Nutshell
Educational Technology is
a field of study which is concerned
with the practices of using educational
methods and resources for the
ultimate goal of facilitating the
learning. It is not just about the
materials but also the designs and
environment engaged.
Educational Technology in a
Nutshell
Educational Technology 2 is Concerned
with “Integrating Technology into Teaching
and Learning.” This is focused on introducing,
reinforcing, supplementing and extending the
knowledge and skills to learners so that they
can become exemplary users of educational
technology. The course is primary at
enhancing teaching-and-learning through
technology integration.

the progressive countries in the
Asia Pacific region that have
formulated state policies and
strategies to infuse technology in
schools.

Malaysia, Singapore and Hong

As teachers adjust their teaching to
effectively match the new digital world of
information technology(ICT), they must
be clear on what basic knowledge, skills
and values need to be developed by
digital learners.

as well as the various services and
applications associated with them.

Computer as a Tutor
• The computer can be a tutor in
effect relieving the teacher of
many activities in his/her
personal role as classroom tutor.
• With the available computer
and CAI software, the teacher
must insure that students have
the needed knowledge and skills
for any computer activity.

time packaged as an educational

information is presented and
student activities are integrated in
a virtual learning environment

Internet
• The Internet, also simply called the Net
is the largest and far-flung network
system of all systems. The Internet is
not really a network but a loosely
organized collection of about 25,000
networks accessed by computers on the
planet.
• Everything is coordinated in the Internet
through a standardized protocol called
Transmission Control Protocol/Internet
Protocol (TCP/IP). To gain access to
the Internet, The computer must be
equipped with what is called a Server.

• The most attractive way to move
around the Internet is called
browsing.
• Educational software materials
have also developed both in
sophistication and appeal. But
the real possibility today is
connecting with the world outside
homes, classrooms and Internet
cafes. Today schools are gearing
up to take advantage of Internet
access.
Learning through
Educational Technology
As the book stated, ‘‘Today’s learner appear smarter..”
For we all know , we are now in a Digital Era, I learned that
we as a student and as a future teacher must be capable not
just only in the use of modern educational technology as a
medium that we use in teaching but also on how to properly
integrate it to enhance learning. Now a days we are exposed
to the computer to become skillful users. This was preparing
us to be competent individuals especially to be a competent
teachers in the future.
In studying Educational Technology 2, I definitely learned
a lot. We discussed more than ten (10) topics. We reviewed
what we learned in our educational technology 1 and have an
overview in educational technology 2. We also discussed
Edtech in Asia Pacific Region, developing basic digital skills,
evaluation of technology learning, higher thinking skills
through IT-Based projects, computers as ICT, as tutor and as
the teachers’ tool, cooperative learning with the computer,
hypermedia, internet and other more.
In this course subject , I learned that computer can be
used not just for entertainment but also as an effective tool in
learning and it can be destructive when we abuse and
misuse it. The use of computer especially the internet , social
media and other computer capabilities can also be useful and
are effective tools in learning . Incorporating technology into
my future classroom will engage my students more in learning
process and will enhance more their skills .It helps me make
things easier for me as a future educator and also my
students, and how to use technology to help students learn in
different ways.
I also learned here the strategies and approaches that
may help me in my future profession. We have here group
reporting. We are the one who will going to discussed the topic
included in the subject. By these, we are practiced to teach in
front of others. It enhanced our self confidence and we are now
able to know and use different technology tools/media that is
appropriate to the topic we are going to teach . I believe that as a
teacher you need to be open to new ideas in technology
This subject taught me as well as others how to be
responsible and effective in the future. EdTech help me to
choose and plan what are going to use that will suits to my
students and on how I will be a teacher and what will be my
students in the future.

  • 3. The Student Good Day! My name is Paula Angelica Labanda Costa , 18 Years old from Manggahan General Trias, Cavite. I’m a Third year student taking up Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Mathematics at Cavite State University Indang, Cavite.
  • 6. Educational Technology in a Nutshell Educational Technology is a field of study which is concerned with the practices of using educational methods and resources for the ultimate goal of facilitating the learning. It is not just about the materials but also the designs and environment engaged.
  • 7. Educational Technology in a Nutshell Educational Technology 2 is Concerned with “Integrating Technology into Teaching and Learning.” This is focused on introducing, reinforcing, supplementing and extending the knowledge and skills to learners so that they can become exemplary users of educational technology. The course is primary at enhancing teaching-and-learning through technology integration.

