The Themes Of Geography
Geography is the study of the earth surface or space as the home of humankind. Geography is not
simply about the study of maps and what is and where on the Earth, but also why it is there and not
somewhere else, sometimes referred to as "location and space distribution". It also studies whether
the cause is natural or human. There are generally two fields of Geography – first, Physical
Geography which studies geography and science to explain characteristics of earth such as
landforms; including mountains, rivers, glaciers, deserts, and ocean and climate that includes
temperature, rainfall, snowfall, humidity, and seasons, and things like natural resources, location of
countries and capitals, maps, features like latitude and longitude, and others ... Show more content

They are separated into new categories according to their main focuses of extent studies about Earth,
nature, or/and human. For example, within the physical geography, the study of the various forms of
the Earth especially, is called "geomorphology" and the study concerned with soils is called
"pedology". "Biogeography" emphasizes mainly on biology, botany, and ecology and spatial
relationship between animals and plants in the natural sciences, and "climatology" is the study of the
world's climates and their causes and effects in the past, present, and

Forensic Soil Science Solving Murder Cases
Forensic Soil Science Solving Murder Cases Summary: In the article, "How Pedology and
Mineralogy Helped Solve a Double Murder Case: Using Forensics to Inspire Future Generations of
Soil Scientists" by Robert W. Fitzpatrick and Mark D. Raven, ask how can Forensic Soil Science be
used to solve investigating cases, within law enforcement, such as a double murder case presented in
the article. As described in the article, Forensic Soil Science is the study of soil (surfaces) that use a
variety of soil information to resolve legal questions, problems, and hypotheses. How Forensic Soil
Science and solving murder cases can relate is clear, Forensic Soil Science takes evidence that
involves soil on objects and exams them to see if there's a match with the soil found on the piece of
evidence where the crime was commented. Most of the crimes involve some type of surface or soil,
which makes the both relate to one another. The research disciplines that are related to this research
are, Criminology, Soil Science, Pedology, and Mineralogy.
The outcome of the case was Matthew Holding, the man accused of the double murder of his
grandmother and mother, was found guilty by the evidence that the Forensic Soil Science team of
South Australia, known as, "Centre for Australian Forensic Soil Science", provided. The team
concluded matches of the soil found on the shovel from the trunk of his car, that Matthew used to
buried his mother and grandmother with the soil where the bodies were found.

Prototypical Descriptions Of The Parenting Styles Of...
When I began discovering the factors that shaped my development into the person I now am as an
adult, It was easy to reflect on the positive moments I got to share with people. Yet the more impact
things in my life that impacted me came from the moments where my mistakes affected others. My
development forced me to recall emotional times from my childhood that began to sculpt my
thinking an perception of myself. I was raised by two parents who both values hard work and
perseverance. I wanted to see if there were terms for various parenting styles and I learned about the
described parenting styles of Dianna Baumrind. Psychologist Dianna Baumrind published
Prototypical Descriptions of 3 Parenting Styles in the year 1966. She outlines the various parenting
styles as The Permissive parent, The Authoritarian parent and The Authoritative parent. Within these
styles of parenting certain qualities and imposed upon the child, and began that process of shaping
their character as they mature and grow psychologically. Looking at Bauminds work I concluded, I
was raised with a blend of Authoritarian and Authoritative parents. Authoritarian parents believe that
children by nature are strong–willed and self–indulgent. They value obedience to higher authority as
a virtue unto itself. Authoritarian parents see their primary job is to be the bending of the will of the
child to that of authority, to people such as Parents, Teachers, or the Church. Willfulness is seen to
be the root of

