For solar metallization process, analyzed the feasibility of inkjet printing of photovoltaic materials (silver nano-ink, dielectric
ink, etchant-dopant ink) using Trident 256Jet-S industrial printhead. Solar front contacts of crystalline solar cells were
developed using the selective emitter approach. Printing of OLED electrodes was also evaluated for Universal Display
Corporation (UDC), New Jersey, based on the performance of silver nano- ink.

Direct Write Laboratory/ Laboratory for Applied Electromagnetic and Communications (LAEC), Rapid City, SD
                   Metallic nanoparticles synthesis using various chemical routes such as reverse micelle based
                   microemulsion synthesis, polyol based synthesis, sol-gel synthesis and their scale up (upto 50-100g )
                   Scale up of desired synthesis methods (50-100 g nanoparticles)
                   Modification of synthesis methods by adopting into cost-effective processes such as solvent reuse,
                   minimizing process time and developing procedure for general use.

INSTRUMENT PROFICIENCY FOR NANOSCALE CHARACTERIZATION
TEM (CM-10, Philips and Hitachi H-7000 FA), HRTEM (JEOL 3011), SEM (Zeiss), AFM (Pacific Nanotechnology,
Agilent), Dual focus optical microscope (Olympus BX 61), QUELS (quasi elastic light scattering) Powder XRD and XPS
(Kratos Axis Ultra). HRTEM, HRSEM, EDAX and XPS were used at EMAL (Electron Microbeam Analysis Laboratory)
at University of Michigan. Other routine characterization techniques such as TGA, UV, FTIR, AAS, ICP. and
ultracentrifugation.

Whites) South Dakota School of Mines and Tech., Rapid City, SD. M.S. Chemistry, (December 2008) Thesis: Synthesis of colloidal metal nanoparticles and study of their self-assembled superlattices (Advisor: Professor Terry P. Bigioni) University of Toledo, Toledo, OH. B.Sc./ M.Sc. Chemistry, (June 2003) / Inorganic Chemistry, (June 2005) University of Delhi, Delhi, India. RELEVANT TECHNICAL EXPERTISE: Expertise in nanomaterials synthesis and scale up using wet chemical techniques Familiar with silver nanomaterial self-assembly using drop-drying mechanism Experience in ink formulation, rheological optimization, spin coating, aerosol jet and inkjet printing Experience in material characterization using TEM, SEM, EDS, pXRD, TGA, XPS and spectroscopy Experience in preparing reports, writing research articles and invention disclosure INDUSTRIAL RESEARCH INTERNSHIP: Trident Industrial Inkjet Industrial Inkjet - An ITW Company, CT May 2011 – September 2011, February 1-7, 2012 For solar metallization process, analyzed the feasibility of inkjet printing of photovoltaic materials (silver nano-ink, dielectric ink, etchant-dopant ink) using Trident 256Jet-S industrial printhead. Solar front contacts of crystalline solar cells were developed using the selective emitter approach. Printing of OLED electrodes was also evaluated for Universal Display Corporation (UDC), New Jersey, based on the performance of silver nano- ink. RESEARCH EXPERIENCE Graduate Research Assistant , Spring-2009-Present Direct Write Laboratory/ Laboratory for Applied Electromagnetic and Communications (LAEC), Rapid City, SD Metallic nanoparticles synthesis using various chemical routes such as reverse micelle based microemulsion synthesis, polyol based synthesis, sol-gel synthesis and their scale up (upto 50-100g ) Scale up of desired synthesis methods (50-100 g nanoparticles) Modification of synthesis methods by adopting into cost-effective processes such as solvent reuse, minimizing process time and developing procedure for general use. Nanomaterial characterization using TEM, SEM, EDS, pXRD, TGA, XPS and spectroscopy techniques Understanding of polymer and organic ligand capping for surface passivation of nanoparticles Silver nano-ink formulation, rheological optimization and printing using inkjet and aerosol Jet (M3D) Metallic nanoparticle sintering studies, adhesion test and conductivity measurement Detailed printing optimization for silver nano-ink to achieve line widths below 100µm on ITO and silicon Printing solar collector grid on ITO, silicon and plastic substrates. Cu nanoparticles were used as a catalyst for the aza-Michael reactions of N-alkyl and N-arylpiperazines with acrylonitrile. Ni nanoparticles were used to carry out chemoselective reduction of aldehydes.
