2. INTRODUCTION
Allergic rhinitis, also known as hay fever, is a type
of inflammation in the nose which occurs when
the immune system overreacts to allergens in the
air.
Vasomotor rhinitis
Rhinitis is an inflammation of the membranes
inside the nose. Irritants or allergens can cause this
inflammation.
3. There are also times when there’s no specific
cause for the inflammation. Other names for this
condition are no allergic rhinitis and idiopathic
rhinitis.
Chronic rhinitis is a chronic inflammation
of nose characterized by atrophy of nasal
mucosa, including the glands, turbinate
bones and the nerve elements supplying the
nose.
4. Chronic sinusitis By definition it lasts longer than
three months and can be caused by many
different diseases that share chronic inflammation
of the sinuses as a common symptom.
Chronic sinusitis cases are subdivided into cases
with polyps and cases without polyps.
When polyps are present, the condition is called
chronic hyperplastic sinusitis
5. Nasal polyp are non cancerous growths within
the nose or sinuses. Symptoms include trouble
breathing through the nose, loss of smell,
decreased taste, post nasal drip, and a runny
nose.
Deviated nasal septum is a physical disorder of
the nose, involving a displacement of the nasal
septum.

the unusual growth ("hypertrophy") of
the adenoid tonsil.
