Blaming Romeo And Juliet
Blaming Romeo and Juliet According to dictionary.com, the definition of star crossed lovers is, "Lovers whose relationship is doomed to fail are said
to be "star–crossed" (frustrated by the stars), because those who believe in astrology claim that the stars control human destiny." In Shakespeare's play
Romeo and Juliet, the main characters are called "star–crossed lovers." They are teenagers who fall in love but cannot be together because their
families are rivals. They make many extreme and rash decisions, and in the end, they take their own lives. Although this ending sounds very doomed
and blame must be assigned, the stars are not the ones who caused this tragedy. Romeo and Juliet are to blame for their impulsive behavior because of

Some people might argue that their brains were not fully developed, so they can't fully reason through situations, however teens don't lose all of their
common sense. Furthermore, their critical thinking skills grow. In Ronald Dahl, M.D.'s article Beyond Raging Hormones he explains, "(adolescents)
show developmental increases in a wide range of mental and physical abilities, including reaction time, reasoning skills, problem solving, immune
function, and capacity to cope with many kinds of stresses and challenges." Again, some people might say that their in–love brains can be blamed, but
being in love is not always bad. Diane Ackerman explains in her article The Brain on Love, "If you're in a healthy relationship, holding your
partner's hand is enough to subdue your blood pressure, ease your response to stress, improve your health and soften physical pain." Romeo and
Juliet's love should have helped them to ease their stress which would help them make better choices, but they still acted illogically. Being an
adolescent and being in love can help people to be more logical, yet Romeo and Juliet still acted childish. Finally, Romeo and Juliet knew what was
going to happen before they drank poison or stabbed themselves. They knew that they were going to die. It is impossible to blame someone else for
their deaths because each chose to the end their life and knew that they were going to

Romeo And Juliet Analysis
In 'Romeo and Juliet' Shakespeare plays with the audience's view of Romeo by initially presenting him as in love with Rosaline rather than Juliet. His
hyperbolic and dramatic language depicts him as a young lover who is in love with the idea of love. This means that his change into a tragic and
'star–crossed' lover is much more dramatic and unexpected. Shakespeare portrays Romeo as almost two different characters. At times, his romantic side
is conveyed through his loving actions towards Juliet but other times he seems impetuous and impulsive by the many foolish decisions he makes, such
as killing himself just to be with Juliet. Throughout the play, the presentation of Romeo changes to a great extent and that is what I will be talking
about in this essay.
At the start of the play, Romeo is presented as a hopeless romantic, who loves someone who can never really love him back. The love that he feels
towards Rosaline seems to be based on her looks, beauty and materialistic desires. This shows how Romeo's love for Rosaline is false and unreal.
He is depicted as being very dramatic and over the top; this contrasts greatly with the more genuine love of Romeo and Juliet. Romeo illustrates his
idea of love as a battlefield using military terms to describe the ways in which he has tried (and failed) to win over Rosaline: "She will not stay the
siege of loving terms/Nor bide th' encounter of assailing eyes." Shakespeare repeatedly describes how similar battles of love and battles

Romeo And Juliet Infatuation
The Tragedy of Romeo & Juliet, by William Shakespeare, is one of the most well known and influential pieces in English literature; more importantly,
most people recognize it as a story of true love, or star–crossed lovers. This play tells the story of Romeo and Juliet, who are from two feuding families.
They fall in love with each other, despite being from rivaling families, and face numerous obstacles because of the feud. After a series of tragic events
and miscommunication, Romeo and Juliet end up taking their lives for their "true love". However, Romeo and Juliet's decisions do not seem to be out
of true love as they claim, but rather infatuation. In The Tragedy of Romeo & Juliet, William Shakespeare teaches readers that infatuation can... Show

This lesson is conveyed through Romeo and Juliet's belief that they are in love with each other, although it is evident that they are merely infatuated:
Romeo is easily swayed by a person's looks, while Juliet is eager to break free from the confinements of her household by using Romeo. Although it is
suggested that Romeo and Juliet don't feel "true love" in the play, its reputation among the general public suggests otherwise. They are frequently
mentioned as a classic example of star–crossed lovers, who fell in love at first sight. Shakespeare's lesson is significant not only to people in love but
can also suggest that the difference between other feelings or morals can be confusing when emotions come into

The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet
Anguish is conceived in love and death. William Shakespeare creates turmoil through his language in Romeo and Juliet. His tragedy shows how hate
and love coincide with one another. Throughout the play, Romeo and Juliet's passion for each other keeps them together, but eventually kills them
both. Shakespeare creates the conflict through his language. His use of similes, metaphors, and verbal irony set the mood for his play. The way
these components flow together create the atmosphere that made this misfortune legendary. In Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare uses similes often. For
example, he uses a simile to show Lord Montague's worry for Romeo. Montague goes on to say that Romeo is "So far from sounding and discovery/As
is the bud bit with an envious worm/ Ere he can spread his sweet leaves to the air" (I.i.158–160). The simile in this scene is used to express how
Romeo guards his emotions tightly, just as the bud of a flower holds itself tightly until it is comfortable enough to spread its leaves to the air.
Furthermore, a simile is found when Romeo is describing love before the Capulet's party. Due to his heartache from Rosaline, Romeo says, "Is love a
tender thing? It is too rough, Too rude, too boisterous, and it pricks like a thorn" (I.iv.25–26). Romeo is comparing love to a thorn because it is painful.
Love teases you and can hurt your heart, just as the thorn of a rose hurts if you touch it. Lastly, when Romeo is sneaking around the Capulets' party and

Themes In Romeo And Juliet
But written over four hundred years ago, do the concepts, messages, layout and more in Romeo and Juliet still remain relevant to audiences around
the world today? Themes in Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, and with its ardent and realistic treatment of universal themes such as love and
fate, the story has become timeless. Teenagers right up to the elderly can empathise with or find these themes interesting. This story can be interpreted
in multiple ways, and still understood and relate to people everywhere, regardless of their culture, background or differing lives. Romeo and Juliet is a
tale of two "star–crossed" lovers, whom fortune has not smiled upon. Love is a predominant theme conveyed within Romeo and Juliet. Physical
attraction is implied when Friar Lawrence states, "Young men's love lies not in their hearts, but in their eyes" indicating that Romeo seems to love
base on physical appearance. He switches from loving Rosaline to loving Juliet, almost overnight. Friar Lawrence believes that it is not true love, but
lust. Romeo resembles an ordinary young teen as he bases his love on appearance, which individuals, even adults still do in today's world. As a result,
Romeo and Juliet effectively impact modern audiences as they can relate and empathize with Romeo. Also, their stages or steps of love (i.e. marriage)
was very quick paced. Even Juliet admitted, at the balcony scene, that their love is "too rash, too unadvised; too sudden, too like lightning.." The

