Ramona Bulldawg
Ramona, California, the simply heart–warming town on the outskirts of San Diego County, should
be on the list of sites to see when visiting San Diego. With a friendly face on every corner to a
historically rural town, Ramona is an under–rated place that should not be overlooked. The youth of
Ramona has a significant impact on the town. With town shops closing every Friday night to cheer
on the Ramona Bulldawgs, there is no uncertainty that Ramona is just one big family community
that welcomes visitors with a keen smile. Since there are very few ways to enter Ramona, each
entrance has an inviting "Welcome to Ramona" sign that the town customized themselves to
welcome visitors from all over. As one would drive through Ramona they would most ... Show more

Ramona contains over twenty–five churches. There is a church to fit everyone's beliefs, preferences,
and languages. Much like every other aspect of Ramona, the church environment is welcoming and
everyone is excited to see one another. Since Ramona is a small–town, people attend churches with
their closest friends, neighbors, and foes which allows the community to grow more as a whole.
With a population of 20,000 in 38.43 square miles, one can only imagine how the social
environment is friendly and comforting. A town where children never get away with anything
because parents and guardians know one another from various activities throughout the town.
Whether they know each other from their kid's activities or they're lifelong friends, the bonds make
Ramona a peaceful town. With having only one high school since 1894 familiar, smiling faces are
seen everywhere. Ramona, California is a town with an environment that will make anyone feel
welcome. With all of it's character and livelihood Ramona should not be a site that is missed when
one visits San Diego. After all, it is only a short 30 minute commute from the grungy city life to the

Essay On Job Opportunities
Employment Opportunities The UCSD Career Center provides many opportunities to develop the
future careers of students, and one of those opportunities is student employment. The Port Triton
Portal is an online collection of all work opportunities for students, including jobs, internships, and
volunteering, including work study, where students can apply for jobs and employers can post job
listings. Although the Port Triton Portal is only accessible by students and potential employers, I
would guess that the jobs that are being offered include both on and off campus jobs, as well as full
time and part time jobs. Since students are still studying while working the jobs, I presume that most
of the job opportunities for students don't ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Apparently, the biology and natural science programs at UCSD is extremely popular, to the point
where they had to begin to regulate the amount of students that declared those majors, and the
Scripps Institution of Oceanography is something that I would like to attend, given the impacts of
global warming on sea life and the amount of resources that the school has.
Extracurricular Activities UCSD's intercollegiate athletics competes in NCAA Division II in the
California Collegiate Athletic Association conference, and they are the UC San Diego Tritons. For
their intercollegiate sports, they offer many men's and women's sports, from basketball to fencing to
water polo, and offer the same sports for both men and women for the most part, although men have
golf and baseball, while women have softball. In addition to intercollegiate athletics, UCSD offers
both intramural sports and club sports. Intramural sports are recreational sports that are open to
anyone, and allow athletes to compete in a friendly atmosphere. It costs $7 a quarter to play
intramural sports, but that $7 allows a student to participate in as many intramurals as they desire.
The school offers many different intramural sports, for men, women, and coed, allowing students to
have fun and socialize while playing a sport that they enjoy. Club sports is another form of
intercollegiate athletics, but it isn't on the same competitive scale as NCAA athletics, and allows

The Development Of Downtown San Diego
The Development of Downtown San Diego
My beautiful hometown of San Diego California has seen great development and revitalization in its
downtown district in the past few decades. The city of San Diego now serves as the eighth largest
city and the seventeenth largest metropolitan area in the United States of America. As a growing
region, San Diego has revitalized and developed its Downtown into a dynamic business center, with
vibrant night life scene, and some of the most desirable real estate in the nation. Through the
creation of a development board, transit–oriented development, business incentives districts, mixed
use developments, improved housing and night life, San Diego has been not only able to survive the
recession but thrive ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Reagan, a conservative thought that the federal government had far too much power over cities,
which he believed caused many of the problems cities faced. With republican control of both the
executive and congressional branches of government, the GOP decided to give cities and local
government more authority of their economic development. "The GOP takeover is one of the
historic movements of the 20th century in terms of decentralizing the power of federal authorities
and giving it back to localities and states," (CQ). This new found power allowed cities to focus on
what makes them unique, and specialized development to revitalize their city centers.
Downtown San Diego was founded in 1850 by William Heath Davis. Davis aimed to create a
waterfront city center, located in what is today known as the Gaslamp Quarter. After Davis planned

Davis' failure, Horton purchases 800 acres of land on the waterfront at auction for approximately 33
cents an acre" (Gaslamp). The 1960's saw the decline of downtown San Diego as many residents
decided to live in suburbs such as La Jolla and Coronado. It wasn't until the mid 1980's when
downtown San Diego started to truly begin its revitalization. In 1975 led by republican mayor, Pete

Yolo County Reference Map Analysis
Reference Maps My hometown is located in northern California and the southern part of Yolo
County. Figures 2.0 to 2.3 show the geographic location of Davis, CA. The maps were created using
the United States' Census Bureau American Factfinder website. Figure 2.0 shows California and the
location of Yolo County (). This map was created using the Reference Map feature tool on the
American FactFinder main page. In the "Find a Location" tab on the subsequent page I chose "place
name" under the "Find by" header and searched for "Yolo County, California". The search results
produced a map that was centered on Yolo County. To highlight Yolo County I used the "Select
Geography" tab and chose "County". I clicked on Yolo County to select it and clicked "Add To Your
Selections" to highlight it yellow. Once Yolo County was highlighted, I used the zoom bar to zoom
out to a level that would show the entire state to show the location of Yolo County relative to
California. At this distance, the only features shown are state boundaries and names, major roads,
major cities, water bodies, terrain (mountains and valleys), and the boundary of Yolo County. You ...

