Bauer Media Group is a large European-based media company,
headquartered in Hamburg, Germany that manages a portfolio of
more than 600 magazines, over 400 digital products and 50 radio and
TV stations around the world. The portfolio extends to include print
shops, postal, distribution and marketing services. Bauer Media Group
has a workforce of approximately 11,000 employees in 17 countries.
3. What is the company history?
Bauer Verlagsgruppe has been managed by five generations of the
Bauer family. Originally a small printing house in Germany, Bauer
Media Group entered the UK with the launch of Bella magazine in
1987. Under the name of H Bauer Publishing they became Britain's
third largest publisher. Bauer further expanded in the UK with the
purchase of Emap Consumer Media and Emap Radio in 2008.
The group acquired Australian magazine publisher, ACP Magazines
from private equity firm, CVC in 2012. This increased the company’s
turnover to more than €2 billion.
In November 2010 Heinz Heinrich's daughter Yvonne assumed the
management of the Bauer Media Group after joining the family
business in 2005.]
4. What publications do they manage?
Bauer manages a wide range of publications from ZOO to Mother&Baby.

5. Zoo is one of the publications that Bauer manages. It
covers stories about Sport, Comedy while including cover
photos of barely dressed girl. It’s a magazine aimed at
men. Its supposed to appeal to men's urge to keep up
with sports while also providing eye catching images and
providing funny stories. ZOO is the only publication of its
kind with its biggest rival NUTS closing down in April
2014. It was launched on the 29th of January 2004 and is
edited by Damien McSorley.
6. For almost 40 years, Match! has been one of the UK’s leading youth sports
publications, delivering football’s biggest stars and breaking news to 7-
14-year-old boys on a weekly basis. The magazine includes interviews, a
skills school, quizzes and a weekly round-up of results, tables and player
ratings from the four main English divisions and the Scottish Premier
League in MatchFacts. It mostly covers teams and players in the English
Premier League, but also has a limited coverage of La Liga, Serie A and
international football. Founded on the 6th of September 1979 and is
edited by James Bandy. It has a variety of rival magazines like Match Of
The Day however Match! Still remains the leading football magazine in
England.
