“Better Farming by Every Farmer”
The ACABC scheme is being implemented by Ministry of Agriculture
and Farmers’ Welfare, Government of India, with NABARD acting as
subsidy channelising agency in the year 2002
INTRODUCTION
Register candidates current year ( 2021-2022) = 5555
Cumulative = 41971
Application approved by manage current year (2021-2022) =
1812
Cumulative = 20686
Trained candidates approved and trained in current financial
year = 1047
 The scheme aims to develop agriculture and allied graduates
as well as 10 + 2 students of agricultural stream to setup Agri-
clinics and Agri- business Centres for self employment and to
provide quality extension services to the farmers.
Agri-Clinics are envisaged to provide expert advice and
services to farmers on various technologies including cropping
practices, plant protection, feed and fodder management,
etc.
Agri-Business Centres are commercial units of agri-ventures
established by trained agriculture professionals.
ACABC SCHEME
Agri venture established
To support Agriculture development ,
 To supplement the efforts of public extension ,
To create gainful self-employment opportunities to unemployed Agricultural
Graduates, Diploma holders, and Science Graduates with PG in Agri related
subjects.
Other services to farmers either on payment basis or free of cost as per
business model of agri-preneur, local needs and affordability of target group of
farmers
intermediate in agriculture and biological science graduates with PG in agri-
related courses
OBJECTIVES
Only selected candidates will be provided two months training in
different aspects of agri-clinics and agribusiness.
Government spending Rs.35,000 per trainee.
Agri-entrepreneurship Development including Market Survey, Hands on
Experience and preparation of Detailed Project Report.
Trained candidates can avail start up loan upto Rs.20 lakhs from Banks
with attractive subsidies through NABARD.
In Group ceiling about Rs.100 lakhs for the project.
At least 10% value of the Total Financial Outlay of the project should be
in capital form
TRAINING
Agri-Clinics
 Agri-Clinics are envisaged to provide expert advice and
services to farmers on various aspects to enhance productivity
of crops/animals and increase the incomes of farmers.
Agri-Clinics provide support in the following areas:
 Soil health
 Cropping practices
 Plant protection
 Crop insurance Post-harvest technology
Clinical services for animals,
 Feed and fodder management Prices of
various crops in the market, etc
Agri-BusinessCentres
 Agri-Business Centres are commercial units of agri-ventures
established by trained agriculture professionals.
These ventures may include maintenance and custom hiring of
farm equipment, sale of inputs and other services in agriculture
and allied areas, including post-harvest management and
market linkages for income generation and entrepreneurship
development.
The scheme covers full financial support for training and
handholding, provision of loan and credit-linked back-end
composite subsidy.
Listof Beneficiaries
 Graduates in agriculture and allied subjects from State Agriculture
Universities (SAUs)/Central Agricultural Universities/Universities
recognised by ICAR/UGC.
 Degree in Agriculture and allied subjects offered by other agencies
are also considered subject to approval of Department of Agriculture &
Cooperation, GoI, on recommendation of the State Government
 Diploma (with at least 50% marks)/Post Graduate Diploma holders in
Agriculture and allied subjects from State Agricultural Universities,
State Agriculture and Allied Departments and State Department of
Technical Education.
 Biological Science Graduates with Post Graduation in Agriculture &
allied subjects.
 Degree courses recognised by UGC having more than 60 percent of
the course content in Agriculture and allied subjects.
 Diploma/Post Graduate Diploma courses with more than 60 percent
of course content in Agriculture and allied subjects, after B.Sc. with
Biological Sciences, from recognised colleges and universities.
Agriculture related courses at Intermediate (i.e. plus two) level, with
at least 55% marks.

Setting up of Cool Chain fro the farm level onwards (Group
Activity)
Retail marketing outlets for processed agri-products
Rural marketing dealerships of farm inputs and outputs
 Need a state level coordination committee between MANAGE
and Nodal training Institutes in order to ensure smooth
implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the training
programme under the agriclinics and agribusiness centres
scheme in India.

  • 4. INTRODUCTION “Better Farming by Every Farmer” The ACABC scheme is being implemented by Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Government of India, with NABARD acting as subsidy channelising agency in the year 2002
  • 5. INTRODUCTION Register candidates current year ( 2021-2022) = 5555 Cumulative = 41971 Application approved by manage current year (2021-2022) = 1812 Cumulative = 20686 Trained candidates approved and trained in current financial year = 1047
  • 6.  The scheme aims to develop agriculture and allied graduates as well as 10 + 2 students of agricultural stream to setup Agri- clinics and Agri- business Centres for self employment and to provide quality extension services to the farmers. Agri-Clinics are envisaged to provide expert advice and services to farmers on various technologies including cropping practices, plant protection, feed and fodder management, etc. Agri-Business Centres are commercial units of agri-ventures established by trained agriculture professionals.   • 8. To support Agriculture development ,  To supplement the efforts of public extension , To create gainful self-employment opportunities to unemployed Agricultural Graduates, Diploma holders, and Science Graduates with PG in Agri related subjects. Other services to farmers either on payment basis or free of cost as per business model of agri-preneur, local needs and affordability of target group of farmers intermediate in agriculture and biological science graduates with PG in agri- related courses OBJECTIVES
  • 9. Only selected candidates will be provided two months training in different aspects of agri-clinics and agribusiness. Government spending Rs.35,000 per trainee. Agri-entrepreneurship Development including Market Survey, Hands on Experience and preparation of Detailed Project Report. Trained candidates can avail start up loan upto Rs.20 lakhs from Banks with attractive subsidies through NABARD. In Group ceiling about Rs.100 lakhs for the project. At least 10% value of the Total Financial Outlay of the project should be in capital form TRAINING
  • 10. Agri-Clinics  Agri-Clinics are envisaged to provide expert advice and services to farmers on various aspects to enhance productivity of crops/animals and increase the incomes of farmers. Agri-Clinics provide support in the following areas:  Soil health  Cropping practices  Plant protection  Crop insurance Post-harvest technology Clinical services for animals,  Feed and fodder management Prices of various crops in the market, etc
  • 11. Agri-BusinessCentres  Agri-Business Centres are commercial units of agri-ventures established by trained agriculture professionals. These ventures may include maintenance and custom hiring of farm equipment, sale of inputs and other services in agriculture and allied areas, including post-harvest management and market linkages for income generation and entrepreneurship development. The scheme covers full financial support for training and handholding, provision of loan and credit-linked back-end composite subsidy.
  • 12. Listof Beneficiaries  Graduates in agriculture and allied subjects from State Agriculture Universities (SAUs)/Central Agricultural Universities/Universities recognised by ICAR/UGC.  Degree in Agriculture and allied subjects offered by other agencies are also considered subject to approval of Department of Agriculture & Cooperation, GoI, on recommendation of the State Government  Diploma (with at least 50% marks)/Post Graduate Diploma holders in Agriculture and allied subjects from State Agricultural Universities, State Agriculture and Allied Departments and State Department of Technical Education.
  • 13.  Biological Science Graduates with Post Graduation in Agriculture & allied subjects.  Degree courses recognised by UGC having more than 60 percent of the course content in Agriculture and allied subjects.  Diploma/Post Graduate Diploma courses with more than 60 percent of course content in Agriculture and allied subjects, after B.Sc. with Biological Sciences, from recognised colleges and universities. Agriculture related courses at Intermediate (i.e. plus two) level, with at least 55% marks.   • 15.  Need a state level coordination committee between MANAGE and Nodal training Institutes in order to ensure smooth implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the training programme under the agriclinics and agribusiness centres scheme in India. CONCLUSION