Representative fractions are a type of map scale. A map scale is a "proportion between the distance
on a map and a corresponding distance on the ground" (Chapter 2 section 5). The conventional
nomenclature for this proportion is Dm/Dg where Dm stands for map distance and Dg stands for
ground distance (Chapter 2 section 5). Representative fractions have Dm equal to 1 and are
formatted as 1:Dg (Chapter 2 section 5). The bar scales on the maps provide a visual representation
of the distance on the map and the corresponding distance on the ground. I'll use Figure 2.0 as my
example in this explanation of the representative fraction. Full map scale calculations for all figures

Analysis Of Seaworld And San Diego
Summary SeaWorld in San Diego, California recently announced its facility has plans to phase out
its killer whale shows. This decision is what PETA and other oppositions of SeaWorld has been
seeking, but there is no news of ending these shows at their Orlando and San Antonio locations.
There is Federal legislation in the works to ban orca breeding, importing and exporting them for
public display. This legislation is called the Orca Act and is still in its early stages of proposal.
Passing of the Orca Act would most likely be the only way Orlando would stop its killer whale
shows.
Stakeholders
Shareholders: SeaWorld's shareholders have seen a steady decline in revenues over the past couple
years, mainly because of the controversy associated with their killer whales shows. Not continuing
these steps in Orlando or San Antonio, will continue to decrease revenue.
Killer Whales: It is not natural for killer whales to perform shows and interact with humans.
Stopping these shows in San Diego will allow them to live more relaxed and more natural.
PETA: This is a small victory for PETA in its efforts against SeaWorld. With this decision, PETA
will continue to push SeaWorld for more animal rights and stoppage of using animals for
entertainment.
Employees: Jobs within the San Diego facility with be shifted or cut. The need for animal trainers
and performers will be cut. The "face of the company" employees at SeaWorld also get asked the
most questions and sometimes

guaranteed Qualcomm has a male–commanded society, with ladies holding under 15 percent of
what the organization characterizes as senior authority positions. In its chip making unit, the biggest
regarding occupation, ladies hold under 10 percent of executive or senior chief employments. The
organization utilizes an execution rating framework for raises, motivator rewards and stock grants.
Without satisfactory rules for generally male chiefs, the framework brought about lower pay for
ladies. Qualcomm additionally utilizes a sponsorship framework where managers prescribe
specialists for advancements, rather than posting accessible employments for everybody to apply.
The framework made a biased based impediment for ladies, the grumbling affirmed. As indicated by
the grievance, "unwritten" practices at Qualcomm urged workers to be accessible at all times.
Furthermore, representatives who worked late into the night were remunerated over partners who
arrived before the actual arranged time and left toward the end of a typical day. Such practices hurt
specialists – both ladies and men – who nurture school–age youngsters, as indicated by the
objection. Key words: Allegation, Settlement, equal pay, Promotion. Background Qualcomm, which

San Diego Ceiling Fan Installer San Diego is located 120 miles south of Los Angeles, California. It
is located around the Laguna Mountains, which are part of the Peninsular Ranges, found near the
Laguna Salada and Elsinore Faults. The mountain ranges average 1,591 feet above sea level. It is 35
miles north of the border with Mexico. San Diego is a natural harbor to the Pacific Ocean. For this
reason the climate of San Diego is generally mild and dry throughout the year. In essence San Diego
is mostly sunny, dry, and warm, most days of the year. High temperature range from lows of 65
degrees F to highs of 76 degrees F. There are only a few days of precipitation per month during the
months of December through March. For this reason the necessity of an air conditioner has been
virtually eliminated. This could save hundreds in electric bills! ... Show more content on

The need for a ceiling fan however is apparent. A ceiling fan could help to cool and soothe the
homeowner by helping to circulate air and provide air current control. Air can become so still and
stagnant when it doesn't move! Two or three ceiling fans in a home could really make a difference!
Almost anyone would desire a cooling fan, which could save on the electric bill in the summer. An
additional benefit is a little known fact: most people don't know that they could benefit from a
ceiling fan in the winter also. By reversing the direction on the ceiling fan, pulling the warm air
down from the ceiling into the room, the fan can help to provide warmth for the room and reduce the

Pre Visit At San Diego
Pre–Visit
Experience Goal
Arriving in San Diego, CA the prospective customer was hoping to organize a casual dinner for a
group of twelve students. Without much knowledge of the city the customer hoped to find a
convenient, affordable option which would contribute positively to the experience of all parties
joining. Not looking for a tourist–attraction or a chain restaurant the options were limited to a local
favorite within downtown San Diego. Ideally, this restaurant would feature a fairly broad menu,
large portions, and provide a unique dining experience. This selection criteria led the prospective
customer to choose Sixth Avenue Bistro–a casual and contemporary family–style restaurant.
Brand Research In selecting Sixth Avenue Bistro the prospective customer collected data through a
variety of social media platforms. The customer started with The Bistro's official website and
proceeded to Yelp!, TripAdvisor, and Facebook. By all accounts Sixth Avenue Bistro maintained a
reputation of casual accommodation with "welcoming staff" and an excellent menu. The Bistro's
website–http://www.sixthavenuebistro.com–is polished and user–friendly featuring company
information, a variety of menus as well as pictures of signature dishes. What intrigued the customer
throughout his research was the consistency in the rankings given by former patrons. "Don't miss it"

Mexico won the right to California from the Spanish in the Mexican War of Independence in 1821.
The war is what ended Spanish control of what was known as New Spain.
1. Mexico began giving land grants for ranches which increased the population of San Diego. San
Diego city was established at the base of Presidio Hills which is now known as Old Town San
Diego. (6)
2. Mexican government established San Diego as a Pueblo with Juan Maria Osuna as the first
magistrate. The population of San Diego began to decrease due to its location being so far away
from the port of Point Loma. In 1838 San Diego lost its Pueblo status. (6)
B. Mexican–American war occurred from 1846 to 1848 and was started after Texas's Annexation
from the Federal Republic of Mexico.
1. The war was ended with the capture of Mexico City by the United States. Part of the Treaty of
Guadalupe Hidalgo was the Mexican Cession of the territory of Alta California.

San Diego Beaches In Florida
San Diego is a city in California that has about 17 miles of coastline, which offers a variety of
beaches ("San Diego Beaches"). Pacific Ocean is the ocean that borders coast in California. Three
major rock formations can be found in the North County beaches in San Diego, which are Bay Point
Formation, the Torrey Sandstone, and Del Mar Formation. Bay Point Formation is about 100,000
years old, which is also the youngest rock formation, and it has a higher possibility for erosion to
occur (Metzler). The Torrey Sandstone is about 46 million years old, it has a lighter color than Bay
Point Formation, and it is hard enough to provide protection for the softer Bay Point Formation
(Metzler). Del Mar Formation is slightly older than the Torrey Sand ... Show more content on

The main reason for the difference is that the two places are at different "sides", one in the east, the
other in the west, and because of this difference, the weather at these places can also have a big
effect on the beaches. Erosion is a process that occurs at both the beaches in San Diego and
Northeast Florida. The only difference between the two is that in San Diego, the erosion occurs on
the bluffs, while in Florida, it occurs on the dunes. Both the natural and human activities cause
erosion to occur at both places. The activities include the weather, such as the storms can wash away
the sand, which will eventually cause erosion to occur, and human building structures near the
shorelines can allow erosion to happen. Although erosion is still occurring at the shorelines, people
have tried to do some activities that can help reduce or slow the bluff and dunes erosion at both
places. In San Diego, people have built sea walls and placed riprap along the shorelines to help
prevent erosion. Sea walls are usually made up of boulders, steels, and concrete and they are more
expensive to build than the riprap (Metzler). Riprap is placed on the sand along to the shorelines of
the beach, it is usually made up of rocks, and it is less expensive than building sea walls (Metzler).
The purpose of both the sea walls and riprap is to help protect the bluffs