Classroom Reflection
2. I am an activist. Walking into ETST 111 on the first day I was excited to critically analyze the
history and repercussion of predominate movements that have undoubtedly affected the way in
which society works today. Moreover, I was intrigued as to how my previous work as an activist
will translate in my academic strives to understand what great movement building concepts are. The
simple congregation of the class serves as a median to begin dialogue. I was curious to see how the
structure of the class was going to mediate the aforesaid. In this part of the assignment, I will
critically analyze how effective and ineffective the course structure, content, format, grading and
decision–making process was for the class:
The structure of the classroom is designed about an enclosed four wall space, where each breadth is
shorter and deeper than the one before, is claustrophobic and impossible. The state has indoctrinated
us to believe that the optimal learning experience is held inside impacted classrooms that have a
disproportionate teach to student ratio. This phenomenon is clearly seen in our own classroom,
where the own classroom that we are assigned for the quarter was specifically designed to facilitate
discussion through different resources allocated throughout the room which in return remained
useless due to the impacted tables implemented in the classroom to accommodate an overcrowded
upper division class. I critique the space we were assigned to because for the whole quarter the class
was structured mainly around class discussion. I found the whole situation an oxymoron simply
because the setting conflicted with the structure of class. Specifically, I often felt disconnected with
the class because for the most part I could faintly hear my pears discoursing their opinion as I stared
directly into the back of their heads. Instead of the intent listening and intense eye contact that
should be used to maximize efficient dialogue and conversation, so for the most part the table
arrangement ineffectively allowed for meaningful conversation that incorporated all the students in
the class. Stern Neill and Rebecca Etheridge authors of "Flexible Learning Spaces: The Integration

17 STUDY FIELDS – DEFINITIONS
Geology– It is the study of the Earth, which materials compose it, and how they work together, their
processes (earthquakes, floods, erosion) and changes that they have gone through (mountains
emerging, valleys, etc.). It also studies the organisms that had been on earth (fossils). It is a wide
subject that can be subdivided into fields such as minerology, petrology and so on.
Mineralogy– An important part of Geology is the study of Minerals, their physical properties,
structure, and chemistry. It helps us understand how they react with one another depending on the
circumstances including weathering, fire, how deep, with living or non–living organisms.
Minerology is broad and interesting field of study.

This area of Geology studies the Earthquakes and its energy.
Volcanology – This is another discipline of Geology that studies the Volcanoes and their energy,
energy that comes from the heat from inside the Earth and causes eruptions. This studies the
volcanoes and its impacts.
Structural Geology – When large bodies of rocks are formed these did not happen in one day. They
have history within that can be studied. Structural Geology discovers this history to be able to tell
what happened before, what kind of tectonic plate occurred. Structural Geology supports other
Geology areas such as Petrology to discover natural gas or petroleum to say the least.
Geomorphology – Is the area of Geology that studies the form of the land, processes, and forms
(Earth and other planets). The landscape of a Tundra or of a Dessert, or Glaciers now to disappear.
This discipline takes a good look at Tsunamis, floods, volcanic eruptions, anything that can make
the landscape change or disappear.
Process Geomorphology – This studies anything that can make Earth's landscape change, such as
weathering, flood, and erosion. We as humans yield landscape changes

The Role Of SMAP In Rocket Science
Who knew that SMAP would relate to rocket science? If I didn't know better, I would've assumed
that it was onomatopoeia for a unique type of snapping–maybe even snapping with your toes. But
jokes aside, it is pretty great that the water issue is getting the attention of programs like NASA.
When we approach the problem from as many angles as we can, eventually we will find the right
combination of actions to solve the crisis on our hands. Unfortunately, SMAP does not solve any
problems by itself, nor, in my opinion, do anything efficiently. The real issues here are finding out
what places are the driest right now, and how can we those areas water. While SMAP does the
former, I think there are better ways to do so. I'm no expert, but I think

Essay on Internship
The senior that I chose to interview was Devon Smith also known "Mouse". Devon is a graduate of
Laurel High School and is currently attending Bowie State University. He is a student athlete and a
member of the Pedology program. In this interview I will ask questions in regards to his field
placement to better understand how and why things work when entering the field. I feel as though I
am prepared for my internship, but hopefully after interviewing Devon I won't be as nervous about
my field placement. I realize that the information he presents is imperative to me starting my
internship.