Choices In Romeo And Juliet
A world free of control is a world full of freedom. The characters in Romeo and Juliet, and Pyramus and Thisbe display that their choices or destiny led
to their untimely deaths. Whether it was the characters' choices or destiny remains a question that we cannot truly answer. The characters in Romeo
and Juliet, by William Shakespeare, and Pyramus and Thisbe, by Ovid, show that personal choices impact them on a greater scale than destiny, because
of their impulsive nature. The characters in, "Romeo and Juliet," can be characterized by their stubborn and impulsive nature. Romeo exhibits his
impulsive nature when he fights Tybalt. "Away to heaven, respective leniently And fire
–eyed fury be my conduct now Now, Tybalt, take the "villain"
back again" (3,1,85–87). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Romeo knew what was the punishment for killing a fellow citizen. Nevertheless, he took a risk by killing Tybalt, to avenge Mercutio's death. Romeo
Another example of characters displaying their impulsive behavior is when Romeo decides to become infatuated with Juliet. Romeo fell in love with
Juliet because of her beauty. Not her character or family. "...my heart love till now? Forswear, its sight, I ne'er saw true beauty till tonight"(1,5,59–60).
Romeo believes that persona is not needed in love. If he had learned about Juliet's character and background, he would most likely think about his
decision to love Juliet. The characters of Romeo and Juliet's decisions were not thought through which led them to their untimely

used guns, but still called them swords. The (1996)Romeo and Juliet is a play that was written by Shakespeare, in the 1500's. It is a very ey had

The play starts out with a narrator. As the characters come out you notice they are all dressed fancy, and the montagues are a different race then
the capulets ( white and black). Romeo pulls up on a motorcycle, to talk to Mercutio. They appear to be talking in the forest. They used the dialect
that was used in the original play, but dressed modern. The motorcycle is the only motor vehicle in the play. Lady capulet is depicted as a woman
with a temper and that doesn't take any crap, in the others she is a pricy fancy woman. Lord capulet is depicted as a caring father whereas in the
other two he seems more abusive, to both lady capulet and Juliet. It seems to have more scenes, where it shows Romeo and Juliet just talking on
her balcony because she doesn't really have a room in the play. The only seen where she has a room is when she drinks that potion, and they think
she is dead but it just shows her bed. When Romeo slays Tybalt with ease, it show Juliet talking about it to the nurse, and the nurse comforting her.
Tybalt has no trouble killing Mercutio in the play, while Romeo has no trouble killing Tybalt. It shows Romeo purchasing the poison, but its is just an
empty bottle in both films they contained liquid. The man Romeo purchased the poison from was reluctant, to sell it to him in the play. He said it
didn't feel right and that he could also get in trouble for it. When Romeo drinks the poison he dies before Juliet wakes up. She kills herself shortly after

Romeo And Juliet : The Tragedy Of Romeo And Juliet
Have you ever seen a murder mystery movie before? If so, you would recall that the detective tries to look for clues that leads to the suspected
murderer. In the play, Romeo and Juliet, the same format applies, however, the murdering was done by the victims, Romeo and Juliet. With the
tragic play coming to an end, we, the readers, are left wondering, "Who is to blame for Romeo and Juliet's death?" While most characters may have
a clear correlation to their suicide, the real murderer was in the stars, or in other words, fate murdered Romeo and Juliet. If fate had not have
Romeo and Juliet's death already foretold, provide hardships for the two, and mess up the Friars scheme to save Romeo and Juliet's marriage, the
play would not have been considered a tragedy. Firstly, fate's plan to kill Romeo and Juliet was introduced at the very beginning of the play. In the
Prologue of Act 1, it states, " From forth the fatal loins of these two foes (Capulets and Montagues) a pair of star–crossed lovers take their life;..." (Act
1, prologue, lines 5–6). This quote states that both Romeo and Juliet are destined to die as William Shakespeare, the author of the play, tells the
audience at the beginning. This shows that all in all, Romeo and Juliet were to die sooner or later enough as the prophecy was "written in the stars."
The plan would come to prosper as at the end as Romeo and Juliet both had their spirits just above the mortal's heads. Secondly, in order to give a

Themes In Romeo And Juliet
LIGHTNESS/DARKNESS AND THE SUN/THE MOON
"Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth."–Buddha.
The tragic story of the two star–crossed lovers, tells a tale with multiple different themes, but the most vital one that plays throughout the whole play, is
the sun and moon and how Romeo and Juliet are associated and get affected by it. As the sun rises, the bright lights cast its shines onto good and
peaceful times, which is why Juliet is depicted by the sun (As she is perceived as peaceful, obedient, and righteous). Although, the brightness of the
day does not last long until nightfall happens and creates terror and issues for the days to comes. Where Romeo and Juliet, have their end set at the
start. Subsequently, when the moon is present in the sky and the time states it is the night, it is the only time where Romeo and Juliet can be together
without the distraction of the outside world. Consequently, the decisions they make at night, are not bright and causes eternal darkness for the two
lovers. Furthermore, the moon alike Romeo, as he surrounds himself in darkness and Romeo initiates contacts with Juliet every night causing bad
things to happen later on. To expand, he also gets dreams which are very close to the truth and foreshadows the ending of the story. To add on, as
Juliet is the sun, he can never be with her as he is the opposite; the moon, which is proven by the calamitous ending. To conclude, the lightness of the
day shows the brightness

Love also cannot be affected by other people. Romeo thinks he knows what love is with Rosaline, but when it comes to Juliet, all other people are
inexistent. Love should be powerful enough to drive someone completely crazy about the other, in a good way. Right when Romeo meets Juliet he
says, "For I ne'er saw true beauty till this night" (1.5.60). From this point forward, Romeo's love is dedicated to Juliet. No one can stand in the way.
Next, Shakespeare deceits the reader by bringing in Paris for Juliet to marry. However, Juliet speaks her mind and says, "O, bid me leap, rather than
marry Paris, From off the battlements of any tower, Or walk in thievish ways, or bid me lurk Where serpents are" (4.1.78–81). Paris seems like a good
guy, but he really shouldn't interfere with Romeo and Juliet. In fact, this act of marrying sooner brings more conflict for the star–crossed lovers to
commit suicide sooner. Still, Romeo and Juliet did that act out of love and didn't listen to anyone's advice. Lastly, all family members of the
Capulets and Montagues are not a problem for Romeo and Juliet's love. Neighbors are supposed to be comforting and welcoming, but as for Romeo
and Juliet's families, they want the other family dead. Juliet says, "O Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore are thou Romeo? Deny thy father and refuse thy
name; Or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love, And I'll no longer be a Capulet" (2.2.36–39). Just by chance, Romeo and Juliet have to be enemies.

HATRED AND VIOLENCE BREED ONLY TRAGGEDY Romeo and Juliet is a tragic play written by William Shakespeare. "Hatred and violence
breed only tragedy", is a major theme in this play. The Montague and Capulet are two rival families. They were involved in a family feud that goes
back years before anyone can remember. However, the grudge still continues, due to the fact that both families are not ready to forgive and forget the
past. The families' ongoing quarrels and feud, lead to the deaths of several characters including the star–crossed lovers, Romeo and Juliet. The
characters who died first in Romeo and Juliet are Mercutio and Tybalt. They were associated in each other's deaths. Tybalt, hot–tempered cousin of

of doing all that they could but finally ending up dead in Juliet's tomb. William Shakespeare did not write Romeo and Juliet to tell a romance tale, but
to emphasize the theme of destruction that is brought by violence and hatred. He just decided to get this point through with two young characters in deep

Essay For Romeo And Juliet
Romeo and Juliet Final Essay The tragedy Romeo and Juliet, written by William Shakespeare, is the story of a young man and woman with a fatal
love. The two were from feuding households, but when Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet met, it was love at first sight. They desperately
wanted to be together. The day after they met, Romeo and Juliet were secretly married. However, this would not be their happy ending. In a turn of
events Romeo is then banished from Verona after he kills a kinsmen of the Capulet house. Juliet is then arranged to be married to the County Paris
in only a few days. Juliet fakes her own death to prevent the wedding with the help of Friar Laurence. But when Romeo hears about Juliet's "death"
he kills himself, not wanting to live a life without his wife. When Juliet sees what her husband has done she does the same. There were many ways
the death of the two lovers could have been prevented. In the end, many of the characters feel at least somewhat responsible for the death of their
friends and children. Yet the person who should be held most accountable for this tragedy is Friar Laurence due to his poorly executed plans and his
involvement in both of the lovers lives. Only hours after the death of Juliet's cousin Tybalt, Romeo is sentenced to exile and her father arranges for
her to be married to County Paris. Juliet, not wanting to be married to someone other than Romeo, seeks Friar Laurence for help. The Friar then