Cannery Row Essay
In John Steinbeck's Cannery Row, Mack and his ravenous companions depart the inhospitable
coastal fog of Monterey, California, and head east toward Carmel Valley, searching for sun.
Turning down a sinuous two–lane road running alongside the Carmel River, they discover an
Elysian plain basking beneath crystalline skies. Wildflowers stippled the orchards and quilted
greenery at the base of the Santa Lucia Mountain Range.
The men scoop up carrots fallen from a flatbed. Their truck runs over a rooster. They snag a bay leaf
from a tree, make a fire, and prepare a feast.
"Luck," Steinbeck writes, "blossomed from the first."
Steinbeck's Depression–era saga was published in 1945. Exactly 20 years later, a 15–year–old
Monterey High student named Peter Partch made the same eastbound turn onto Carmel Valley Road.
Sitting quietly alongside his father in the cab of their truck, Partch hoped luck would blossom for
him, too.
"My big brother was an athlete – a great baseball player," Partch said. "He'd hit the ball and it would
take off like a rocket. He was kind of majestic, but I was an abysmal failure. I wasn't sure of myself
or my abilities, or my place in the world, for that matter."
Reserved and without the hard shell needed to succeed in sports, Partch found salvation in art.
"I had an instinct that I'd have a place in the art world," he said. "Artists seemed to have a higher
purpose. It wasn't about the ego.

The Impact Of Saint Junipero Serra
Saint Junipero Serra was born on the Island of Majorca on the 24th of November, 1713.1 To many,
he is often regarded as the founder and spiritual guardian of old Alta California, as witnessed in his
rather common title, "The Father of California." 2 In response to this, an intelligent student of
history might ask himself, "What effect did the man really have, if any at all?" To find the answer,
one must delve back into the history of old Spanish California, taking a good look at the padre's
past. To that end, this report aims to present the logical conclusion from the facts and the evidence.
Saint Junipero's ultimate impact will be discerned with the following, especially his helping to found
modern California, his teaching and helping of the Indians, and his helping to bring the Catholic
Faith.
To actually discern whether or not Saint Junipero Serra had a great effect on modern California, one
must first analyze the effect he had on old Spanish California. With this thought in mind, the first
possible thing to look at is the missions. These crusty, old adobe buildings, or groups of buildings,

showed how he helped and taught the Indians, mostly through raising their standard of living and
teaching them new and advanced skills. Finally, this report revealed how he brought the Catholic
faith into the region, and taught it to the Indians through both teaching and example. In the end,

A Study On Transportation On A Regular Basis
As a dually enrolled high school senior and community college student in San Diego County, I

Because of this, I use the MTS on a regular basis and would suggest that all other college students in

on transportation costs and a student using semester passes plus three monthly passes during
semester breaks would save just under $8500 per year. While public transportation is not perfect and
often does not allow for long range transportation, the massive amount of money saved could be the
difference between being able to get through college debt–free and needing to take out the dreaded

San Diego Naval Training Center Essay
The Naval Training Center (NTC) influenced the history of San Diego by not only bringing in
money, people, and importance into it, but also using San Diego's heritage, and building upon it. It
became the Naval Training Center in 1944, and filled 435 acres in 1955. However, just 40 odd years
later, the city of San Diego began leasing a number of the buildings. Eventually it closed in 1997.
(Globalsecurity.org)
The desire that San Diego had for a naval base came from as far back as 1893, as stated by Justin
Ruhge. This gave San Diego a deep longing for a base here, especially after San Francisco received
a station. However, they weren't alone. William Kettner a congressman that fully supported the idea

Once they achieved a coaling station, the City received a donation from Kettner to "deepen the bay
for future Naval use." (Ruhge) This meant that with a deeper bay, bigger ships would be able to
dock here, making San Diego a viable option for a base.
With the aid of another influential figure, Franklin D. Roosevelt, who was the Assistant Secretary of
the Navy at the time. They put renewed effort into San Diego having a training station. Eventually,
in 1918 Captain Arthur MacArthur selected a site in Point Loma. (Rughe) At this point the citizens
were able to acquire enough money to buy the 214 acres of land. Furthermore, the city deeded this
land to the Navy, and Congress approved 2 million dollars in funds for this project.
Even though Word War I postponed the construction, the bases construction was completed, and
placed in commission on 1 June, 1923. (San Diego Naval Historical Association) Its "maximum
recruit strength was 1,500." (San Diego Naval Historical Association) Furthermore, over its 70 year
lifespan, it expanded to nearly 550 acres, and included 300 buildings. Moreover, in the early 1990's,
it held "more than a sixth of the Navy's entire fleet," with 133,000 uniformed personnel and 30,000

Animal cruelty is defined as a crime of inflicting pain, suffering, or death on an animal beyond
necessary means for normal discipline. This crime comes in many different forms; it is not only
limited to neglect and domestic animal abuse, but it can also be seen in today's "entertainment"
industry. Although it is frequently overlooked, animals are being mistreated in various famous
places that attract large crowds: SeaWorld, zoos, and the circus. The use of animals for
entertainment purposes should unequivocally constitute animal cruelty.
Animals involved in the industry suffer tremendously. During an interview with PETA, Heather
Rally, a wildlife veterinarian shared her views on SeaWorld, "There is no doubt that all marine
mammals bred in SeaWorld are suffering" she admitted (Martin). There is plenty of evidence to
support the notion that the animals at SeaWorld are suffering both emotionally and physically. Sarah
Fischbeck worked at SeaWorld San Diego for six years and was exposed to the dark, brutal side of
the emplacement. She assured that if people knew or saw what she had seen, SeaWorld would not be
able to sell another ticket (Schelling). Because orcas are snatched from their families and compelled
to live in habitats and social situations that bear scant resemblance to their natural environment and
order, they become stressed and aggressive. In the wild, whales swim up to a hundred miles a day,
but at SeaWorld that would be completely unattainable because they are

Personal Narrative : My Personal Goals In My Life
The grey fog comes in, there is mist in the air, the cold wind increases my alertness and the
uneasiness of everyone causes silence for a brief moment until the high pitched blow of a whistle
starts it all. This sounds like a setting for a suspenseful corny movie but, really it's just a typical
game day here at San Francisco State University.
Unlike all other game days, this one is very special. We take on UC San Diego in hopes of securing
a playoff spot. My emotions have been running all over the place, and no it's not because I am a
young adult trying to get through college. I have been playing soccer for 15 years already so it is
safe to say that soccer is my life. All I do is constantly train to get better and improve as much as I
can and today is my chance to showcase my talent at the highest level I've played at so far. It's my
second year at SFSU and my second year playing soccer here and with 20 games already recorded
for me at the school, I should be coming into the game with a cool head but I am far from it.
Chills run down my spine as I put on my cleats to complete my uniform. During our warm ups I try
and clear my mind and enjoy the music, but I can't even accomplish doing that. 30 minutes go by
like it is nothing and I already hear the referee calling for the captains to do the coin toss right before
the game is about to begin.

