7. STEPS IN EXPERIENTIAL INSTRUCTION
(Learners’ Work)
• Performing - Learners (L) perform the activity
given by the Facilitator (F) in groups;
• Interactive Learning - All the L of the group
brainstorm on the possible answers to
questions;
• Publishing - The leaders of the group publish
and report their group work or output;
8. (Facilitator’s Work)
• Processing of Outputs - The F examines/
dissects the groups’ work;
• Comparing - The F identifies commonalities,
differences, key words/phrases in the different
group’s work;
• Organizing Ideas - With the F excellent art of
questioning, key ideas, concepts will be
formulated;
STEPS IN EXPERIENTIAL INSTRUCTION
9. • Enriching - The F supplements learners’ ideas
with a short lecture, video clip, and the like.
• Further discussions and explanations shall be
done by the F;
(Facilitator’s Work)
STEPS IN EXPERIENTIAL INSTRUCTION
10. (Facilitator’s and Learners’ Collaborative Work)
• Synthesizing - The F shall pose
questions to the L to come up with the
Generalization Statement/
Conclusion/ Summary
/Synthesis/Rule.
STEPS IN EXPERIENTIAL INSTRUCTION
11. (LEARNERS’ WORK)
• Practicing - The F gives exercises or
other similar activities to the L for
them to apply the knowledge/
concepts/skills/competencies learned.
STEPS IN EXPERIENTIAL INSTRUCTION
15. STEPS IN EXPLICIT INSTRUCTION
The teacher can state the following:
At the end of today’s lesson, you
will be able to…
When we finish our lesson, you
will be able to…
I’m going to teach you about…
of the Lesson/Topic by the Teacher
16. STEPS IN EXPLICIT INSTRUCTION
by the Teacher
- Also known as “Show and Tell”
- Teacher will tell, explain, and show or model
how to do things.
Example: The teacher states the following:
First, I’ll tell you what to do. Then, I’ll show
you how to do it.
So you should be thinking about how you
will do it on your own, when it is your turn.
17. STEPS IN EXPLICIT INSTRUCTION
- The learners are given an opportunity to
practice in group or pairs with the teacher’s
assistance.
- Allow plenty of time for learners to try
what the teacher has taught.
- Practice must be done many times as
needed until the learners are ready to
work independently (If time warrants.)
18. STEPS IN EXPLICIT INSTRUCTION
- called autonomous practice
with little guidance of the
teacher who will be roaming
around to see the work of each
learner
19. STEPS IN EXPLICIT INSTRUCTION
- also called the Closure part
- to know how much the learners
learned from the lesson
- A formative test to know if you are
going to reteach the lesson or not
and to know whom to remediate,
reinforce or enrich/enhance.
Editor's Notes
Experiential learning also called 4as and facilitating adult Learning
The F stays in this step (ANALYSIS) long enough for the learners to understand the lesson very well
The Learning Competency shall dictate the kind of APPLICATION to be given to the learners.
