in many film trailers.
We have chosen not to add too much or else
this could put off the audience. We focus on
using on screen text on vital information such
as the name of the actors, title, release
date, etc. On screen text is very effective as it
can give away a lot of important
information, for example, the style of the font
will give the audience a better insight of the
genre of the film.