Persuasive Essay On Winter Blues
When the cold weather comes around, it's easy for the winter blues to take effect. With snow on the
ground, ice on the windshield, and below freezing temperatures to battle with throughout the day,
most people just want to get getaway from it all – and for good reasons too. If you haven't felt it yet,
it might important to note that: the winter blues typically sets in right after the holidays, when it's
time to take down your Christmas decoration, get back to work, take care of kids, and prepare
yourself for the upcoming year. That's because the vast majority of people find that winter is an
extremely difficult time of year to gather the strength to feel joy and excitement about practically
anything. Fortunately, a visit to any of your favorite – warmer climate – destinations will have you
forgetting about the slush, ice, snow boots, and dark season in no time. So, if you find that you're
unmotivated, checked out, and heavy–hearted, try to fight these feelings by taking steps towards the
light – even in the darkest part of winter. That, of course, is easier said than done for some people. If
you and your family are in need of a winter vacation but if cost is a major factor, consider one of
these affordable – and super fun – destinations where your money will go a lot farther. Dallas, Texas
Some of you may have all heard that everything is bigger in Texas – and well, it is. Dallas isn't home

Youth Of Color
Executive Summary:
Racial and ethnic disparities persist in the juvenile justice system leading to disparate impact. In
2011 youth of color represented about 45 percent of total youth in the U.S., but accounted for more
than 70 percent of youth detained in the juvenile justice system (JJIE, 2015). In 2014 a partnership
between San Diego City Heights residents, Peace Promotion Momentum, and stakeholders within
the juvenile justice system in San Diego selected the National Conflict Resolution Center and San

Prof. S. Steinberg
2I First Draft, Summary & Synthesis with argument Paper
Nov. 1st, 2016 The originate of uncertainty–––– How does thin–sliced judgment compose the
society of United States & help us think critically?
The thin–sliced judgment, explained most commonly, is the impression we have when we meet
someone or experience something impressive. In the article, On the Face of It: The Psychology of
Electability, Konnikova said "Those facial cues, in turn may stem from a far more basic impulse,
since we respond to those same features as children.." this kind of intuitive reaction is originated
from childhood and grows up with all the people, and it is supported by the data that in French
parliamentary election. People rate candidates only by their facial creatures and then 72% of the data
is corresponding to the actual election result, which is unbelievable for most people. Since the thin–
sliced judgment is part of instinct and it is hard for us to change it, it does not limit or stablize our
mind but makes us more creative. This kind of statement could be illustrated by several arguments.
In Johnson's article Race–Baiting for the Presidency, it talks about the racism used by the candidates
to win the campaign. The statements inside another article , Study: Sexist Insults Hurt Female
Politicians by Page, hold the negative points about the treating for women politicians.
In the article of Konnikova, it says "Few people knew that the

high school I excelled and took part in many academic extra–curricular activities. In the past ten
years I have accumulated work and life experience. Most recently I was able to work as a legal

Despite its location the University of California San Diego has an undeniable reputation, attrition
rate, and success rate of graduates; as well as a more appealing curriculum.
As stated above the University of California San Diego is not in the most desirable location,
however I believe it is the right choice after Mesa. UCSD is located in La Jolla at 9500 Gillman
Drive (Make Waves,2016). The nearest four–year university for me would be San Diego State
University. I currently live in Chula Vista making UCSD a 28–minute drive time, not factoring in
traffic (Travelmath,2016). In comparison SDSU would be a 17–minute drive. Brenda Antonio, a
manager in the accounting department at UCSD, lives in my neighborhood and has stated that her
average drive time on a weekday morning is an hour (Antonio,2016). An hour commute may sound
like an inconvenience but there some positive aspects to a long commute. In a study done by the
Australian National University it was found that many people enjoy their commute and, "said this
was the only time they got to themselves during the week, and so used it to dream, relax and
meditate" (Bissel, 2015). In addition, I personally enjoy driving and don't mind the commute.
Although an hour–long commute is not ideal there are certain options in order to reduce the negative
aspects. Scheduling classes during low traffic times and maximizing the time spent commuting, like
listening to books on tape, would

The Region has always been a core of SDSU's mission. Some of the history of San Diego State
University is very interesting and it also began in the late 19th century. Founded on March 13,1897.
It was first called San Diego Normal School, a training for elementary school teachers. In 1921, the
Normal School became San Diego State. Also I found out that in the same year, the two–year San
Diego Junior College, local community colleges, became a branch of San Diego State. That union
lasted until 1946. In February 1931, students, faculty and staff moved into seven Mission–style
buildings.Campus size is 283 acres. Due to the increase of students, they had relocated San Diego
State to the East Side of Mission Valley. World war I and II both affected the student enrollment ,

It's large dome roof made up of interconnected steel beams give it a look that I can only describe as

crucial role by giving the opposite side of the building an unconventional look that catches the eye.
The last key component of the Central Library is the California inspired landscape that brings the
observer back to the realization that they are still in San Diego. The Central Library would not hold
such value if it were not for the perfect relationship between the parts described. Without these key

Are Museums Vs. Museums? Hag. Stuffy?
Museums are boring. Stuffy. Musty. Much too "cultured" and "bourgeois". Who cares about those
old paintings? Not us, we say, as we flit from review book to science lab to English essay. Our
parents want to plan something fun for the family, and perhaps we could try that new Italian place?
Oh wait, we have to finish those notes. Do we even have time for fun anymore? Our friends are
constantly busy on the weekends. The few plans hastily created on the group chat inevitably fade
away as we are buried under the gargantuan strains of everyday life. Our minds are drained,
exhausted, and oh so very stressed. We could use a break. Maybe even take a trip somewhere. Well,
what about that "boring" museum? Although museums strike us as vapid, time–consuming, distant,
and just plain stuffy, we should increase museum attendance in order to destress our lives and
increase our overall awareness. Unfortunately, museums get a bad reputation as a place where
people vacantly stare at paintings and sculptures with glazed eyes, drifting listlessly from room to
room. Why spend money on a ticket when the same money could easily be spent on a new book, a
colorful pen set, or a delicious meal? However, according to psychologists Matthew Killingsworth
and Daniel Gilbert, "happiness is in the content of moment–to–moment experiences." The memory
of an experience holds more weight than simply purchasing a new bag or shirt, and when people
look back at past experiences, they tend to be happier when

