2. • A production company is responsible is responsible for the
production of new media, radio, film or television
programme. The production company may be either a
small company like PolyGram Filmed Entertainment or a
larger one like Paramount Pictures, selling its products to a
film studio or presenting it at a theatrical venue or it may
be the studio itself. The company may also be responsible
for raising funding for the film. For our film we would use
Twisted Pictures, they mainly produce horror films and the
most known film they have produced is the Saw franchise.

3. • A distribution company is an organization
involved in the process of making a product or
service available for use or consumption by a
consumer. They are also responsible for the
pricing and promotion of a film. For our film we
would use Lions Gate Entertainment because it is
one of the most successful distribution
companies which our audience will recognise.
They have distributed for horror films like
Daybreakers, The Last Exorcism and The Saw
Franchise.

4. The funding for a film like ours would come from public
funding like the UK Film Council. They provide funds from
the National Lottery to cover production, development
and exhibition. They have three funds: The Commercial
Fund for commercial project, The New Cinema Fund which
is for new film making and the Feature development which
is for new talent and established film makers. We would
have the the new cinema fund because it is for new
innovative film making.

5. • Funding for our film may also come from the
distribution company Lionsagate as they have provided
funding for their films. In terms of budget wise and cast
crew size a film that is similar to ours institutionally is
Cabin Fever. The film was shot on a small budget. Their
cast and crew size was quite small and it was released
world wide by theatrical release, film festivals and
DVD. Which is how our film would be released.
Another film that is similar to ours is Sorority Row and
Tormented because like ours one of the locations is in a
school and they have similar themes to our film like a
group of people are being stalked by a serial killer.
