Mrs. Roussell's class will focus on inferences in reading, poetry writing in writing, probability in math, and wrapping up the matter unit in science this week. Students will have spelling and grammar assignments. Important upcoming dates include picture retakes, the end of the first quarter, parent-teacher conferences, and no school days. The newsletter also thanks two students for their efforts and behavior.

This Week’s Assignments
Reading – This week in Reading we will be talking about inferences.
Writing – Narratives have been turned in. We will be looking at poetry and trying to
write some of our own.
Spelling – Students will be given Unit 8 Spelling words for the week. Grammar
practice will be due Friday. They will be tested over the words on Friday.
Math – We will be moving on to probability. We will be talking about likelihood and
whether certain games are fair/not fair and why.
Science - We will wrap up our matter unit this week. We will do one last experiment
on Monday, Study Guide Tuesday, Review game Wednesday, and Test Thursday.

2. Check your child’s assignment book nightly and ask them about their day at school.