The Impact Of Modern Social Workers On The Community
Introduction Modern social workers participate actively in helping people to obtain rights, services,
benefits and opportunities that they might not otherwise obtain through micro policy advocacy, ?
often prioritize the needs of vulnerable populations when they engage in advocacy? (Jansson, 2016,
p. 21). Through community immersion, the social worker gains an understanding of the community
attributes and desiderata, requiring them to utilize their experience and expertise to advocate policies
that will satisfy the client?s needs (NASW, n.d.). Furthermore, when social workers immerse
themselves in the community, it becomes an act of care and concern to serve the community.
Compelling them to implement new changes, depict workable intervention schemes, and generate
attainable treatment plans to satisfy the needs of the individuals, families and community. The
community that will be addressed in this paper is National City. It is located five miles south of
downtown San Diego and ten miles away from the US–Mexico border in Tijuana.
National City is divided into three sub–communities based on their regional parks: Kimball, El
Toyon and Las Palmas (KTU+A, 2014). Because of National City?s unique location in close
proximity to downtown San Diego, it is considered an urban city, as defined by Jannson (2016),
with a lot of commercial activity and impoverishment. Depending on the social worker?s role,
knowledge on the type of community is crucial; when there is a deficit of

Kathy has the strength to know and maintain her business overall. Her weakness is not expanding

People are looking for healthier options and Kudler is not focused on that area. "Our customers are
focused on the cooking and dining experience rather than the health conscious lifestyle" (Strategic
Plan, 2003). There should be some diversity at Kudler without losing the focus that has made them
successful. Assuming that stores are more focused on the types of food they carry rather than the
gourmet experience is also a mistake. As a food retail business, the store should cater to a variety of
tastes, so that it does offer that great cooking and dining experience for everyone.
Strategy and Tactics
Kudler is launching a few initiatives to help increase revenue and reduce costs. Expanding their
services to offer in store parties is a great idea. Parties are good business because it allows people to
visit the store and sample the items in stock. Allowing customers to mingle with the chefs and staff
improves customer relations and is also a great networking opportunity for the store. The downside
to this is that the store will have to be closed to have the function. An area should be designated for
events like this so that it does not take away from business. Another great idea to coincide with this
type of event is to offer baskets that include some of the stores best products. Adding a link on the

The most critical aspects in the concept of an agenda–setting role of mass communication is the time

to gain support occurred rapidly. With the help of the community leaders (opinion leaders),
residents, and individual business yield positive responses the airport wanted. Despite the protest of
the master plan the airport was able to turn that negative into a plus. Let's not forget the media that
was used to educate residents about the airport. It is clear how the public opinion and comminution

Personal Narrative Essay : Why I Joining The Military
Joining the military was astonishing in very many aspects in my life and it truly molded me into
who I am today. I will genuinely say that the most important people in my life are my mother and
father. I am not a parent myself but I have had years to only imagine how tough parenting can be;
especially when raising three stubborn boys. My mother and father are very open minded and kind
hearted to everyone regardless of who they are. I will be honest here and say that I may not have
been as grateful as I should have been when I was a younger kid, but that's just life. When you are
younger, everything is very simple and do not realize the little things in life. I had no other worries
except for, "What's for dinner?". The military made me realize how much I appreciated and very
much needed my loved ones. Travelling far away to Marine Corps Recruiting Depot, San Diego

talking casually with someone. She is light skinned, brown curly hair and brown eyes and talks very
softly. Sometimes she is so soft spoken that I hardly hear what she is saying. It's a family laugh

expected. All of my family had on some type of apparel representing one of the participating teams.
We attended this particular game in celebration of my younger brother's birthday, which was on
November 8. In appreciation of my brother, I wore his favorite team's t–shirt for the Tennessee
Titians. The game was enjoyable and I found supporters for both of the team tailgating. The crowd,
the music, the competition, the excitement of the game, and the liveliness and spontaneous actions
of the spectators were noteworthy. The crowd, the enthusiasm of the people and the superb weather
made it an interesting and exciting event Core Competencies of the Company, Act, and/or Facility: I
like having cheerleaders and music at the game, it helps to keep me engaged. Most of the seats were
good except for the Field level ones, from which, depending on your verticality, you will only be
watching the backs of players on the sidelines, or backs of other people watching the backs of
players on the sidelines. Some of my favorite seats have been in Plaza between 33–40 and 2–9
(visitor side is fine), the Lower View seats up against the rail, and the seats against the rail in the
Loge section

