2. INTRODUCTION
• BSD are skin conditions characterised by blister formation.
• A blister is an accumulation of fluid between cells of the
epidermis or upper dermis.
• Causes of blister could be genetic, physical, inflammatory,
immunologic and as a reaction to drugs.
• BSDs are mostly autoimmune .

3. CAUSES
• Exposure to ultraviolet light
• Radiation therapy
• Drugs like:- furosemide
• Non steroidal anti-inflammatory agents,
• captopril
• Penicillamine
• antibiotics.

A. Epidermolysis Bullosa B . Hailey-Hailey disease ( Benign
familial pemphigus)

5. IMMUNOLOGIC BULLOUS
DISORDERS
• Pemphigus
• Pemphigoid
• Dermatitis Herpetiformis (DH)
• Chronic dermatoses of childhood (linear IgA dis.)

6. PEMPHIGUS
• Pemphigus is a rare group of blistering autoimmune diseases
that affect the skin and mucous membranes.

7. BULLOUS PEMPHIGOID
• an autoimmune blistering disorder
• Antibodies binds to normal skin at the BMZ(basement
membrane zone)
• It is more common than pemphigus
• Mainly affect the elderly
• Mucosal involvement is rare

8. BULLOUS PEMPHIGOID

9. • Duhring’s disease is a chronic blistering
skin condition, characterised by blisters filled with a watery
fluid.
• It is also known as Dermatitis herpetiformis