A: Chill, relax, workout, just things I like to do to get my mind of whatever it is that is troubling me.
Q: Have encountered any safety risks while working in the field?
A: I cannot really say that I have.
Q: Do you still believe Pedology: Child Studies is your chosen field?
A: Yes, because I love to work with kids and I am currently working in a middle school
environment.
Q: How did process recordings and competencies help you develop your writing skills and at the
same time show you the importance of documentation? Did you learn more about the problems that
the client was experiencing? Did you use the problem solving method or the integrative model?
A: Process recordings and competencies made it easier for documentation and to record incidents
that happen. I learned more when the kids started to open up. I let the kids speak about there
opinions on things, I don't force my opinions on them I just assist them in finding what it is they
need to understand. I used the problem solving method. To be honest I can't remember the integrated
method.
Q: Which do you prefer working with micro, macro or mezzo populations?
A: I prefer micro or macro. If you can interact and maintain the attention of a larger group then you
should have no problem working with a group

Pedology In Criminology
The Earth's crust consists of minerals, minerals that can be found in specific locations. In criminal
cases, police officers and investigators often ignore crust in crime scenes and as a result, critical
evidence is missed. I believe that, soil can be processed and examined to obtain information and
evidence. In the article "How Pedology and Mineralogy Helped Solve a Double Murder Case: Using
Forensics to Inspire Future Generations of Soil Scientists" Robert W. Fitzpatrick and Mark D. Raven
support soil science and explain the benefits of it to criminology. In a specific criminal case, a man
called police to report "...that both his wife and mother–in–law were missing," additionally "his
wife's car and his 22–yr–old son Matt hew Holding were also missing" (Fitzpatrick and Raven 5).
Later, investigators found his wife's car abandoned and police officers arrested Matt Holding. Matt
Holding refused to cooperate and the two ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Soil Scientists obtained soil from the shovel and boots and was now considered crucial evidence to
locate the whereabouts of the two missing women. The soil contained specific minerals that identify
the temperature, pressure, moisture, environmental properties, etc. to lead a trail back to the crime
scene. In this specific case, criminologists, geologists, and pedologists worked together to provide
information and justice. Criminologist investigators realized that "the nature of the soil on the shovel
suggested that the suspect might have buried his victims" (Fitzpatrick and Raven 5). Pedologists
were processing and examining the mineral on the shovel fast as possible because the victims may
still have been alive. Geologists were standing by and ready to map out possible burial site locations
to investigate and excavate. The research disciplines worked together to progress efficiently and
accurately. The research group had the knowledge and tools to solve the criminal

The Two Major Sub-Sects Of The College Community
The college community is a vast landscape where students and instructors participate in a network
of dialogue that often leads to profound changes within and outside of the community. Two relevant
topics of discussion and activism on many college campuses involve the growth of STEM career
paths and likewise growth of tuition costs nationwide. By analyzing the two major sub–sects of the
college community, professors and students, one can explore the ways they interact with respect to
ideas about STEM's worth taking into account rising tuition for all students. From my interview
with Dr.Kennedy, a chemistry professor, I discovered the various platforms he has used to convince
certain students of STEM's potential, changing their views and ... Show more content on

In addition, he also specifically mentioned English as a class where he was able to express ways in
which students could limit their debt. As mentioned previously, professors often have the power to
direct the paths a conversation takes if any. This is important when it comes to student literacy as the
magnitude of discussion of STEM degrees among students is typically directly related to a
professors' attempts at exercising their own literacy on STEM degrees and tuition. Furthermore, one
to one advising plays an important role in the transmission of opinions and ideas on the subject of
STEM degrees' worth. From the interview I conducted with Dr.Kennedy, he stated that one on one
advising is often the most effective way at convincing a student to follow a STEM career in which
they are apt to. Since Dr.Kennedy only advises students to choose a career path suited to them, the
meeting is more personal and fit for each individual. Therefore, he is able to lead many students
down their proper path by adapting his overarching views about STEM's potentially worth to
specific individuals. This is likely also the setting where strong views concerning STEM are
adopted. Unlike the professor, from my interview with Suen, I found that students most likely don't
counsel each other in the manner of Dr.Kennedy. Not surprisingly, students are probably caught up
with their individual careers and views about where