Ramona Bulldawg

  • 1. Ramona Bulldawg Ramona, California, the simply heart–warming town on the outskirts of San Diego County, should be on the list of sites to see when visiting San Diego. With a friendly face on every corner to a historically rural town, Ramona is an under–rated place that should not be overlooked. The youth of Ramona has a significant impact on the town. With town shops closing every Friday night to cheer on the Ramona Bulldawgs, there is no uncertainty that Ramona is just one big family community that welcomes visitors with a keen smile. Since there are very few ways to enter Ramona, each entrance has an inviting "Welcome to Ramona" sign that the town customized themselves to welcome visitors from all over. As one would drive through Ramona they would most ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ramona contains over twenty–five churches. There is a church to fit everyone's beliefs, preferences, and languages. Much like every other aspect of Ramona, the church environment is welcoming and everyone is excited to see one another. Since Ramona is a small–town, people attend churches with their closest friends, neighbors, and foes which allows the community to grow more as a whole. With a population of 20,000 in 38.43 square miles, one can only imagine how the social environment is friendly and comforting. A town where children never get away with anything because parents and guardians know one another from various activities throughout the town. Whether they know each other from their kid's activities or they're lifelong friends, the bonds make Ramona a peaceful town. With having only one high school since 1894 familiar, smiling faces are seen everywhere. Ramona, California is a town with an environment that will make anyone feel welcome. With all of it's character and livelihood Ramona should not be a site that is missed when one visits San Diego. After all, it is only a short 30 minute commute from the grungy city life to the beautiful, spacious town of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Essay On Job Opportunities Employment Opportunities The UCSD Career Center provides many opportunities to develop the future careers of students, and one of those opportunities is student employment. The Port Triton Portal is an online collection of all work opportunities for students, including jobs, internships, and volunteering, including work study, where students can apply for jobs and employers can post job listings. Although the Port Triton Portal is only accessible by students and potential employers, I would guess that the jobs that are being offered include both on and off campus jobs, as well as full time and part time jobs. Since students are still studying while working the jobs, I presume that most of the job opportunities for students don't ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Apparently, the biology and natural science programs at UCSD is extremely popular, to the point where they had to begin to regulate the amount of students that declared those majors, and the Scripps Institution of Oceanography is something that I would like to attend, given the impacts of global warming on sea life and the amount of resources that the school has. Extracurricular Activities UCSD's intercollegiate athletics competes in NCAA Division II in the California Collegiate Athletic Association conference, and they are the UC San Diego Tritons. For their intercollegiate sports, they offer many men's and women's sports, from basketball to fencing to water polo, and offer the same sports for both men and women for the most part, although men have golf and baseball, while women have softball. In addition to intercollegiate athletics, UCSD offers both intramural sports and club sports. Intramural sports are recreational sports that are open to anyone, and allow athletes to compete in a friendly atmosphere. It costs $7 a quarter to play intramural sports, but that $7 allows a student to participate in as many intramurals as they desire. The school offers many different intramural sports, for men, women, and coed, allowing students to have fun and socialize while playing a sport that they enjoy. Club sports is another form of intercollegiate athletics, but it isn't on the same competitive scale as NCAA athletics, and allows ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Development Of Downtown San Diego The Development of Downtown San Diego My beautiful hometown of San Diego California has seen great development and revitalization in its downtown district in the past few decades. The city of San Diego now serves as the eighth largest city and the seventeenth largest metropolitan area in the United States of America. As a growing region, San Diego has revitalized and developed its Downtown into a dynamic business center, with vibrant night life scene, and some of the most desirable real estate in the nation. Through the creation of a development board, transit–oriented development, business incentives districts, mixed use developments, improved housing and night life, San Diego has been not only able to survive the recession but thrive ... With republican control of both the executive and congressional branches of government, the GOP decided to give cities and local government more authority of their economic development. "The GOP takeover is one of the historic movements of the 20th century in terms of decentralizing the power of federal authorities and giving it back to localities and states," (CQ). This new found power allowed cities to focus on what makes them unique, and specialized development to revitalize their city centers. Downtown San Diego was founded in 1850 by William Heath Davis. Davis aimed to create a waterfront city center, located in what is today known as the Gaslamp Quarter. After Davis planned failed in 1867 a man named Alonzo Horton, "Determined to build a new downtown on the site of Davis' failure, Horton purchases 800 acres of land on the waterfront at auction for approximately 33 cents an acre" (Gaslamp). The 1960's saw the decline of downtown San Diego as many residents decided to live in suburbs such as La Jolla and Coronado. It wasn't until the mid 1980's when downtown San Diego started to truly begin its revitalization. In 1975 led by republican mayor, Pete Wilson, the Centre City Development ... Figures 2.0 to 2.3 show the geographic location of Davis, CA. The maps were created using the United States' Census Bureau American Factfinder website. Figure 2.0 shows California and the location of Yolo County (). This map was created using the Reference Map feature tool on the American FactFinder main page. In the "Find a Location" tab on the subsequent page I chose "place name" under the "Find by" header and searched for "Yolo County, California". The search results produced a map that was centered on Yolo County. To highlight Yolo County I used the "Select Geography" tab and chose "County". I clicked on Yolo County to select it and clicked "Add To Your Selections" to highlight it yellow. Once Yolo County was highlighted, I used the zoom bar to zoom out to a level that would show the entire state to show the location of Yolo County relative to California. At this distance, the only features shown are state boundaries and names, major roads, major cities, water bodies, terrain (mountains and valleys), and the boundary of Yolo County. You ... A map scale is a "proportion between the distance on a map and a corresponding distance on the ground" (Chapter 2 section 5). The conventional nomenclature for this proportion is Dm/Dg where Dm stands for map distance and Dg stands for ground distance (Chapter 2 section 5). Representative fractions have Dm equal to 1 and are formatted as 1:Dg (Chapter 2 section 5). The bar scales on the maps provide a visual representation of the distance on the map and the corresponding distance on the ground. • 17. Analysis Of Seaworld And San Diego Summary SeaWorld in San Diego, California recently announced its facility has plans to phase out its killer whale shows. This decision is what PETA and other oppositions of SeaWorld has been seeking, but there is no news of ending these shows at their Orlando and San Antonio locations. There is Federal legislation in the works to ban orca breeding, importing and exporting them for public display. This legislation is called the Orca Act and is still in its early stages of proposal. Passing of the Orca Act would most likely be the only way Orlando would stop its killer whale shows. Stakeholders Shareholders: SeaWorld's shareholders have seen a steady decline in revenues over the past couple years, mainly because of the controversy associated with their killer whales shows. Not continuing these steps in Orlando or San Antonio, will continue to decrease revenue. Killer Whales: It is not natural for killer whales to perform shows and interact with humans. Stopping these shows in San Diego will allow them to live more relaxed and more natural. PETA: This is a small victory for PETA in its efforts against SeaWorld. With this decision, PETA will continue to push SeaWorld for more animal rights and stoppage of using animals for entertainment. Employees: Jobs within the San Diego facility with be shifted or cut. The need for animal trainers and performers will be cut. The "face of the company" employees at SeaWorld also get asked the most questions and sometimes ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Without much knowledge of the city the customer hoped to find a convenient, affordable option which would contribute positively to the experience of all parties joining. Not looking for a tourist–attraction or a chain restaurant the options were limited to a local favorite