2. This year will be devoted to understanding and
learning more about worship. We will have a
different focus each month, but the main
emphasis will be learning how God wants us to
worship Him. This month our focus will be
“Obedient Worship.” Since worship is God
ordained, there are specific standards which
must be met. Our acts and attitudes of worship
should be a reflection of His holiness and His
sovereignty.
3. Obedience is an attitude of worship which leads
to obedient acts of worship. Obedient worship
means doing whatever God asks without
reservation, hesitation or procrastinate. When it
comes to worship God do not owe us an
explanation or reason for whatever He asks us
to do. Understanding can wait, but obedience
can’t. We will never understand some things
about worship until we are first obedient to the
things we do know. Our obedience will unlock
our understanding.
4. Sometimes we try to offer God partial obedience
in worship. We want to pick and choose the
commands we obey. We make a list of the
commands we like and obey those while
ignoring the ones we think are unreasonable,
difficult, expensive, or unpopular. We say
things like “I’ll attend church and sing songs I
like, but I won’t lift my hands or stand up.” “I’ll
come to church, but I’ll wait until after they
finish devotion.” We will not accept the fact that
partial obedience is disobedience.
5. PSALM 95
Let Us….
• Sing Unto The LORD
• Shout Joyfully Unto The Rock
• Come Before His Presence With
Thanksgiving
• Shout Joyfully With Musical Song
6. Why?
“For the Lord is the
great God, And the
great King above all
gods.” (Psalm 95:3, NKJV)
7. Therefore, we should…
not forsaking the assembling of
ourselves together, as is the manner
of some, but exhorting one another,
and so much the more as you see the
Day approaching (Hebrews 10:25).