Romeo And Juliet In William Shakespeare's Romeo And Juliet
Lifelong feuds, poison, fights, death, and who is to blame, well let's find out! He was impulsive and didn't think before he made a decision. He
also didn't know what love was, but he thought he did. Lastly, he went places he knew he shouldn't have been at. Therefore, Romeo, in William
Shakespeare's world renewed plays' "Romeo and Juliet," is to blame for most of the deaths and fighting. First of all, Romeo thought he fell in love
with a girl named Rosaline .Then he started crying because she didn't like him, and his friends wanted to cheer him up so they suggested to go to the
Capulet party. It states that Benvolio says," At this ancient feast of Capulet's sups the fair Rosaline whom thou so loves; with all the admired beauties
of Verona. Go thither, and with unattainted eye compare her with some that I shall show, and I will make thee think thy swan a crow"(i 84

then a real one making her think she was in love too. Romeo says,"Then move not while my prayer's effect I take. Thus from my lips, be thine my sin
is purged." [ kisses her.](i 105–106). Juliet then says," My only love, sprung from my only hate! Too early seen unknown, and known too late!

Romeo And Juliet Consequences
In the play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, the characters show how pure intentions can lead to deadly outcomes. When misapplied, the
virtuous actions of Romeo, Balthasar, and Friar Lawrence, turn to vice. Misapplied virtues turn to vice when Romeo interferes in Mercutio and
Tybalt's duel, when Balthasar delivers the tragic news of Juliet's death to Romeo, and when Friar Lawrence agrees to marry Romeo and Juliet. By
intervening in Mercutio and Tybalt's fight, Romeo's helpful intention leads to deadly consequences for Mercutio, Tybalt, and himself. When Tybalt

Romeo And Juliet Weaknesses
"When love beckons to you, follow him, though his ways are hard and steep. And when his wings enfold, you yield to him, though the sword
hidden among his pinions may wound you." (Kahlil Gibran,1) Shakespeare tries to show that the love between two people can lead them through
even the scariest of situations. In Shakespeare's iconic Romeo and Juliet, the love Romeo and Juliet have drives them to face their fears.
Shakespeare was born in April 23, 1564. He grew up to become an English poet, actor, and playwright. He was regarded as the greatest writer in the
English language. A testament of how well he wrote was his story of Romeo and Juliet. This is a tale of two star–crossed lovers that end their families
feud with their deaths. In the story the love the two have for each other seems to be just, but that isn't so. While it is good to love passionately,
Romeo and Juliet not only loved passionately but also desperately. The fears of their parents, life in feuding families, and the ridicule that they would
get because of what family they've come from were totally cat aside due to the influence their love had on them. Even though love can be an amazing
thing, it can sometimes blind one from the much–needed truth. The book Romeo and Juliet is based on the forcefulness of love, but what it fails to
realize is that Romeo's and Juliet's love wasn't forceful but blind. Now they weren't actually blind, but they soon became morally blind in order to stay
together. This doesn't

Romeo and Juliet go through a lot since meeting each other. They are considered one of literature's most exciting couples because they do
whatever they can to be with each other. They also share a love that is one of the finest in all of history. Romeo and Juliet are truly in love with
each other because they value their time together, they have constant thoughts about each other, and they are willing to sacrifice what either of them
has to be together. First of all, Romeo and Juliet truly value their time that they have together. This is shown on page 404, line 33, where
Shakespeare states," O Romeo. Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo?" and on page 405 , line 66, where Shakespeare also states, "With love's light
wings did I o'perch these walls; For stony limits cannot hold love out, And for what love can do that dares love attempt." This shows that both,

Shakespeare wrote,"Go get thee hence, for I will not away. What's here? A cup closed in my truelove's hand? . . . This is thy sheath; there rust, and

The tragedy of Romeo and Juliet
Once upon a time, there were two different families that didn't like each other called the Capulets and the Montagues. A girl on the capulet side named
Juliet and a boy named Romeo from the montague family met and they fell in love. Throughout the book of William Shakespeare, the tragedy of
Romeo and Juliet, there have been many occasions where Romeo and juliet have shown being in love. Some things that show Romeo and Juliet are in
love, is they both are willing to die for eachother, they are in love at first sight, and they are very excited to get married right away. This is why
Romeo and Juliet are in love.
Romeo and Juliet are in love with each other because they would die for each other. When Romeo finds out he is banished in act 3, he says, There is
no world without Verona walls but purgatory, torture and hell itself. Hence–banished is banish'd from the world, and worlds exile is death: then
banished, is death mis–'term'd: calling death banishment, Thou cutt'st my head off with a golden axe. And smilest upon the stroke that murders

Romeo And Juliet Comparison
William Shakespeare 's "Romeo and Juliet" have been remade countless of times, and each time in different ways. Most people are familiar with the
tragedy of lovers known as Romeo and Juliet. Two interpretations of this story are the 2013 film by Carlo Carlei and the 2011 film by Kelly Asbury.
The two movies have the same story line but are very different from each other. In the 2013 film known as Romeo and Juliet, the characters are the
traditional version of the sonnet written from Shakespeare. Whereas the 2011 version, Gnomeo and Juliet, is a spin off Walt Disney version of the
sonnet. In the two films they both have similar story lines, but with the main character, Romeo/Gnomeo, the language, romance, and ending is

In the balcony scene in Gnomeo, Juliet does most of the talking. Gnomeo doesn 't have a lot of dialogue, whereas Juliet is the only one having a

a blue hat? Why couldn 't it be red like my father, or... or green like a leprechaun? Or purple like, um... like, uh... like some weird guy? I mean, what
's in a gnome? Because you 're blue, my father sees red, and because I 'm red, I 'm feeling blue. Oh. At any rate, that shouldn 't be the thing to keep
us apart, should it?" In this script, it is much easier to understand than the other film. The language still rhymes like the 2013 film, but still hard to
understand. Unlike the language of Romeo and Juliet, the romance between the two is easy to follow along. Romance is a big part of "Romeo
and Juliet". In the 2013 film of Romeo and Juliet, Romeo is at first "in love" with Rosaline, and comes to the party of the Capulets to see her. He
talks about how he likes her very much at the beginning of the film. It is not until then he spots Juliet. It's love at first sight for the two. They learn
to like each other exceptionally fast. Juliet takes Romeo to the side, where no one else is and they exchange kisses. Within the next day they speak of
marriage of the two. They barely know each other and think they're in love. Romeo and Juliet find a way to get married even. Romeo goes after her

