This Week’s Assignments
Reading – This week in Reading we will continue our discussions about reading
workshop and how it works.
Writing – We will continue discussions about writing workshop. We will talk
about choosing topics from our ideas list or our free writing. We will also
continue our practice with free writing in our writing notebooks.
Spelling – Students will be given Unit 2 Spelling words for the week. *On the
back of each list is some grammar practice. We will complete the first few
together and the students will complete the rest at home to turn in on Friday.
They will be tested over the words on Friday.
Math – We are continuing our work with multiplication, arrays, and multiples.
We will also be reasoning about numbers and their factors. It is so important the
students know their multiplication facts. Possible quiz on Friday, check your
child’s assignment book.
Science - Students will continue learning about rocks and soil. We will have a
speaker come talk to us about the layers of soil this week. We will fill out our
study guides on Tuesday, play a review game on Thursday, and take a short quiz
on Friday.
Reminders to Parents
1. T-Shirt money for your child’s classroom t-shirt if you plan on ordering
one.
2. Check your child’s assignment book nightly and ask them about their day at
school.
