1. Sweet Scones
A tasty treat you can make yourself

2. Ingredients
200 g Self -
Raising Flour
125 ml Milk
50 g sugar
50 g
margarine

3. Optional Extras
25 g sugar
50 g currants
or sultanas
50 g chopped
Glaced cherries

4. Switch on oven
(Gas 7, Electric 210ºC)

5. Grease baking tray
lightly

6. Place flour in a bowl
and cut margarine into
small pieces

7. Rub margarine into
flour, using your
fingertips Until it
looks like breadcrumbs

8. Stir in sugar plus
any extras like
currants, cherries
or sultanas

9. Add milk a little at a
time with care and
stir in with a knife

10. Check whether the dough
forms a ball by
squeezing with your
hands…

11. If it is too crumbly, add
a drop more milk and
mix

12. If the mixture becomes
too sticky , add a little
more flour.

13. The dough should come
together into a ball
shape, but should be a
little sticky.

14. Place dough on lighty
floury table and roll out
until is the thickness of
your thumb.

15. Use a cutter to cut
out the stones and
place on your
greased baking tray

16. Brush tops with milk

17. bake in oven for
approximately ten
minutes until risen
and golden brown

18. Use a fish slice to
lift onto a cooling
wire to cool before
placing in your tub

19. Add some Jam or
some Cream Taste,
and Enjoy!!!!