Sacrifice In Romeo And Juliet
Love is not only an affection and feeling one has within him or herself, but also something that requires one to go out of their comfort zone, and
make decisions one might not like. A person with great knowledge of love is William Shakespeare, a poet and playwright. Most of his 37 plays and
154 sonnets are about this complex emotion––one of his most famous play about love is Romeo and Juliet. This tragedy, is about two "star–crossed
lovers," so desperate for wanting to be together, ultimately take their lives. Shakespeare's plays always try to convey a message like how love can
make people do things that they most desire and do so by making sacrifices for each other. This is a lesson very valuable not only in the Victorian Era,
but also in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Demise Of Romeo And Juliet
The demise of Romeo and Juliet began when fate brought the two love struck children together. At the beginning of the play, William Shakespeare
writes a line showing the readers and audiences how Romeo and Juliet's demise was by fate. In the prologue, while giving a background about the
play he states, "From forth the fatal loins of these two foes/ A pair of star–crossed lovers take their life" (Shakespeare Prologue.5–6). Shakespeare is
saying that Romeo and Juliet are born in two separate families, that have a long lasting and violent feud. Out of all the people in Verona the two
fall in love with each other. Another instance of the play that shows us that fate plays a role in the demise of Romeo and Juliet is when Peter asks
Romeo to read the guest list aloud to him. Since Peter is illiterate he asks Romeo to read all of the people on the guest list. Romeo reads, "Stay,
fellow. I can read. / Signor Martino and his wife and daughters.../ Signor Valentine/ Mine Uncle Capulet, his wife and daughters, / My fair niece
Rosaline and Livia, / Signor Valentio and his cousin Tybalt, / Lucio and the lively Helena" (I.ii.68
–76). Out of all the people in Verona Peter walks up
to Romeo and asks to read the list. Not many people were invited to the party, but Romeo's first love was. It was fate that led Romeo to attend
Capulet's party; and it was that let Juliet and Romeo to meet at the party. Romeo came to the party to see Rosaline, but he quickly forgets her because

Romeo And Juliet Impulsive
The exquisite tale of Romeo and Juliet has come through the last 4 centuries teaching people to not force love and not to be too impulsive. The flaws
that were strung throughout the tale with the repetition of Romeo and Juliet's actions ultimately resulted in their deaths. Romeo and Juliet were
impulsive, Romeo's strong love for Juliet, and Romeo and Juliet were more provoked with their hearts than their heads that led to their deaths caused
by these fatal flaws. Romeo and Juliet were too impulsive with their decisions. After the ball when Romeo was secretly listening to Juliet announcing

Control Of Romeo And Juliet
William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet focus on the two young lovers, Romeo and Juliet, who fall in love and die within a span of three days.
Romeo and Juliet illustrate how the love brings them together to over power the control of their relationship. The moment that Romeo and Juliet
declare their love for one another, they try to keep their love a secret since they are the children of the feuding families, the Montagues and the
Capulets. Initially their families would be outraged against their relationship that Romeo and Juliet propose to hide the truth of their love. Once
Romeo and Juliet reveal to the Nurse and Friar Lawrence their plans to marry, their relationship is nothing but a risk of problems. Romeo is unafraid
to show his love that he teases Tybalt teasing him about falling in love with Juliet, although not explicitly. However, the deaths of Mercutio and Tybalt,
occur when Romeo and Juliet take actions to protect themselves, but they are not however, protected. Juliet protects her relationship by committing a
false death only for Romeo to believe it as true. As a result, the act to protect Romeo and Juliet's relationship a secret are examples of the failed actions
both Romeo and Juliet try to prevent; however, it is not 'fate' that control their lives and deaths. When Romeo and Juliet first meet, they are unaware
they are the children of the feuding families, the Montagues and the Capulets; they build a relationship unaware of any consequences that rises.

eye. The play is about two young adults that are part of two families who have a rivalry. Romeo and Juliet meet at a party and instantly believe they
are in love. Their love is forbidden, but they claim it is too strong to be broken. The next day a secret wedding takes place Shortly after the

to be with Juliet because he is unaware that Juliet is not dead. Juliet wakes up too late, and has no other choice but to kill herself to be with Romeo.
Romeo and Juliet's love happened too fast, love that happens too quickly leads to a lack of understanding the other person and someone
second–guessing their feelings. Juliet did not completely understand how she felt about Romeo. According to Anne Bradstreet love is worth "more
than whole mines of gold" (5). Bradstreet is a poet that speaks of how deeply she loves her husband. In her eyes, love is the most important thing in
the world. If this is so, then someone should know if they are in love. Juliet was unsure how she felt about Romeo. Juliet believed that their love was
"too rash, too unadvised, to sudden" (Shakespeare 2.2.118). Romeo responded by telling her that he was unsatisfied. Juliet went on to say that she did

A constant theme of infatuation progressively is displayed throughout Romeo and Juliet, starting with an innocent desire for true love, and ending in
death. Romeo and Juliet are the main characters that display the obsession through dialogue. The first sign of infatuation began with Romeo. He
claimed, "love, whose view is muffled still, should without eyes, see pathways to his will" (Shakespeare 20). Romeo is obsessed with the idea of
love, and is convinced that love controls you. He ends up getting confused and makes statements about how love is "heavy and light", "bright and
dark", "hot and cold," (Shakespeare 20). These oxymoronic assertions show that Romeo is infatuated with the idea of love, even though he hasn't even

Although it could be denied that he genuinely cares for her throughout the play, this soliloquy allows the audience to realize that he truly does
care. He spreads flowers along Juliet's grave and says, "Sweet flower, with flowers thy bridal bed I strew!" (Shakespeare 260). Considering that he
is alone and performing this soliloquy, the audience can see that Paris had veritable affection for Juliet. Again in act 5, Romeo provides a soliloquy
that enables him to express his innermost feelings towards Juliet. Romeo finds Juliet who is presumably dead, and says, "O my love, my wife!
Death, that hath sucked the honey of thy breath, Hath had no power to yet upon they beauty" (Shakespeare 268). Although Romeo is with Juliet, it is
still considered a soliloquy because she is 'dead'. This speech lets the audience know Romeo's deepest feelings before he kills himself, and sets a
closure to his part of the plot.
Romeo, Juliet, and the Friar constantly make rash and hasty decisions that lead to the tragic ending of the play. One of the first foolish decisions that
was made was by all 3 characters – Romeo, Juliet, and the friar – when Romeo and Juliet decided to get married. Romeo discusses how he "imagined
happiness" unfolding once they wed. Juliet agrees, as well as the friar. The friar, who should be the wisest, approves and says, "...come, come with me,

Rewards In Romeo And Juliet
"The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet," written by William Shakespeare, reveals how hormones can cause teenagers to choose rewards over risks. This
play is a tragic love story of two young star–crossed lovers who are forbidden to be together. Their banned love led to to their deaths. Modern theories
on the adolescent brain prove how changes in the brain in this time period of one's life can affect their behavior to certain situations. When hormones
are left uncontrolled, teens can be attracted to temptations that can lead to dangerous outcomes. Hormones can lead teens to choose rewards over risks
without them even considering the consequences. Juliet tells Romeo that if any of her family finds him, they may kill him and he says, "My life... Show

She responded by uttering, "Things that...have made me tremble/ And I will do...without fear or doubt/ To live an unstain'd wife to my sweet love."
Here, Juliet decided to completely throw risk out of the window to be with Romeo forever. Her hormones kicked into gear and practically dominated
this decision. The article "Teenage Brains," by David Dobbs, provides some reasoning to this behavior. Dobbs writes that "between our 12th and 25th
years...the brain undergoes extensive remodelling...[and] stress, fatigue, or challenges can cause a misfire." Juliet is 13 years old and is dealing with
the stressful situation of a long–distance relationship. She immediately jumps to the idea of suicide but is then offered this new choice and takes it.
Undoubtedly, Juliet's adolescent hormones are the cause for these not–well–thought–out decisions. Hormones sure are a mischievous system in a teen's
brain when it comes to decision making. Without them, Romeo and Juliet may have stayed alive and wouldn't be so heartbroken over losing each
other. They might not have ever fell in love if it was not for their hormones. This would have prevented many issues. But, because teens do have
hormones, it is very important to teach them responsible