The Themes Of Geography

  • 1. The Themes Of Geography Geography is the study of the earth surface or space as the home of humankind. Geography is not simply about the study of maps and what is and where on the Earth, but also why it is there and not somewhere else, sometimes referred to as "location and space distribution". It also studies whether the cause is natural or human. There are generally two fields of Geography – first, Physical Geography which studies geography and science to explain characteristics of earth such as landforms; including mountains, rivers, glaciers, deserts, and ocean and climate that includes temperature, rainfall, snowfall, humidity, and seasons, and things like natural resources, location of countries and capitals, maps, features like latitude and longitude, and others ... For example, within the physical geography, the study of the various forms of the Earth especially, is called "geomorphology" and the study concerned with soils is called "pedology". "Biogeography" emphasizes mainly on biology, botany, and ecology and spatial relationship between animals and plants in the natural sciences, and "climatology" is the study of the world's climates and their causes and effects in the past, present, and ... • 3. Forensic Soil Science Solving Murder Cases Forensic Soil Science Solving Murder Cases Summary: In the article, "How Pedology and Mineralogy Helped Solve a Double Murder Case: Using Forensics to Inspire Future Generations of Soil Scientists" by Robert W. Fitzpatrick and Mark D. Raven, ask how can Forensic Soil Science be used to solve investigating cases, within law enforcement, such as a double murder case presented in the article. As described in the article, Forensic Soil Science is the study of soil (surfaces) that use a variety of soil information to resolve legal questions, problems, and hypotheses. How Forensic Soil Science and solving murder cases can relate is clear, Forensic Soil Science takes evidence that involves soil on objects and exams them to see if there's a match with the soil found on the piece of evidence where the crime was commented. Most of the crimes involve some type of surface or soil, which makes the both relate to one another. The research disciplines that are related to this research are, Criminology, Soil Science, Pedology, and Mineralogy. The outcome of the case was Matthew Holding, the man accused of the double murder of his grandmother and mother, was found guilty by the evidence that the Forensic Soil Science team of South Australia, known as, "Centre for Australian Forensic Soil Science", provided. The team concluded matches of the soil found on the shovel from the trunk of his car, that Matthew used to buried his mother and grandmother with the soil where the bodies were found. ... • 5. Prototypical Descriptions Of The Parenting Styles Of... When I began discovering the factors that shaped my development into the person I now am as an adult, It was easy to reflect on the positive moments I got to share with people. Yet the more impact things in my life that impacted me came from the moments where my mistakes affected others. My development forced me to recall emotional times from my childhood that began to sculpt my thinking an perception of myself. I was raised by two parents who both values hard work and perseverance. I wanted to see if there were terms for various parenting styles and I learned about the described parenting styles of Dianna Baumrind. Psychologist Dianna Baumrind published Prototypical Descriptions of 3 Parenting Styles in the year 1966. She outlines the various parenting styles as The Permissive parent, The Authoritarian parent and The Authoritative parent. Within these styles of parenting certain qualities and imposed upon the child, and began that process of shaping their character as they mature and grow psychologically. Looking at Bauminds work I concluded, I was raised with a blend of Authoritarian and Authoritative parents. Authoritarian parents believe that children by nature are strong–willed and self–indulgent. They value obedience to higher authority as a virtue unto itself. Authoritarian parents see their primary job is to be the bending of the will of the child to that of authority, to people such as Parents, Teachers, or the Church. Willfulness is seen to be the root of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Classroom Reflection 2. I am an activist. Walking into ETST 111 on the first day I was excited to critically analyze the history and repercussion of predominate movements that have undoubtedly affected the way in which society works today. Moreover, I was intrigued as to how my previous work as an activist will translate in my academic strives to understand what great movement building concepts are. The simple congregation of the class serves as a median to begin dialogue. I was curious to see how the structure of the class was going to mediate the aforesaid. In this part of the assignment, I will critically analyze how effective and ineffective the course structure, content, format, grading and decision–making process was for the class: The structure of the classroom is designed about an enclosed four wall space, where each breadth is shorter and deeper than the one before, is claustrophobic and impossible. The state has indoctrinated us to believe that the optimal learning experience is held inside impacted classrooms that have a disproportionate teach to student ratio. This phenomenon is clearly seen in our own classroom, where the own classroom that we are assigned for the quarter was specifically designed to facilitate discussion through different resources allocated throughout the room which in return remained useless due to the impacted tables implemented in the classroom to accommodate an overcrowded upper division class. I critique the space we were assigned to because for the whole quarter the class was structured mainly around class discussion. I found the whole situation an oxymoron simply because the setting conflicted with the structure