3. INTRODUCTION
The immutability of God is a biblical
theology term for God which,
described Him as unchanging in His
nature and in His character. This
includes God’s person, principle and
purposes, as well as His promises.
God's immutability is the source of
all His other attributes which
includes:
4. • His wisdom
• His merciful
• His goodness
• His graciousness
• His holiness
• His righteousness
The same may be said about His
knowledge. God does not need to
gain knowledge; He knows all
things. His knowledge is eternally
and unchanging.
5. Being without limits (infinite) and
unchanging (immutability) are
mutually supportive of each other.
When something changes, it is made
better, worse, or different. But
because God is perfect, He cannot be
made better. Because God is holy He
cannot be made worse. Because God
is God He cannot be made different.
Thus there is no need for Him to
change. But He can change us!
6. WHAT CAN WE LEARN?
The Immutability of God gives us
comfort and security in who we are
and who God is. Knowing God does
not change provides us with a
spiritual and moral anchor in a
rapidly changing culture. When we
are pulled in many directions and are
searching for answers, we can know
that God is constant, dependable,
and faithful to help us when we ask.