Comparing Romeo And Juliet
I have read the text version of Romeo and Juliet when I was a secondary student. In order to comprehend the story deeply, I have watched Romeo &
Juliet (1968 film) recently. This film won many award and was very successful. Romeo and Juliet was popular, especially among teenagers since it is a
romance film (Romeo and Juliet, 2014).
Romeo & Juliet is generally known as a sad story. This tragedy believed to occur by chance or by destiny (Studymode, 1999). Those people criticized
Romeo for falling in love too quickly. However, it is reasonable as they were teenagers. Perhaps Romeo and Juliet were falling in love too quickly, it
does not mean that it was just a puppy love and they did not know what love really is (Romeo and Juliet, 2014). Even if they were teenagers and they
were probably did not have any experiences, they still have another chance to love somebody. People should not criticize that their love was immature.
Nowadays, falling in love with a person is not really difficult. Some of the people even have a love triangle. In the past, people could just meet
someone who arranged by their parents. And, they probably got married at the end. They did not want to being married, but they had no choice. Back
to now, not only in Europe, people in Hong Kong, they can choose who they want to being with. We can see that there are big difference between the
past and now. For now, we have more freedom on love.

Quotes In Romeo And Juliet
Quote 1: " O, she doth teach the torches to burn bright!
Beauty too rich for use, for earth to dear!
So how's a snowy dove trooping with crows"
(Shakespeare 1.5.49–54)
When Romeo first laid his eyes on Juliet, he instantly fell in love and his feelings began to pour out. The description of Juliet by Romeo continues,
as he compares her to a beautiful dove and all the other ladies around her to awkward crows. Instantly, every women, including Rosaline, became
irrelevant to Romeo. All he desired and all he could focus on at that moment was, Juliet, the woman he knew he was destined to marry. Romeo had
been trapped in a deep depression a few hours before he laid his eyes on Juliet, Romeo's feelings drastically change once he sees Juliet which proves to
be love at first sight. Romeos early display of affection presents him as a man who is in love with the idea of love, and in turn allows audiences to
like for him, just as they imagine he would for them. Although Romeo's character was introduced a few scenes prior, he was depressed and not himself.
So, the moment he met Juliet for the first time it was also the moment the audience met the real Romeo for the first time.
Quote 2: "This holy shrine the gentle send is this:
My lips, to blushing pilgrims, ready stand
To smooth that rough touch with the tender kiss"

Romeo And Juliet Fault
This day starts in war, and it will end in war. There is a certain hatred lurking in the summer air. Behind their glares, the rival kin keep their true
emotions close to themselves, but not close enough that things will not end in bloodshed. The servants do not realize that what comes next is their
fault; they cannot remember where this dislike has come from, only that it is righteous. Soon, too soon, their actions will drive Romeo and Juliet to
take their lives, but they do not know that. They draw their swords. This vendetta described is that of the play Romeo and Juliet by William
Shakespeare. The story revolves around Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet, two star–crossed lovers whose lives will end because of the fighting
between their families. Throughout the story, the feud creates complications for the main characters by making them keep their love a secret, getting
Romeo exiled from Verona, and driving Romeo and Juliet to commit suicide. In William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, the feud is to blame for the
eventual destruction of Romeo and Juliet because it causes their relationship to be ruined by hatred and the characters themselves realize that the feud
is the root of their problems. One reason why the feud is to blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet is that the rivalry turns their love from something
lighthearted into something dark. This becomes apparent in Act 2 Scene 2 when Romeo climbs over the Capulet wall to see Juliet after a party. Once

Capulet In Romeo And Juliet
Similar to a parasite, Juliet, the daughter of Capulet and Lady Capulet in the play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, is a character who is
very dependent and doesn't formulate her own opinion. So, throughout the course of the story, Juliet develops her own thoughts and continuously
becomes more independent according to the experiences she faces, consisting of disobeying her parents, falling deeply in love with Romeo and finally
accomplishing her liberty. William Shakespeare has created Juliet by interpreting her as a character who has transferred from a dependent person to an
independent person. For instance, while Juliet was asking the nurse about the fight between Romeo and Tybalt, Juliet says, "What storm is this that

For example, on the Balcony scene, when Romeo encountered Juliet, Juliet exclaimed, "O Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo? / Deny thy
father and refuse thy name, / Or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love, / And I'll no longer be a Capulet" (2.2.36–39). This showcases that Juliet truly
loves Romeo, meaning she regrets that Romeo is a Montague and that she is a Capulet. The division between their families produces a lot of issues
for them because the Capulet and the Montagues have massacred themselves continuously. Shakespeare uses connotation by deeply showing that
Juliet essentially asks Romeo, why he is a Montague? Juliet asks Romeo to object his last name, so they could have a peaceful relationship, not
separated by violence. In addition to this, when Juliet went to consult Friar Lawrence concerning the marriage with Count Paris, she said, "O, bid me
leap, rather than marry Paris, / From off the battlements of any tower, / Or walk in thievish ways, or bid me lurk / Where serpents are. Chain me with
roaring bears, / Or hide me nightly in a charnel house" (4.1.78–81). This demonstrates that Juliet prefers to die than to marry Count Paris. She is
essentially saying that she'll do anything not to marry Paris. She also says that she prefers to live with the corrupt and the unfair people. In conclusion,
this symbolizes that Juliet's love for Romeo has transferred to a very deep level, thus, demonstrating a change in Juliet's behavior, so, this portrays a

Relationships In Romeo And Juliet
In the twenty–first century many people think "dating" has to be a physical and technological relationship, while when Romeo and Juliet was written
the relationships were romantic and had more importance. In todays world most of the couples are brought together through match–making websites
which are not necessarily based off of having an immediate connection. Unlike the twenty–first century, the couple in Romeo and Juliet was more
involved with each other and were brought together by love at first sight. There are many factors that play a role in Romeo and Juliet's love story,
such as their ages, time periods, and parental involvement that determine the similarities, and differences, among these two generations of "lovers."
One of the contributing factors to the similarities and differences between the two generations of "lovers" is age. In the beginning of Romeo and
Juliet, Romeo expresses his love for Juliet by saying, " Did my heart love till now? Foreswear it, sight. For I ne'er saw true beauty till this night"
(1.5.53–54). Shortly after he mentioned Juliet's age, which was much younger than that of Romeo's. Even though there is such a large age gap it
doesn't necessarily affect Romeo and Juliet, unlike it would in todays world. In today's society, there is a law that states "Individuals aged 15 or
younger in North Carolina are not legally able to consent to sexual activity, and such activity may result in prosecution for statutory rape." Thus
meaning that nothing like Romeo and Juliet could've taken place now, like it did back then, because of their ages. Even though they had claimed to be
in love, it wouldn't have mattered since there were such a large age difference. Another contributing factor to the similarities and differences between
the two generations of "lovers" is the time period. There are many differences between the two time periods. Romeo and Juliet was written around 1590
when technology was limited. Unlike today, where everything we do revolves around using technology, whether it is a phone call, text message, party
invites, publishing a novel, or watching a movie. Since there is so much technology used in todays world, it is much easier to communicate with your

