Devotion day 1

  1. 1. Why are we here?Because… we accept the challenge of transforming mediocrity into excellence. we are ready to learn new things and we are willing to change. Great leaders are movers, they are proactive NOT reactive. 
  2. 2. And in so doing…let us strive for EXCELLENCE because… God has designed us excellently. Excellence is a burning desire and a never ending quest for continuous improvement.
  3. 3. Why pursue EXCELLENCE?because… “He who pursues excellence willnever fail because he will have very few people to compete with.”
  4. 4. Motivations for Excellence in Planning: “Satisfaction today, sacrifice tomorrow. Sacrifice today, satisfaction tomorrow.” “Everything we do today is just a preparation for bigger things tomorrow”
  5. 5. How do we aim for Success? Let us all have a Drive for Excellence Let us all Walk the extra mile Let us have single-mindedness of purpose Let us achieve Synergy Alliance Let us seek God’s Approval
  6. 6. How do we seek God’s Approval?  Hear His Word  Heed His Word
  7. 7. What does God’s Word say? “…every one of us shall give account of himself to God.” - Romans 14:12 “..we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. - 2 Corinthians 5:10
  8. 8. What does God’s Word say? For he that doeth wrong shall receive again for the wrong that he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.- Colossians 3:25 “…they who have believed God may be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.”-Titus 3:8
  9. 9. What does God’s Word say? “Whatsoever ye do, work heartily, as unto the Lord, and not unto men”- Colossians 3:23 “In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct thy paths.”- Proverbs 3:6
  10. 10. Our Response To God’s Word Let us serve others knowing that it is an excellent avenue to serve God. Let our love for God be our strongest motivation in life.
  11. 11. Our Response To God’s Word During the day of reckoning, we will give an account to the Lord for how we have used the talents/ time/ treasures He has given. This is the strongest reason why we must always give our best in whatever we do.
  12. 12. So great are the challenges! So limited are we!We won’t live here on earth forever… We need God!
