CONFERENCE
A Conference is a meeting of people who "confer"
about a topic. It is the act of consulting together,
any coming together of two or more individuals in
an formal meeting for the purposes of giving or
exchanging ideas.
TYPES OF CONFERENCE
• Group conference
• Individual conference
• Staff conference
• Nursing care conference
GROUP CONFERENCE
It is a small group teaching method. In a group conference,
a group of students and their instructors meet for an
informal discussion of clinical problems.
PURPOSES OF GROUP CONFERENCE
• To set objectives and criteria for nursing care
• To plan methods for improving care
Individual conference
It is defined as conversation with purpose. It
can be used by clinical instructor to clarify, to
supplement instructions, to explain answers to
questions of individual students which do not
concern the entire class.
Contd.
Staff conference
These types of conference are held in
teaching institutions ,e.g. faculty meeting,
in hospitals.
Nursing care conference
It is widely used in basic nursing
education.
Ward rounds
A visit made by team of doctors , nurses,
physiotherapist, and other health team members to
hospital inpatients at their bedside to review and
follow up the progress in their health.

GROUP DISCUSSION
The discussion method is one in which the students
and the instructor exchange their ideas in order to
get a better understanding of a topic.

NURSING CARE PLAN
A Nursing care plan outlines the Nursing care to be
provided to an individual/family/community. It is a
set of actions the Nurse will implement to
resolve/support Nursing diagnosis identified by
Nursing assessment
CLINICAL SIMULATION
Simulation are “ activities that mimic
reality of clinical environment and are
designed to demonstrate procedure
,decision –making and critical thinking
through techniques such as role play and
use of device such as interactive video.
It is process for generating creative ideas and
solutions through intensive and freewheeling
group discussion. It is a group or individual
creativity technique by which efforts are made
to find a conclusion for a specific problem.

PROCESS RECORDING
It is an exact written report of the
conversation between nurse and the
patient during the therapeutic
interaction.
DEMONSTRATION
VERBAL EXPLANATION + LIVE DISPLAY USING
APPARATUS/MODELS= DEMONSTRATION
It is an action or process of showing the
existence or truth of something by giving
proof or evidence. Demonstration method
is a visual approach to examining
information, ideas and processes.

  • 9. CONFERENCE A Conference is a meeting of people who "confer" about a topic. It is the act of consulting together, any coming together of two or more individuals in an formal meeting for the purposes of giving or exchanging ideas.