"his face be better than any man's; his leg excels all men's." The nurse teases Juliet again when she's about to reveal what "your love said." Knowing
Juliet has been waiting for this moment since the nurse returned, the nurse quickly changes the subject and instead asks, "where is your mother?" The
nurse had many laughs at Juliet's expense in just a couple minutes, highlighting the playful aspect of their relationship. However, the playful tone
quickly changes to a serious tone when they start discussing the future. Fully aware Romeo won't be able to enter the Capulet mansion, the nurse
comes up with a solution, telling Juliet, "hie you to church, I must another way, to fetch a ladder by the which you love." (Lines 77–78). The nurse
knows if she was ever caught helping Romeo into the Capulet mansion, there would be serious repercussions for her. Still, she's willingly helping
Romeo and Juliet break the rules because she loves Juliet and

Blaming Romeo And Juliet

  • 1. Blaming Romeo And Juliet Blaming Romeo and Juliet According to dictionary.com, the definition of star crossed lovers is, "Lovers whose relationship is doomed to fail are said to be "star–crossed" (frustrated by the stars), because those who believe in astrology claim that the stars control human destiny." In Shakespeare's play Romeo and Juliet, the main characters are called "star–crossed lovers." They are teenagers who fall in love but cannot be together because their families are rivals. They make many extreme and rash decisions, and in the end, they take their own lives. Although this ending sounds very doomed and blame must be assigned, the stars are not the ones who caused this tragedy. Romeo and Juliet are to blame for their impulsive behavior because of their... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some people might argue that their brains were not fully developed, so they can't fully reason through situations, however teens don't lose all of their common sense. Furthermore, their critical thinking skills grow. In Ronald Dahl, M.D.'s article Beyond Raging Hormones he explains, "(adolescents) show developmental increases in a wide range of mental and physical abilities, including reaction time, reasoning skills, problem solving, immune function, and capacity to cope with many kinds of stresses and challenges." Again, some people might say that their in–love brains can be blamed, but being in love is not always bad. Diane Ackerman explains in her article The Brain on Love, "If you're in a healthy relationship, holding your partner's hand is enough to subdue your blood pressure, ease your response to stress, improve your health and soften physical pain." Romeo and Juliet's love should have helped them to ease their stress which would help them make better choices, but they still acted illogically. Being an adolescent and being in love can help people to be more logical, yet Romeo and Juliet still acted childish. Finally, Romeo and Juliet knew what was going to happen before they drank poison or stabbed themselves. They knew that they were going to die. It is impossible to blame someone else for their deaths because each chose to the end their life and knew that they were going to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. Romeo And Juliet Analysis In 'Romeo and Juliet' Shakespeare plays with the audience's view of Romeo by initially presenting him as in love with Rosaline rather than Juliet. His hyperbolic and dramatic language depicts him as a young lover who is in love with the idea of love. This means that his change into a tragic and 'star–crossed' lover is much more dramatic and unexpected. Shakespeare portrays Romeo as almost two different characters. At times, his romantic side is conveyed through his loving actions towards Juliet but other times he seems impetuous and impulsive by the many foolish decisions he makes, such as killing himself just to be with Juliet. Throughout the play, the presentation of Romeo changes to a great extent and that is what I will be talking about in this essay. At the start of the play, Romeo is presented as a hopeless romantic, who loves someone who can never really love him back. The love that he feels towards Rosaline seems to be based on her looks, beauty and materialistic desires. This shows how Romeo's love for Rosaline is false and unreal. He is depicted as being very dramatic and over the top; this contrasts greatly with the more genuine love of Romeo and Juliet. Romeo illustrates his idea of love as a battlefield using military terms to describe the ways in which he has tried (and failed) to win over Rosaline: "She will not stay the siege of loving terms/Nor bide th' encounter of assailing eyes." Shakespeare repeatedly describes how similar battles of love and battles ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Romeo And Juliet Infatuation The Tragedy of Romeo & Juliet, by William Shakespeare, is one of the most well known and influential pieces in English literature; more importantly, most people recognize it as a story of true love, or star–crossed lovers. This play tells the story of Romeo and Juliet, who are from two feuding families. They fall in love with each other, despite being from rivaling families, and face numerous obstacles because of the feud. After a series of tragic events and miscommunication, Romeo and Juliet end up taking their lives for their "true love". However, Romeo and Juliet's decisions do not seem to be out of true love as they claim, but rather infatuation. In The Tragedy of Romeo & Juliet, William Shakespeare teaches readers that infatuation can... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This lesson is conveyed through Romeo and Juliet's belief that they are in love with each other, although it is evident that they are merely infatuated: Romeo is easily swayed by a person's looks, while Juliet is eager to break free from the confinements of her household by using Romeo. Although it is suggested that Romeo and Juliet don't feel "true love" in the play, its reputation among the general public suggests otherwise. They are frequently mentioned as a classic example of star–crossed lovers, who fell in love at first sight. Shakespeare's lesson is significant not only to people in love but can also suggest that the difference between other feelings or morals can be confusing when emotions come into ... • 4. The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet Anguish is conceived in love and death. William Shakespeare creates turmoil through his language in Romeo and Juliet. His tragedy shows how hate and love coincide with one another. Throughout the play, Romeo and Juliet's passion for each other keeps them together, but eventually kills them both. Shakespeare creates the conflict through his language. His use of similes, metaphors, and verbal irony set the mood for his play. The way these components flow together create the atmosphere that made this misfortune legendary. In Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare uses similes often. For example, he uses a simile to show Lord Montague's worry for Romeo. Montague goes on to say that Romeo is "So far from sounding and discovery/As is the bud bit with an envious worm/ Ere he can spread his sweet leaves to the air" (I.i.158–160). The simile in this scene is used to express how Romeo guards his emotions tightly, just as the bud of a flower holds itself tightly until it is comfortable enough to spread its leaves to the air. Furthermore, a simile is found when Romeo is describing love before the Capulet's party. Due to his heartache from Rosaline, Romeo says, "Is love a tender thing? It is too rough, Too rude, too boisterous, and it pricks like a thorn" (I.iv.25–26). Romeo is comparing love to a thorn because it is painful. Love teases you and can hurt your heart, just as the thorn of a rose hurts if you touch it. Lastly, when Romeo is sneaking around the Capulets' party and spots Juliet, ... • 5. Themes In Romeo And Juliet But written over four hundred years ago, do the concepts, messages, layout and more in Romeo and Juliet still remain relevant to audiences around the world today? Themes in Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, and with its ardent and realistic treatment of universal themes such as love and fate, the story has become timeless. Teenagers right up to the elderly can empathise with or find these themes interesting. This story can be interpreted in multiple ways, and still understood and relate to people everywhere, regardless of their culture, background or differing lives. Romeo and Juliet is a tale of two "star–crossed" lovers, whom fortune has not smiled upon. Love is a predominant theme conveyed within Romeo and Juliet. Physical attraction is implied when Friar Lawrence states, "Young men's love lies not in their hearts, but in their eyes" indicating that Romeo seems to love base on physical appearance. He switches from loving Rosaline to loving Juliet, almost overnight. Friar Lawrence believes that it is not true love, but lust. Romeo resembles an ordinary young teen as he bases his love on appearance, which individuals, even adults still do in today's world. As a result, Romeo and Juliet effectively impact modern audiences as they can relate and empathize with Romeo. Also, their stages or steps of love (i.e. marriage) was very quick paced. Even Juliet admitted, at the balcony scene, that their love is "too rash, too unadvised; too sudden, too like lightning.." The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Choices In Romeo And Juliet A world free of control is a world full of freedom. The characters in Romeo and Juliet, and Pyramus and Thisbe display that their choices or destiny led to their untimely deaths. Whether it was the characters' choices or destiny remains a question that we cannot truly answer. The characters in Romeo and Juliet, by William Shakespeare, and Pyramus and Thisbe, by Ovid, show that personal choices impact them on a greater scale than destiny, because of their impulsive nature. The characters in, "Romeo and Juliet," can be characterized by their stubborn and impulsive nature. Romeo exhibits his impulsive nature when he fights Tybalt. "Away to heaven, respective leniently And fire –eyed fury be my conduct now Now, Tybalt, take the "villain" back again" (3,1,85–87). