Q7 – LOOK ABACK AT YOUR
PRELIMINARY TASK, WHAT DO YOU
FEEL YOU HAVE LEARNT IN THE
PROGRESSION FROM IT TO THE FULL
MAIN PRODUCT?
MY PRELIMINARY TASK
For my preliminary task, I didn’t
know much about what I was
doing compared to when I was
doing the main task. I know how
to use adobe premier pro better
and more effectively. This task
did not have that much
planning but we had to stick to
guidelines set out
THE MAIN TASK
The opening sequence needed to be
considerably longer than the
preliminary task and we had to make
sure we had to fill the time. We had
the freedom in the main task to add
what ever shots that we wanted to
instead of sticking to shots given to us
like the preliminary task. We needed
to use lights in this task as we were
outside and it was in the evening
unlike the preliminary task. Moreover,
it was more difficult to get actors for
our main task as non of our group
wanted or was aloud to be in it. This
task was slightly more harder
compared to the preliminary task as
we had to be more independent.
IN CONCLUSION
There are some similarities and differences between the two tasks. The preliminary task didn’t
need as much cut and good continuity cutting which makes the scene work seamlessly to not
break continuity. The opening sequence needed more and better transitions because of the
storyline which we chose to create. We used a fade to show the passing of time. The main
task ended up being more efficient and effective compared to the preliminary project as we
knew more about the technologies we were using and more about our course in general. I
have learn a few new things from the coursework in which I will take away with me to next
year. I really enjoyed making the opening sequence and only wish that we came up with a
solid idea way before when everyone else did because it heavily disrupted us as we kept on
chopping and changing our idea.
