2. Bauer media
I would chose Bauer Media to publish my magazine
because Bauer Media is popular among publishing
rock magazines such as Kerrang, Q, and Mojo which I
based my magazine ‘Keruption’ on when I was
producing it.
3. Magazines that inspired my magazine
Magazines that inspired my magazine were most rock
based magazines popular among music magazines.
These included rock magazines such as Kerrang, Q,
Rock sound, Classic Rock, NME, Rolling Stone, Mojo,
Revolver and Metal Hammer. When producing my
magazine I looked at the codes and conventions of
each of these rock genre magazines to make sure my
magazine consisted of the expected conventions of
magazines of a rock style.
4. Similarities between my magazine and others
The similarities between my magazine and other rock
based magazines were the codes and conventions I
had looked at while planned and then producing my
magazine. These conventions consisted of masthead,
cover lines, cover star, puffs, colour scheme, tag line,
skyline and banners. I looked at the colour scheme and
layout that each rock magazine had used and used
similarities to my production work so that it would
also represent the rock genre.
5. Where would my magazine be bought?
My magazine would be able to be bought in places
such as newsagents and supermarkets. I also would
like my magazines to be sold online on stores such as
‘Grindstore’ or shops in local towns such as ‘Pulp’ that
sell merchandise, clothes and magazines of a rock
based style. This would make my magazine more
known and popular and my magazine would be able to
sell more.
6. Why would my magazine be bought there?
I would sell my magazines there because it is common
for magazines to be sold at places such as newsagents
and supermarkets so it would be easier for my target
audience to find my magazine and buy it. I also
wanted my magazines to be sold on rock based
websites as it would be possible to where my target
audience would discover and take an interest to my
magazine and buy it.
