3. Hi! I’m Francis Vince
E. Costelo. I’m 18 years
old taking up Bachelor
of Secondary Education
major in Mathematics.
I’m currently a third
year student of Cavite
State University –
Indang Campus.
The Student
4. Education is the focus of most of the people in
this generation specially teachers, because they want
to give what’s best for the learners. Since technology
enter the lives of the people it made a big change to
their lifestyle mostly in making convenience with all
the works and tasks, thus this so called technology
makes our lives easier and makes our works faster
and less hassle.
Educational
Technology in a Nutshell
5. Educational Technology refers to the study and
ethical practice of facilitating education and learning,
to improve the performance of students, through the
creation and use of management appropriate
technological processes and resources.
What is Educational Technology?

7. Dale’s Cone of Experience is a visual model that is
composed of eleven stages starting from the
concrete experiences at the bottom of the cone then
it becomes more and more abstract as it reach the
peak of the cone.
Cone of experience emphasized the things people
will generally remember (at the left) and the learning
outcomes (at the right) as seen on the previous
picture.
Dale’s Cone of Experience
8. • Behaviorism
- is the theoretical framework, developed in
the early 20th century through various animal
experiments. These various studies and
experiments were enacted to elucidate upon
human learning and the capability of the human
mind.
Theories of Educational Technology
9. • Cognitivism
- cognitive science has also changed how
educators view learning. Since the beginning of
the cognitive revolution (1960s and 1970s),
learning theory has undergone a facelift;
cognitive theories look beyond human behavior to
explain brain-based learning. Cognitivists, using
this philosophy of educational technology,
consider how human memory works to promote
learning.
Theories of Educational Technology
10. • Constructivism
- is a learning theory used in educational
technology and educational philosophy to explain
how and why learners construct their own
meaning from new information as they interact
with their own reality or others with different
perspective.
Theories of Educational Technology
11. It has been a long issue as on how to
integrate technology in the teaching-learning
process. The mere use of computer does not
mean that technology is already integrated in
the instruction. A need to provide learning on
how educational technology can be applied and
integrated in the teaching-learning process is
very crucial.
Technology Integration
12. To make technology a part of the teaching-
learning process, the user of such technological
devices should make them a source of
reinforcement so that the objectives of
educational objectives will be realized.
Teachers should avoid the use of computers
for other purposes such as for enjoyment like
games and other exploitive use of technology.
Students must be guided as to how to gather
information and full utilization of the computer
to aid them in performing assigned projects in
connection with their subjects.
Technology Integration
13. • Technology makes a the world a new place. By
the use of technology in learning the teaching-
learning process is simulated into anew level
which learning is more interesting and fun.
• Technology as tools to support knowledge
construction for representing learners’ ideas,
understandings and beliefs.
• For producing organized, multimedia knowledge
bases by learners.
Roles of Educational Technology in Learning
14. • Technology as information vehicles for exploring
knowledge to support learning-by-constructing.
• Technology as context to support learning-by-
doing.
• Technology as a social medium to support
learning by conversing.
• Technology as intellectual partner (Jonassen
1996) to support learning by reflecting.
Roles of Educational Technology in Learning
15. • Information Tool
• Communication Tool
• Constructive Tool
• Co-constructive Tool
• Situating Tool
Computer as Teacher’s Tool
16. Since technology was integrated in the teaching-
learning process, learning became more fun unlike the
way it was before when the teacher is standing in
front of the class discussing the lesson and most of
the students were out of focus, lesson’s so dead but
now there’s more interaction between the learners,
teacher and learners as well as technology and
learners.
Learning Through Edtech 2
17. Educational Technology plays a big role in the
learning of students nowadays specially the 21st
century learners I’m about to teach in the future.
I’ve learned in Edtech 2 the important things I should
consider in using technology in classroom instruction,
the disadvantages and limitations of the use of
technology in classroom. Integrating technology in the
classroom makes works easier it’s more of student
centered and not teacher dominated learning.
18. There are three levels of integration namely;
simple level in wherein technology is integrated but
doesn’t play a pivotal role in the learning. Middle level
integration wherein technology is used as
instructional material to provide learners the
information needed. Lastly the higher level
integration where technology is the central
instruction for learning and teachers act as the
facilitators.
19. There are three levels of integration namely;

integration where technology is the central

20. I’ve also learned the use of computer as a tool for
teachers, a teacher can employ the computer as an
information tool, a communication tool, a constructive
tool, as co-constructive tool and a situating tool.
These said use of computer helps teachers to provide
meaningful learning to their students. Educational
technology also helps promote distance learning, and
can provide us information in just one click on the
computer and with the help of IT learners will get
the information they need.
21. Technology plays a big role in whatever we do,
whether we cook, play, walk or even if we breathe
technology can help us. Technology in education
contributed a really big help for learners to achieve
meaningful learning and for teachers to lesson their
works and helped them provide learners the best they
can provide with the use of technology.
As a future educator, we must see to it that we
are going to use technology appropriately and follow
guidelines to achieve our goals.
The Student after Edtech
22. The contents of this portfolio are just some of the
important things we need to remember in Educational
Technology. There is actually nothing to worry about
for teachers who are still novices in technology
integration because learning how would really take
time. Technology integration into the instruction is
developmental and takes gradual road to mastery and
expertise. In time, a teacher can advance from basic
integration to more complicated integrations. Thus
this will make them more literate with the use of
technology.
23. It is indeed that technology helps teachers work
easier with convenience and considering the fact that
technology change very often this can’t replace a
teacher’s job as the facilitator of the learning.
Technology can provide information the students
need but it can never provide a meaningful learning
like how a teacher can do.