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Romeo knew what was the punishment for killing a fellow citizen. Nevertheless, he took a risk by killing Tybalt, to avenge Mercutio's death. Romeo Another example of characters displaying their impulsive behavior is when Romeo decides to become infatuated with Juliet. Romeo fell in love with Juliet because of her beauty. Not her character or family. "...my heart love till now? Forswear, its sight, I ne'er saw true beauty till tonight"(1,5,59–60). Romeo believes that persona is not needed in love. If he had learned about Juliet's character and background, he would most likely think about his decision to love Juliet. The characters of Romeo and Juliet's decisions were not thought through which led them to their untimely ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Romeo And Juliets widely known play, so there have been many different variations of it. Over the years people have came up with many different ideas, and views of the play. Some companies have made movies, and others plays. In the movie that took place in California they modernized it. Instead of swords they used guns, but still called them swords. The (1996)Romeo and Juliet is a play that was written by Shakespeare, in the 1500's. It is a very ey had vehicles, skyscrapers, police helicopters stuff like that. Juliet's mother was ruder to her in the modern one then the other two. Its also the only one that shows him receiving the letter, although he does not read it of course. They made the montagues out to be poor and the Capulets to be rich. He meets Juliet... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The play starts out with a narrator. As the characters come out you notice they are all dressed fancy, and the montagues are a different race then the capulets ( white and black). Romeo pulls up on a motorcycle, to talk to Mercutio. They appear to be talking in the forest. They used the dialect that was used in the original play, but dressed modern. The motorcycle is the only motor vehicle in the play. Lady capulet is depicted as a woman with a temper and that doesn't take any crap, in the others she is a pricy fancy woman. Lord capulet is depicted as a caring father whereas in the other two he seems more abusive, to both lady capulet and Juliet. It seems to have more scenes, where it shows Romeo and Juliet just talking on her balcony because she doesn't really have a room in the play. The only seen where she has a room is when she drinks that potion, and they think she is dead but it just shows her bed. When Romeo slays Tybalt with ease, it show Juliet talking about it to the nurse, and the nurse comforting her. Tybalt has no trouble killing Mercutio in the play, while Romeo has no trouble killing Tybalt. It shows Romeo purchasing the poison, but its is just an empty bottle in both films they contained liquid. The man Romeo purchased the poison from was reluctant, to sell it to him in the play. He said it didn't feel right and that he could also get in trouble for it. When Romeo drinks the poison he dies before Juliet wakes up. She kills herself shortly after with ... • 8. Romeo And Juliet : The Tragedy Of Romeo And Juliet Have you ever seen a murder mystery movie before? If so, you would recall that the detective tries to look for clues that leads to the suspected murderer. In the play, Romeo and Juliet, the same format applies, however, the murdering was done by the victims, Romeo and Juliet. With the tragic play coming to an end, we, the readers, are left wondering, "Who is to blame for Romeo and Juliet's death?" While most characters may have a clear correlation to their suicide, the real murderer was in the stars, or in other words, fate murdered Romeo and Juliet. If fate had not have Romeo and Juliet's death already foretold, provide hardships for the two, and mess up the Friars scheme to save Romeo and Juliet's marriage, the play would not have been considered a tragedy. Firstly, fate's plan to kill Romeo and Juliet was introduced at the very beginning of the play. In the Prologue of Act 1, it states, " From forth the fatal loins of these two foes (Capulets and Montagues) a pair of star–crossed lovers take their life;..." (Act 1, prologue, lines 5–6). This quote states that both Romeo and Juliet are destined to die as William Shakespeare, the author of the play, tells the audience at the beginning. This shows that all in all, Romeo and Juliet were to die sooner or later enough as the prophecy was "written in the stars." The plan would come to prosper as at the end as Romeo and Juliet both had their spirits just above the mortal's heads. Secondly, in order to give a reason for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Themes In Romeo And Juliet LIGHTNESS/DARKNESS AND THE SUN/THE MOON "Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth."–Buddha. The tragic story of the two star–crossed lovers, tells a tale with multiple different themes, but the most vital one that plays throughout the whole play, is the sun and moon and how Romeo and Juliet are associated and get affected by it. As the sun rises, the bright lights cast its shines onto good and peaceful times, which is why Juliet is depicted by the sun (As she is perceived as peaceful, obedient, and righteous). Although, the brightness of the day does not last long until nightfall happens and creates terror and issues for the days to comes. Where Romeo and Juliet, have their end set at the start. Subsequently, when the moon is present in the sky and the time states it is the night, it is the only time where Romeo and Juliet can be together without the distraction of the outside world. Consequently, the decisions they make at night, are not bright and causes eternal darkness for the two lovers. • 10. The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet Love also cannot be affected by other people. Romeo thinks he knows what love is with Rosaline, but when it comes to Juliet, all other people are inexistent. Love should be powerful enough to drive someone completely crazy about the other, in a good way. Right when Romeo meets Juliet he says, "For I ne'er saw true beauty till this night" (1.5.60). From this point forward, Romeo's love is dedicated to Juliet. No one can stand in the way. Next, Shakespeare deceits the reader by bringing in Paris for Juliet to marry. However, Juliet speaks her mind and says, "O, bid me leap, rather than marry Paris, From off the battlements of any tower, Or walk in thievish ways, or bid me lurk Where serpents are" (4.1.78–81). Paris seems like a good guy, but he really shouldn't interfere with Romeo and Juliet. In fact, this act of marrying sooner brings more conflict for the star–crossed lovers to commit suicide sooner. Still, Romeo and Juliet did that act out of love and didn't listen to anyone's advice. Lastly, all family members of the Capulets and Montagues are not a problem for Romeo and Juliet's love. Neighbors are supposed to be comforting and welcoming, but as for Romeo and Juliet's families, they want the other family dead. Juliet says, "O Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore are thou Romeo? Deny thy father and refuse thy name; Or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love, And I'll no longer be a Capulet" (2.2.36–39). Just by chance, Romeo and Juliet have to be enemies. • 30. Rewards In Romeo And Juliet "The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet," written by William Shakespeare, reveals how hormones can cause teenagers to choose rewards over risks. This play is a tragic love story of two young star–crossed lovers who are forbidden to be together. Their banned love led to to their deaths. Modern theories on the adolescent brain prove how changes in the brain in this time period of one's life can affect their behavior to certain situations. When hormones are left uncontrolled, teens can be attracted to temptations that can lead to dangerous outcomes. Hormones can lead teens to choose rewards over risks without them even considering the consequences. Juliet tells Romeo that if any of her family finds him, they may kill him and he says, "My life... Here, Juliet decided to completely throw risk out of the window to be with Romeo forever. Her hormones kicked into gear and practically dominated this decision. The article "Teenage Brains," by David Dobbs, provides some reasoning to this behavior. Dobbs writes that "between our 12th and 25th years...the brain undergoes extensive remodelling...