6. Student Experience Initiatives
One of the goals of ITT Tech is to assist
students with obtaining relevant “real world”
experience while enrolled at ITT Tech.
Two programs can assist with accomplishing
this goal:
Student Professional Experience program
Classroom partnership projects
PAC member, your input and advice are
valuable with respect to these programs.
6
7. Student Professional Experience
(SPE)
An SPE is an opportunity for students to
gain professional experience that relates
to the knowledge and skills taught in the
core courses in their programs of study.
An SPE may be paid positions, unpaid
not-for-credit “internships,” Federal Work
Study, and/or volunteer work.
7
8. Classroom Partnership Projects
Most courses at ITT Tech require hands-
on exercises for which a student must
complete a project or parts of a project.
In many cases it is possible to complete
the class project in partnership with a
company or non-profit organization.
This provides students with a “real world”
project and also serves the community.