of class. Specifically, I often felt disconnected with the class because for the most part I could faintly hear my pears discoursing their opinion as I stared directly into the back of their heads. Instead of the intent listening and intense eye contact that should be used to maximize efficient dialogue and conversation, so for the most part the table arrangement ineffectively allowed for meaningful conversation that incorporated all the students in the class. Ap Human Geography Chapter 14 Summary 17 STUDY FIELDS – DEFINITIONS Geology– It is the study of the Earth, which materials compose it, and how they work together, their processes (earthquakes, floods, erosion) and changes that they have gone through (mountains emerging, valleys, etc.). It also studies the organisms that had been on earth (fossils). It is a wide subject that can be subdivided into fields such as minerology, petrology and so on. Mineralogy– An important part of Geology is the study of Minerals, their physical properties, structure, and chemistry. It helps us understand how they react with one another depending on the circumstances including weathering, fire, how deep, with living or non–living organisms. Minerology is broad and interesting field of study. Igneous ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This area of Geology studies the Earthquakes and its energy. This studies the volcanoes and its impacts. Structural Geology – When large bodies of rocks are formed these did not happen in one day. They have history within that can be studied. Structural Geology discovers this history to be able to tell what happened before, what kind of tectonic plate occurred. Structural Geology supports other Geology areas such as Petrology to discover natural gas or petroleum to say the least. Geomorphology – Is the area of Geology that studies the form of the land, processes, and forms (Earth and other planets). The landscape of a Tundra or of a Dessert, or Glaciers now to disappear. • 15. The Role Of SMAP In Rocket Science Who knew that SMAP would relate to rocket science? If I didn't know better, I would've assumed that it was onomatopoeia for a unique type of snapping–maybe even snapping with your toes. But jokes aside, it is pretty great that the water issue is getting the attention of programs like NASA. When we approach the problem from as many angles as we can, eventually we will find the right combination of actions to solve the crisis on our hands. Unfortunately, SMAP does not solve any problems by itself, nor, in my opinion, do anything efficiently. The real issues here are finding out what places are the driest right now, and how can we those areas water. While SMAP does the former, I think there are better ways to do so. In criminal cases, police officers and investigators often ignore crust in crime scenes and as a result, critical evidence is missed. I believe that, soil can be processed and examined to obtain information and evidence. In the article "How Pedology and Mineralogy Helped Solve a Double Murder Case: Using Forensics to Inspire Future Generations of Soil Scientists" Robert W. Fitzpatrick and Mark D. Raven support soil science and explain the benefits of it to criminology. In a specific criminal case, a man called police to report "...that both his wife and mother–in–law were missing," additionally "his wife's car and his 22–yr–old son Matt hew Holding were also missing" (Fitzpatrick and Raven 5). Criminologist investigators realized that "the nature of the soil on the shovel suggested that the suspect might have buried his victims" (Fitzpatrick and Raven 5). Pedologists were processing and examining the mineral on the shovel fast as possible because the victims may still have been alive. • 21. The Two Major Sub-Sects Of The College Community The college community is a vast landscape where students and instructors participate in a network of dialogue that often leads to profound changes within and outside of the community. Two relevant topics of discussion and activism on many college campuses involve the growth of STEM career paths and likewise growth of tuition costs nationwide. By analyzing the two major sub–sects of the college community, professors and students, one can explore the ways they interact with respect to ideas about STEM's worth taking into account rising tuition for all students. From my interview with Dr.Kennedy, a chemistry professor, I discovered the various platforms he has used to convince certain students of STEM's potential, changing their views and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In addition, he also specifically mentioned English as a class where he was able to express ways in which students could limit their debt. As mentioned previously, professors often have the power to direct the paths a conversation takes if any. This is important when it comes to student literacy as the magnitude of discussion of STEM degrees among students is typically directly related to a professors' attempts at exercising their own literacy on STEM degrees and tuition. Furthermore, one to one advising plays an important role in the transmission of opinions and ideas on the subject of STEM degrees' worth. From the interview I conducted with Dr.Kennedy, he stated that one on one advising is often the most effective way at convincing a student to follow a STEM career in which they are apt to. Since Dr.Kennedy only advises students to choose a career path suited to them, the meeting is more personal and fit for each individual. Therefore, he is able to lead many students down their proper path by adapting his overarching views about STEM's potentially worth to specific individuals. This is likely also the setting where strong views concerning STEM are adopted. Unlike the professor, from my interview with Suen, I found that students most likely don't counsel each other in the manner of Dr.Kennedy. Not surprisingly, students are probably caught up with their individual careers and views about where ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