[and] stress, fatigue, or challenges can cause a misfire." Juliet is 13 years old and is dealing with the stressful situation of a long–distance relationship. She immediately jumps to the idea of suicide but is then offered this new choice and takes it. Undoubtedly, Juliet's adolescent hormones are the cause for these not–well–thought–out decisions. Hormones sure are a mischievous system in a teen's brain when it comes to decision making. Without them, Romeo and Juliet may have stayed alive and wouldn't be so heartbroken over losing each other. They might not have ever fell in love if it was not for their hormones. This would have prevented many issues. But, because teens do have hormones, it is very important to teach them responsible ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In order to comprehend the story deeply, I have watched Romeo & Juliet (1968 film) recently. This film won many award and was very successful. Romeo and Juliet was popular, especially among teenagers since it is a romance film (Romeo and Juliet, 2014). Romeo & Juliet is generally known as a sad story. This tragedy believed to occur by chance or by destiny (Studymode, 1999). Those people criticized Romeo for falling in love too quickly. However, it is reasonable as they were teenagers. Perhaps Romeo and Juliet were falling in love too quickly, it does not mean that it was just a puppy love and they did not know what love really is (Romeo and Juliet, 2014). Even if they were teenagers and they were probably did not have any experiences, they still have another chance to love somebody. People should not criticize that their love was immature. Nowadays, falling in love with a person is not really difficult. Some of the people even have a love triangle. In the past, people could just meet someone who arranged by their parents. And, they probably got married at the end. They did not want to being married, but they had no choice. Back to now, not only in Europe, people in Hong Kong, they can choose who they want to being with. We can see that there are big difference between the past and now. • 34. Quotes In Romeo And Juliet Quote 1: " O, she doth teach the torches to burn bright! Beauty too rich for use, for earth to dear! So how's a snowy dove trooping with crows" (Shakespeare 1.5.49–54) When Romeo first laid his eyes on Juliet, he instantly fell in love and his feelings began to pour out. The description of Juliet by Romeo continues, as he compares her to a beautiful dove and all the other ladies around her to awkward crows. Instantly, every women, including Rosaline, became irrelevant to Romeo. All he desired and all he could focus on at that moment was, Juliet, the woman he knew he was destined to marry. Romeo had been trapped in a deep depression a few hours before he laid his eyes on Juliet, Romeo's feelings drastically change once he sees Juliet which proves to be love at first sight. Romeos early display of affection presents him as a man who is in love with the idea of love, and in turn allows audiences to like for him, just as they imagine he would for them. Although Romeo's character was introduced a few scenes prior, he was depressed and not himself. So, the moment he met Juliet for the first time it was also the moment the audience met the real Romeo for the first time. Quote 2: "This holy shrine the gentle send is this: My lips, to blushing pilgrims, ready stand To smooth that rough touch with the tender kiss" (Shakespeare 1.5.103–105) The author first starts by comparing his new love to a "holy shrine" and a kiss to a "sin". Behind their glares, the rival kin keep their true emotions close to themselves, but not close enough that things will not end in bloodshed. The servants do not realize that what comes next is their fault; they cannot remember where this dislike has come from, only that it is righteous. Soon, too soon, their actions will drive Romeo and Juliet to take their lives, but they do not know that. They draw their swords. This vendetta described is that of the play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. The story revolves around Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet, two star–crossed lovers whose lives will end because of the fighting between their families. Throughout the story, the feud creates complications for the main characters by making them keep their love a secret, getting Romeo exiled from Verona, and driving Romeo and Juliet to commit suicide. In William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, the feud is to blame for the eventual destruction of Romeo and Juliet because it causes their relationship to be ruined by hatred and the characters themselves realize that the feud is the root of their problems. One reason why the feud is to blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet is that the rivalry turns their love from something lighthearted into something dark. • 37. Capulet In Romeo And Juliet Similar to a parasite, Juliet, the daughter of Capulet and Lady Capulet in the play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, is a character who is very dependent and doesn't formulate her own opinion. So, throughout the course of the story, Juliet develops her own thoughts and continuously becomes more independent according to the experiences she faces, consisting of disobeying her parents, falling deeply in love with Romeo and finally accomplishing her liberty. William Shakespeare has created Juliet by interpreting her as a character who has transferred from a dependent person to an independent person. For instance, while Juliet was asking the nurse about the fight between Romeo and Tybalt, Juliet says, "What storm is this that blows so contrary?... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, on the Balcony scene, when Romeo encountered Juliet, Juliet exclaimed, "O Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo? / Deny thy father and refuse thy name, / Or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love, / And I'll no longer be a Capulet" (2.2.36–39). This showcases that Juliet truly loves Romeo, meaning she regrets that Romeo is a Montague and that she is a Capulet. The division between their families produces a lot of issues for them because the Capulet and the Montagues have massacred themselves continuously. Shakespeare uses connotation by deeply showing that Juliet essentially asks Romeo, why he is a Montague? Juliet asks Romeo to object his last name, so they could have a peaceful relationship, not separated by violence. In addition to this, when Juliet went to consult Friar Lawrence concerning the marriage with Count Paris, she said, "O, bid me leap, rather than marry Paris, / From off the battlements of any tower, / Or walk in thievish ways, or bid me lurk / Where serpents are. Chain me with roaring bears, / Or hide me nightly in a charnel house" (4.1.78–81). This demonstrates that Juliet prefers to die than to marry Count Paris. She is essentially saying that she'll do anything not to marry Paris. She also says that she prefers to live with the corrupt and the unfair people. In conclusion, this symbolizes that Juliet's love for Romeo has transferred to a very deep level, thus, demonstrating a change in Juliet's behavior, so, this portrays a dynamic ... • 38. Relationships In Romeo And Juliet In the twenty–first century many people think "dating" has to be a physical and technological relationship, while when Romeo and Juliet was written the relationships were romantic and had more importance. In todays world most of the couples are brought together through match–making websites which are not necessarily based off of having an immediate connection. Unlike the twenty–first century, the couple in Romeo and Juliet was more involved with each other and were brought together by love at first sight. There are many factors that play a role in Romeo and Juliet's love story, such as their ages, time periods, and parental involvement that determine the similarities, and differences, among these two generations of "lovers." One of the contributing factors to the similarities and differences between the two generations of "lovers" is age. In the beginning of Romeo and Juliet, Romeo expresses his love for Juliet by saying, " Did my heart love till now? Foreswear it, sight. For I ne'er saw true beauty till this night" (1.5.53–54). Shortly after he mentioned Juliet's age, which was much younger than that of Romeo's. Even though there is such a large age gap it doesn't necessarily affect Romeo and Juliet, unlike it would in todays world. In today's society, there is a law that states "Individuals aged 15 or younger in North Carolina are not legally able to consent to sexual activity, and such activity may result in prosecution for statutory rape." Thus meaning that nothing like Romeo and Juliet could've taken place now, like it did back then, because of their ages. Even though they had claimed to be in love, it wouldn't have mattered since there were such a large age difference. Another contributing factor to the similarities and differences between the two generations of "lovers" is the time period. There are many differences between the two time periods. Romeo and Juliet was written around 1590 when technology was limited. Unlike today, where everything we do revolves around using technology, whether it is a phone call, text message, party invites, publishing a novel, or watching a movie. Since there is so much technology used in todays world, it is much easier to communicate with your significant other ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