EdTech in Asia Pacific Region • Educational Technology in the Asia Pacific Region presented the progressive countries in the Asia Pacific region that have formulated state policies and strategies to infuse technology in schools. •New Zealand, Australia, Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong are known as progressive countries/cities.
  • 9. DEVELOPING BASIC DIGITAL SKILLS As teachers adjust their teaching to effectively match the new digital world of information technology(ICT), they must be clear on what basic knowledge, skills and values need to be developed by digital learners.
  • 10. Computers as Information and Communication Technology COMPUTER - an electronic machine that can store and work with large amounts of information. ICT - includes any communication device or application as well as the various services and applications associated with them.

Computer as a Tutor • The computer can be a tutor in effect relieving the teacher of many activities in his/her personal role as classroom tutor. • With the available computer and CAI software, the teacher must insure that students have the needed knowledge and skills for any computer activity.
  • 14. Traditional Classroom Student - Centered Classroom Usually arranged with neat columns and rows of student chairs, while the teacher stands in front of the classroom or sits behind his/her desk. Allow teacher to control classroom activities through lecture presentation and teacher-led discussions. The students have now become active not passive learners, who can interact with other learners, demonstrating independence and self-awareness in the learning process.
  • 15. Cooperative Learning Is learning by small groups of students who work together in a common learning task. It is often also called group learning. Social Skills Individual Accountability Interaction A common goal
  • 16. Microsoft Windows Also referred to as a program, is an operating environment between the user and the computer operating system. Instructional software Can be visited on the Internet or can be bought from software shops or dealers.

Hypermedia - Hypermedia is nothing but multimedia, but this time packaged as an educational computer software where information is presented and student activities are integrated in a virtual learning environment • tutorial software packages • knowledge webpages • simulation instructional games • learning project management and others.
  • 18. Internet • The Internet, also simply called the Net is the largest and far-flung network system of all systems. The Internet is not really a network but a loosely organized collection of about 25,000 networks accessed by computers on the planet. • Everything is coordinated in the Internet through a standardized protocol called Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP). To gain access to the Internet, The computer must be equipped with what is called a Server.
  • 19. Internet • The most attractive way to move around the Internet is called browsing. • Educational software materials have also developed both in sophistication and appeal. But the real possibility today is connecting with the world outside homes, classrooms and Internet cafes. Today schools are gearing up to take advantage of Internet access.
  • 21. As the book stated, ‘‘Today’s learner appear smarter..” For we all know , we are now in a Digital Era, I learned that we as a student and as a future teacher must be capable not just only in the use of modern educational technology as a medium that we use in teaching but also on how to properly integrate it to enhance learning. Now a days we are exposed to the computer to become skillful users. This was preparing us to be competent individuals especially to be a competent teachers in the future.
  • 22. In studying Educational Technology 2, I definitely learned a lot. We discussed more than ten (10) topics. We reviewed what we learned in our educational technology 1 and have an overview in educational technology 2. We also discussed Edtech in Asia Pacific Region, developing basic digital skills, evaluation of technology learning, higher thinking skills through IT-Based projects, computers as ICT, as tutor and as the teachers’ tool, cooperative learning with the computer, hypermedia, internet and other more.
  • 23. In this course subject , I learned that computer can be used not just for entertainment but also as an effective tool in learning and it can be destructive when we abuse and misuse it. The use of computer especially the internet , social media and other computer capabilities can also be useful and are effective tools in learning . Incorporating technology into my future classroom will engage my students more in learning process and will enhance more their skills .It helps me make things easier for me as a future educator and also my students, and how to use technology to help students learn in different ways.
  • 24. I also learned here the strategies and approaches that may help me in my future profession. We have here group reporting. We are the one who will going to discussed the topic included in the subject. By these, we are practiced to teach in front of others. It enhanced our self confidence and we are now able to know and use different technology tools/media that is appropriate to the topic we are going to teach . I believe that as a teacher you need to be open to new ideas in technology This subject taught me as well as others how to be responsible and effective in the future. EdTech help me to choose and plan what are going to use that will suits to my students and on how I will be a teacher and what will be my students in the future.