within downtown San Diego. Ideally, this restaurant would feature a fairly broad menu, large portions, and provide a unique dining experience. • 37. San Diego Beaches In Florida San Diego is a city in California that has about 17 miles of coastline, which offers a variety of beaches ("San Diego Beaches"). Pacific Ocean is the ocean that borders coast in California. Three major rock formations can be found in the North County beaches in San Diego, which are Bay Point Formation, the Torrey Sandstone, and Del Mar Formation. Bay Point Formation is about 100,000 years old, which is also the youngest rock formation, and it has a higher possibility for erosion to occur (Metzler). The Torrey Sandstone is about 46 million years old, it has a lighter color than Bay Point Formation, and it is hard enough to provide protection for the softer Bay Point Formation (Metzler). Del Mar Formation is slightly older than the Torrey Sand ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The main reason for the difference is that the two places are at different "sides", one in the east, the other in the west, and because of this difference, the weather at these places can also have a big effect on the beaches. Erosion is a process that occurs at both the beaches in San Diego and Northeast Florida. The only difference between the two is that in San Diego, the erosion occurs on the bluffs, while in Florida, it occurs on the dunes. Both the natural and human activities cause erosion to occur at both places. The activities include the weather, such as the storms can wash away the sand, which will eventually cause erosion to occur, and human building structures near the shorelines can allow erosion to happen. Although erosion is still occurring at the shorelines, people have tried to do some activities that can help reduce or slow the bluff and dunes erosion at both places. In San Diego, people have built sea walls and placed riprap along the shorelines to help prevent erosion. Sea walls are usually made up of boulders, steels, and concrete and they are more expensive to build than the riprap (Metzler). Riprap is placed on the sand along to the shorelines of the beach, it is usually made up of rocks, and it is less expensive than building sea walls (Metzler). • 45. Cannery Row Essay In John Steinbeck's Cannery Row, Mack and his ravenous companions depart the inhospitable coastal fog of Monterey, California, and head east toward Carmel Valley, searching for sun. Turning down a sinuous two–lane road running alongside the Carmel River, they discover an Elysian plain basking beneath crystalline skies. Wildflowers stippled the orchards and quilted greenery at the base of the Santa Lucia Mountain Range. The men scoop up carrots fallen from a flatbed. Their truck runs over a rooster. They snag a bay leaf from a tree, make a fire, and prepare a feast. "Luck," Steinbeck writes, "blossomed from the first." Steinbeck's Depression–era saga was published in 1945. Exactly 20 years later, a 15–year–old Monterey High student named Peter Partch made the same eastbound turn onto Carmel Valley Road. Sitting quietly alongside his father in the cab of their truck, Partch hoped luck would blossom for him, too. "My big brother was an athlete – a great baseball player," Partch said. "He'd hit the ball and it would take off like a rocket. He was kind of majestic, but I was an abysmal failure. I wasn't sure of myself or my abilities, or my place in the world, for that matter." Reserved and without the hard shell needed to succeed in sports, Partch found salvation in art. "I had an instinct that I'd have a place in the art world," he said. "Artists seemed to have a higher purpose. It wasn't about the ego. "I was particularly interested in sculpture. At the end of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Impact Of Saint Junipero Serra Saint Junipero Serra was born on the Island of Majorca on the 24th of November, 1713.1 To many, he is often regarded as the founder and spiritual guardian of old Alta California, as witnessed in his rather common title, "The Father of California." 2 In response to this, an intelligent student of history might ask himself, "What effect did the man really have, if any at all?" To find the answer, one must delve back into the history of old Spanish California, taking a good look at the padre's past. To that end, this report aims to present the logical conclusion from the facts and the evidence. Saint Junipero's ultimate impact will be discerned with the following, especially his helping to found modern California, his teaching and helping of the Indians, and his helping to bring the Catholic Faith. To actually discern whether or not Saint Junipero Serra had a great effect on modern California, one must first analyze the effect he had on old Spanish California. With this thought in mind, the first possible thing to look at is the missions. These crusty, old adobe buildings, or groups of buildings, were mainly used as headquarters and ... While public transportation is not perfect and often does not allow for long range transportation, the massive amount of money saved could be the difference between being able to get through college debt–free and needing to take out the dreaded student loans. If this money is not needed for tuition, it can be used to buy a round–trip airline ticket to nearly anywhere in the United States every month, making trips home even more accessible and less expensive than they would be with a car. We found a huge crowd entering the stadium, in fact, the crowd was much more than we anticipated and expected. All of my family had on some type of apparel representing one of the participating teams. We attended this particular game in celebration of my younger brother's birthday, which was on November 8. In appreciation of my brother, I wore his favorite team's t–shirt for the Tennessee Titians. The game was enjoyable and I found supporters for both of the team tailgating. San Diego Naval Training Center Essay The Naval Training Center (NTC) influenced the history of San Diego by not only bringing in money, people, and importance into it, but also using San Diego's heritage, and building upon it. It became the Naval Training Center in 1944, and filled 435 acres in 1955. However, just 40 odd years later, the city of San Diego began leasing a number of the buildings. Eventually it closed in 1997. (Globalsecurity.org) The desire that San Diego had for a naval base came from as far back as 1893, as stated by Justin Ruhge. Roosevelt, who was the Assistant Secretary of the Navy at the time. They put renewed effort into San Diego having a training station. Eventually, in 1918 Captain Arthur MacArthur selected a site in Point Loma. (Rughe) At this point the citizens were able to acquire enough money to buy the 214 acres of land. • 77. Persuasive Essay On Animal Cruelty Animal cruelty is defined as a crime of inflicting pain, suffering, or death on an animal beyond necessary means for normal discipline. This crime comes in many different forms; it is not only limited to neglect and domestic animal abuse, but it can also be seen in today's "entertainment" industry. Although it is frequently overlooked, animals are being mistreated in various famous places that attract large crowds: SeaWorld, zoos, and the circus. The use of animals for entertainment purposes should unequivocally constitute animal cruelty. Animals involved in the industry suffer tremendously. During an interview with PETA, Heather Rally, a wildlife veterinarian shared her views on SeaWorld, "There is no doubt that all marine mammals bred in SeaWorld are suffering" she admitted (Martin). There is plenty of evidence to support the notion that the animals at SeaWorld are suffering both emotionally and physically. Sarah Fischbeck worked at SeaWorld San Diego for six years and was exposed to the dark, brutal side of the emplacement. She assured that if people knew or saw what she had seen, SeaWorld would not be able to sell another ticket (Schelling). Because orcas are snatched from their families and compelled to live in habitats and social situations that bear scant resemblance to their natural environment and order, they become stressed and aggressive. The thin–sliced judgment, explained most commonly, is the impression we have when we meet someone or experience something impressive. In the article, On the Face of It: The Psychology of Electability, Konnikova said "Those facial cues, in turn may stem from a far more basic impulse, since we respond to those same features as children.." this kind of intuitive reaction is originated from childhood and grows up with all the people, and it is supported by the data that in French parliamentary election. People rate candidates only by their facial creatures and then 72% of the data is corresponding to the actual election result, which is unbelievable for most people. Since the thin– sliced judgment is part of instinct and it is hard for us to change it, it does not limit or stablize our mind but makes us more creative. This kind of statement could be illustrated by several arguments. In Johnson's article Race–Baiting for the Presidency, it talks about the racism used by the candidates to win the campaign. Brenda Antonio, a manager in the accounting department at UCSD, lives in my neighborhood and has stated that her average drive time on a weekday morning is an hour (Antonio,2016). An hour commute may sound like an inconvenience but there some positive aspects to a long commute. In a study done by the Australian National University it was found that many people enjoy their commute and, "said this was the only time they got to themselves during the week, and so used it to dream, relax and meditate" (Bissel, 