1. Question 6
What have you learned about
technologies from the process of
constructing this product?
2. • Before taking media, I had no previous
Cameras experience of using professional
cameras. When creating my media
product I have learnt how to use a
camera to its full potential. Being able
to use a camera in the way I have learnt
has allowed me to gain invaluable
knowledge, and as a result of this, I
have been able to take high quality
images to go in my media product.
Being able to put the camera in focus
by twisting the lens and using the
screen to view bad images resulted in
me only having good images to choose
from.
3. • At the start of media, we were asked to rate
our Photoshop skills out of 10. I put 4 as I
Photoshop
had barley used the programme. We did a
prelim task which was to create a college
magazine contents page, and compared to
my finished music magazine piece, there’s a
huge difference. My College magazine is
basic and lacks a house style. It has
connotations of a magazine but not as many
as my music magazine does. Overall I’m
quite pleased with the result of my work on
Photoshop, the tools that a learnt about
include: blurring; the pen tool, which allows
you to crop images accurately; layers, and
how they affect the project that you’re
working on, and the background removal
tool which allows you to gain clearer images
to use.
4. Quark
• The skills that I learnt in quark include; learning
how to create a double page template to create
my double page spread, how to get the contrast
on the title and how to create a double page
spread. When creating my contents page, I
improved my basic Quark skills by using the box
and line tools. I inserted other boxes around boxes
to give it an effect of a boarder.
5. Prezi • Prezi is a completely new internet
software that was introduced to me
only a few weeks ago. Getting to grips
with the new programme was difficult
but the ‘prezis’ that I created were of
a high quality due to perseverance. I
created prezis for some of my
evaluation and prelim tasks.
6. • Blogger is also new to me. Previous to this
Blogger lesson I have never kept a blog and so
starting one now is different for me. The
blogger website is easy to navigate around
and easy to create and make blogs too. Al
my work is stored on the blog and this is
easily accessible and easy to edit my work
when needs be.
