1. Evaluation Question 3 What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
2. What does a production company do? A production company is responsible for the product of any new film, television program or radio channel. The company may also be responsible for funding for the production. It can either be a small or large company The larger companies have more money to spend on actors, special effects and studio space or time, also larger companies are recognized to the distribution companies therefore more of their films are released in the big cinemas than the little production companies who have very little budget.
3. Production Companies We choose Voskar Films as our production company because they are a relatively small production company and we had never heard of them before and they have a good animation that fitted with our film.
4. Distribution Companies We used Columbia Pictures as our distribution company because they are a big, well known company. They were also the distribution company that bought out Social Network and that is the film we have based ours on so because they have already bought out a film like ours before they might not want to distribute another film that is the same as one already been released thinking they would lose money do this.
5. How might our film be funded? Our production company Voskar Films will fund our project. They will pay for the actors, props, cameras, editing software, soundtrack software and animation software. This independent film company may receive funding from the film council. If this film needed funding then we may receive funding through Film London Microwave Scheme such as the thriller film of Shifty. The funding will increase the release of the film and will go towards publicity and media costs. However, this is different than receiving funding through a majour film company as they will have enough money to receive money from the studios itself and will not need to receive funding through the council as it is a major company.