2015). In addition, I personally enjoy driving and don't mind the commute. Although an hour–long commute is not ideal there are certain options in order to reduce the negative aspects. Scheduling classes during low traffic times and maximizing the time spent commuting, like listening to books on tape, would ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Some of the history of San Diego State University is very interesting and it also began in the late 19th century. Founded on March 13,1897. It was first called San Diego Normal School, a training for elementary school teachers. In 1921, the Normal School became San Diego State. Also I found out that in the same year, the two–year San Diego Junior College, local community colleges, became a branch of San Diego State. That union lasted until 1946. In February 1931, students, faculty and staff moved into seven Mission–style buildings.Campus size is 283 acres. Due to the increase of students, they had relocated San Diego State to the East Side of Mission Valley. World war I and II both affected the student enrollment , and led many students and faculty members to serve in the armed forces. In 1987, the university's population grew bigger and it was at nearly 36,000 students and got the status of the largest university in California and tenth in the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Its recurring 70 degree weather and happy vibes make it an ideal place to live. San Diego also is home to and amazing skyline. My favorite building in San Diego is the fairly recently built Central Library located in the eastern part of downtown near Petco Park. Throughout the course of this paper I intend to inform the reader on what makes the Central Library unique and why it is a piece of art. The central value of the San Diego library is given through its uniqueness and is demonstrated through the relationship between its dome shaped top, slanted roof, large windows, and southern California landscape. One of the most unique parts ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It's large dome roof made up of interconnected steel beams give it a look that I can only describe as strong. The Central Library's windows give it a shine that can be seen from miles away making it pop and stand out from all of the other beautiful buildings in San Diego. It's slanted roof plays a crucial role by giving the opposite side of the building an unconventional look that catches the eye. The last key component of the Central Library is the California inspired landscape that brings the observer back to the realization that they are still in San Diego. The Central Library would not hold such value if it were not for the perfect relationship between the parts described. Without these key components it would just be another building that doesn't grab your eye. However because it contains these features I consider it a piece of art. • 117. Are Museums Vs. Museums? Hag. Stuffy? Museums are boring. Stuffy. Musty. Much too "cultured" and "bourgeois". Who cares about those old paintings? Not us, we say, as we flit from review book to science lab to English essay. Our parents want to plan something fun for the family, and perhaps we could try that new Italian place? Oh wait, we have to finish those notes. Do we even have time for fun anymore? Our friends are constantly busy on the weekends. The few plans hastily created on the group chat inevitably fade away as we are buried under the gargantuan strains of everyday life. Our minds are drained, exhausted, and oh so very stressed. We could use a break. Maybe even take a trip somewhere. Well, what about that "boring" museum? Although museums strike us as vapid, time–consuming, distant, and just plain stuffy, we should increase museum attendance in order to destress our lives and increase our overall awareness. Unfortunately, museums get a bad reputation as a place where people vacantly stare at paintings and sculptures with glazed eyes, drifting listlessly from room to room. Why spend money on a ticket when the same money could easily be spent on a new book, a colorful pen set, or a delicious meal? However, according to psychologists Matthew Killingsworth and Daniel Gilbert, "happiness is in the content of moment–to–moment experiences." The memory of an experience holds more weight than simply purchasing a new bag or shirt, and when people look back at past experiences, they tend to be happier when ... • 121. The Impact Of Modern Social Workers On The Community Introduction Modern social workers participate actively in helping people to obtain rights, services, benefits and opportunities that they might not otherwise obtain through micro policy advocacy, ? often prioritize the needs of vulnerable populations when they engage in advocacy? (Jansson, 2016, p. 21). Through community immersion, the social worker gains an understanding of the community attributes and desiderata, requiring them to utilize their experience and expertise to advocate policies that will satisfy the client?s needs (NASW, n.d.). Furthermore, when social workers immerse themselves in the community, it becomes an act of care and concern to serve the community. Compelling them to implement new changes, depict workable intervention schemes, and generate attainable treatment plans to satisfy the needs of the individuals, families and community. The community that will be addressed in this paper is National City. It is located five miles south of downtown San Diego and ten miles away from the US–Mexico border in Tijuana. National City is divided into three sub–communities based on their regional parks: Kimball, El Toyon and Las Palmas (KTU+A, 2014). Because of National City?s unique location in close proximity to downtown San Diego, it is considered an urban city, as defined by Jannson (2016), with a lot of commercial activity and impoverishment. Depending on the social worker?s role, knowledge on the type of community is crucial; when there is a deficit of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It was actually really funny, we sat in the "Splash Zone" and the seals splashed so much water all over us and it got all of our stuff wet. Next, my brother and I went to the humongous thrill rides, my favorite ride was the "Manta". When we got on I was excited, I could hear the wheels squeaking and then we took off I could feel the wind in my face my hair was waving everywhere and I was having so much fun on the Manta. Times are changing and stores like Whole Foods and Trader Joe's are becoming more popular. People are looking for healthier options and Kudler is not focused on that area. "Our customers are focused on the cooking and dining experience rather than the health conscious lifestyle" (Strategic Plan, 2003). There should be some diversity at Kudler without losing the focus that has made them successful. Assuming that stores are more focused on the types of food they carry rather than the gourmet experience is also a mistake. As a food retail business, the store should cater to a variety of tastes, so that it does offer that great cooking and dining experience for everyone. Strategy and Tactics Kudler is launching a few initiatives to help increase revenue and reduce costs. Expanding their services to offer in store parties is a great idea. Parties are good business because it allows people to visit the store and sample the items in stock. Allowing customers to mingle with the chefs and staff improves customer relations and is also a great networking opportunity for the store. The downside to this is that the store will have to be closed to have the function. An area should be designated for events like this so that it does not take away from business. Another great idea to coincide with this type of event is to offer baskets that include some of the stores best products. Adding a link on the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 149. Personal Narrative Essay : Why I Joining The Military Joining the military was astonishing in very many aspects in my life and it truly molded me into who I am today. I will genuinely say that the most important people in my life are my mother and father. I am not a parent myself but I have had years to only imagine how tough parenting can be; especially when raising three stubborn boys. My mother and father are very open minded and kind hearted to everyone regardless of who they are. I will be honest here and say that I may not have been as grateful as I should have been when I was a younger kid, but that's just life. When you are younger, everything is very simple and do not realize the little things in life. I had no other worries except for, "What's for dinner?". The military made me realize how much I appreciated and very much needed my loved ones. Travelling far away to Marine Corps Recruiting Depot, San Diego California and starting my very own journey was one of the toughest decisions at that time to make for myself. My mother is a sweetheart. She is known for her little giggles even when she is just talking casually with someone. She is light skinned, brown curly hair and brown eyes and talks very softly. Sometimes she is so soft spoken that I hardly hear what she is saying. It's a family laugh when no one can hear what she is trying to say. I sincerely thank my mother for all that she has done for not only myself, but for my two brothers. She is very often complimented for raising, "such great boys", as many would ... We found a huge crowd entering the stadium, in fact, the crowd was much more than we anticipated and expected. In appreciation of my brother, I wore his favorite team's t–shirt for the Tennessee Titians. The game was enjoyable and I found supporters for both of the team tailgating.
