Having my dad gone made it harder for me as a child because I never really had much of a father figure in my life. This led me to look up to my

One of the hardest points in my life started in 2015. I had just turned fifteen years old and I felt like my world was crumbling because I had just
found out that my parents were getting divorced. Now, at first, it did not really hit me because my parents, ever since i was a little girl, were
always splitting up and then getting back together 3 months later, but it was different this time.(75) In order to understand the whole story, here is
some background on my mom and dad's relationship. My dad, Oscar, was an alcoholic for as long as I could remember. He would always come
home with two to three tall cans of beer and then he would drink some short cans right after and it never occurred to me that it was abnormal to drink
so much because I was little and did not know any better. I did not know then, but now I know that my parents would constantly fight over my dad's
drinking problem. He was always in denial thinking that he was okay ,but my mom would tell him different. This went on for years until my dad was
caught in a hit–and–run. He was buzzed and did not see that the motorcyclist had stopped in front of him and he hit the man and took off. My dad was

shifts so she could take us to school in the mornings and pick us up after school. She was supporting 3 kids on her own and paying all of the bills.

Incarcerated Pregnant Women A growing number of pregnant incarcerated women and their soon to be born children now have an innovative option,
often referred to as the Mom and Babies program, which puts precedence on the long term outcome of the pair. The positive result of this program
over the last 5 years has encouraged several other departments to develop a similar one. The main purpose of the establishment of such a program is an
attempt to strengthen family structure in hopes that this would be an effective way to reduce recidivism. Although quite new, the results have shown a
promising future for the continuation of this program. Prison nurseries started in 1902, in New York, but the next nursery would not be built until
much later, in 1994, in Nebraska. Since the 1990s the idea of prison nurseries has become more widely accepted and at least 7 new facilities have
opened. Over the more recent years, programs have been formed to build a network of support for moms and babies. The push behind this, perhaps,
had to do with the rise of the prison population of parents as stated by Herman (2001) "The number of children with incarcerated parents rose 60
percent in the 1990s and by 1999, affected one of every 50 children. The prison population grew at nearly that time pace 62 percent–during that

Home Mothers And Working Mothers
Participants:
The participants included two working mothers and two stay–at–home mothers within the ages of 20–35. All the participants I found were close friends
or acquaintances but the hardest part was to find stay at home mothers. The method used for my research was interview questions. I asked five
questions for each mother, two separate sets of questions for stay–at–home mothers and working mothers. The first participant was a thirty–two year
old, full–time working mother who is also currently enrolled at Sacramento State has three children. The second participant was a twenty–two year old,
who is a full–time mother working at a dental office in Stockton, CA. She is a long–time friend who has a three–year old boy. The third participant a
twenty–six year old, is a stay–at–home mother with two boys, ages three and four. My last participant was my sister's best friend, a stay–at–home
mother, but also a part–time student with two boys, a ten year old and a five year old. Three of the mothers that I interviewed were single with only one
that has a husband.
Findings:
Some of the major findings about stay–at–home mothers were that there weren't very many to interview. The majority of the people that I socialize
with are either part–time mothers or full–time working mothers. For my research I decided to choose two stay–at–home mothers that had no part–time

In the story "My Mother" Jamaica Kincaid shows the reader that the girl has an obsession with her mother. The mother has a power over the girl
throughout the book. The girl looks back onto when she was younger and misses her relationship that she had with her mother. The author shows this
through intensely lyrical images and showing the problematic intimacy between the girl and her mother.
The mother of the girl in the book was only mentioned a few times up until the story called My Mother. The story My Mother focused on the

the mother is very strong and that is all that the girl wants from her mother. The girl is more than obsessed with her mother she also relies on her
mother. The girl says "My mother and I were standing on the seabed side by side, my arms laced loosely around her waist, my head resting securely
on her shoulder, as if I needed the support." (Kincaid 55). This shows the reader that the girl wants to be really close to her mother and expects her
mother to support her throughout her life.
The girl isn't just obsessed with her mother she also doesn't want to grow up and leave her mother. The girl uses what seem life flashbacks to talk
about how she became independent from her mother. The girl knows that her mother won't always be there to support her, but she doesn't want to

My Mother And Mother
My mother was my primary caregiver throughout all of my childhood. While my father was in the picture for a majority of my childhood, he was
also a severe alcoholic which greatly impacted my upbringing. My rules, obligations, and expectations were not always set in stone and did often
depend on the time, situation, and/or mood of my parents. I think it is normal for parents to differ slightly in their parenting styles occasionally. As a
young kid I remember my sister and I being very aware that the mood my mother was in greatly contributed to the outcome of a question or event. I

Thus, their purpose was to be unlike their moms. In this essay I will specify the roles and the discontinuity of the mothers and their children's
relationship as well as their love and intimate behaviors towards their children which most of the mothers in the novel lacked.
In order to illustrate my first point, in this novel we can face many bad moms who they did not care about their children and left them at the
