2. This year is devoted to understanding
and learning more about worship. We
will have a different focus each month,
but the main emphasis will be learning
how God wants us to worship Him. This
month our focus will be “Will Worship.”
The main concept is the mental aspect of
worship. The Greek word for “will” has
several applications, all implying an
action of the mind. Words in the original
language includes:
3. • Determination
• Desire
• Wishes
• Inclination
• Preference
The actual word is the-lō, which is used
to communicate something hoped for.
But the word can also be translated as to
resolve. That is, to decide firmly on a
certain course of action. This will be the
focus point for this month.
4. Will worship is having a firmly made-up
mind to reverence God. Regardless of
how we feel, “will” worship overrides
our mental emotions and our physical
afflictions. Will worship propels us to go
beyond and above our circumstances
and situations, because it is focused on
Whom we are worshipping. It is mind
worship that affects the heart. When we
resolve to worship, all of the original
language definitions are fulfilled.
5. WHEN WE “WILL” TO
WORSHIP
• We become determined to worship
• Our desire is to worship
• Our wish to be in worship
• Our mindset is inclined to worship
• Our preference is to worship
