  2. plvision.eu LINK AGGREGATION GROUP (LAG) Link Aggregation Group - group of links that appear to a MAC Client as if they were a single link.
  3. plvision.eu Three links are aggregated in one group, traffic transfer is possible Three links are aggregated in one group, one link is down, traffic transfer is still possible One link used, traffic transfer is possible One link used, one link is down, traffic transfer is not possible anymore LAG ADVANTAGES LAG provides high reliability, redundancy and increase throughput. If a port fails, traffic continues on the remaining ports.
  4. plvision.eu DYNAMIC LAG - LINK AGGREGATION CONTROL PROTOCOL (LACP) Peculiarities:  Negotiates automatic bundling of links using LACPDUs  Option of balancing mode  Various balancing modes  Option of configuring hot standby ports
  5. plvision.eu LACP FUNCTIONS LACP performs the following functions in the system:  Maintains configuration information to control aggregation.  Exchanges configuration information with other peer devices.  Attaches or detaches ports from the LAG based on the exchanged configuration information.
  6. plvision.eu LACP MODES LACP can be configured in the following modes:  Active - In this mode, the ports send LACP packets at regular intervals to the partner ports.  Passive - In this mode, the ports do not send LACP packets until the partner port sends LACP packets.
