ACCEPTABLE
WORSHIP

2. This year will be devoted to understanding
and learning more about worship. We will
have a different focus each month, but the
main emphasis will be learning how God
wants us to worship Him. This month our
focus will be the “Posture of Worship.” The
dictionary’s definition of posture as a noun
is the position in which someone holds
their body. The verb form of the word has
to do with an attitude for approach.

3. Every word that describes worship in
the Bible describes a posture of the
body. But worship postures are more
than physical. Worship postures are
outward, physical expressions,
motivated by an inward spiritual
passion. Worship postures can be
acts of expressing an attitude of
thanksgiving and admiration,
designed to display reverent and
honor to God.

• Head Bowed – Act Of Reverence
• Hands Lifted Up - Sign Of Surrender
• Kneeling - Position Of Submission
• Laying flat – Display Of Superiority
• Hand Clasped – Image Of Concession
