1. Mrs. Roussell’s Classroom Newsletter
Sept. 20th – Sept. 24th
This Week’s Assignments
Math – We will continue graphing and line plots. We will continue looking at different
ways data can be plotted so it’s easier to read. Students will also be working on how to
write statements about this data using the terms mean, median, mode, and range.
Writing – Students will work on editing and revising their “When I Was Young” story to
be published.
Spelling – We will continue with our whole class sort this week. We will be working
whole group for a while until the students are familiar with the different types of sorts.
Reading – This week we will be using the book Miss Rumphius to focus on sequencing
and author’s purpose. Students will continue meeting in reading groups where we will
work further on reading strategies.
Social Studies – Missouri Regions will be our focus this week. Students will need to
know the five regions of Missouri and a fact about each one.
