8. RELATIONSHIPAMONG
TEST,MEASUREMENT AND EVALUATION
:From the meaning and definitions, it is obvious that a term test,
measurement and evaluation are interrelated. The test are specific
instrument for measurement .Administration of a test is a process
of measurement, without test, measurement is not possible.
:Measurement is a technique necessary for evaluation. It
represent status of a certain attributes or properties and is a terminal
process.
9. :Evaluation is a broader term more complex process
then test and measurement. Many times the evaluation is
express in qualitative terms. Evaluation determine the
extent to which objectives are made as is on going and
continuous process. In the evaluation while complaining
to the objective the conclusion should based up on round
judgment ,the quality may be improved.

11. DUTIES DURING TESTING
For testing the tester should arrived well in advance to
post norms and layout plan that all the equipment and
facilities to be use should be test properly and should
check that they are at their proper place. The
operation of testing may be described in following
parts.
1. Last minute check: When the testing period is at
hand, the instructor should arrive early and make a
last minute check of equipments, supplies and
facilities that are to be used.
2. Meeting fellow testers: Before start test to arrange
meeting for fellow testers, allocating and assigning
work and appointing on proper place.
12. 3. To assemble the subjects: To assemble the subject during
the test so that the test can be done easily and each subject
can see the demonstration and listen instruction
explanation properly.
4. Explanation: The directions to the instruction serve as a
guide in the demonstration and the direction to the
students should be read or given to the students in an
interesting and enthusiastic manner. Explanation with
demonstration is more effectively.
5. Demonstration: Techniques to be demonstrated should
be planned and learned by the demonstrator in advance. It
is a easy and quite time saving method.
13. 6. Warm-up and Practice: Many a time, listing of
psychomotor tests require a short warm-up period
before starting the test. The administration of pre-
planned adequate warm-up exercise keep not only to
safe guard any injury but also assures better
performance on the test items.
7. Administration: During this period all the planning
and preparations are brought to fruitions.
Administration should be planned so that all students
may be kept active most of the time.
successful administration often attracts
immediate attention towards certain matters like
replenishing chalk line, replacing a missing score card
relieving over crowding at a station etc.
14. 8. Motivation: The test should be presented in an
interesting manner so the students will be stimulated
and want to excel in test item.
The instructors should show interest in
a subjects performance encouraging him/her for
making best effort. Praising his/her good performance
and reminding about his/her potential excelling ability.
9. Safety: Testing is accompanied by excitement and
enthusiasm on the part of the most students safety
precaution may be emphasized during the orientation
period. A proper warm-up and practice is essential to
prevent pulled muscles.
15. DUTIES AFTER TESTING
After completing the test operation. The tester or researcher
required to interpret the used result for this the raw scores
which are collected are converted into standard scores and
proper statistical treatment is given to find the results are
compared and drawn if norms and standard are there. In
statistic those methods are used which are needed to
achieved the objective of the test.
1. Collection score card: All the score cards have to be
collected by the squad leader from each students of the
squad.
2. Converting raw scores: The raw scores are generally
meaningless and usually impossible to interpret result
until they have been converted into the standard scores.
Percentiles are use to convert the raw score into the
standard scores.
16. 3. Comparing test results with norms and
standards: Same time converted scores are more
useful when they are compared with additional
standards T-score is used.
4. Constructing norms and Standards: The test
administrator must analyses test results and prepare
their own norms of standards.
5. Interpreting results: the next step in the testing
program is the interpretation of results in terms of
norms according to either the product or the process.
Interpretation enables the students to know their
status progress, weakness or need.
17. 6. Using results and the follow-up: Effective
evaluation always includes measurement followed
by use. The follow-up implies the evaluation is a
continuous on going process.
