With the occurrence of natural consequences, it is important to
know how to deal properly with the child.
Giving punishment which is very unlikely to be enforced wont be
suitable for every occasion.
Proper discipline of a child is must and it shouldn’t be treated as a
mere punishment.

3. Discipline Should Teach the Consequences of Behavior
When dealing with inappropriate or unacceptable behavior of
children, it is important to link the consequence of the behavior
in a realistic way to what has occurred.

4. Discipline is not a Punishment
Discipline, after all, is not synonymous with punishment. It is the
process of teaching appropriate behavior and rewarding it.
Inappropriate or dangerous behavior is met with natural
consequences that encourage the child to adopt the correct
behavior.

5. Help Your Child to Understand the Situation
Instead of scolding your child for a repetitive matter, make your
child understand the situation and try not to repeat the mistake
soon. Children quite naturally like to feel that the adults in their
lives are running the show. Peace and harmony are restored
within the family and they are able to enjoy a loving relationship
with rules and boundaries firmly in place.
