4. EPHESIANS 6:12 (NET)
For our struggle is not against
flesh and blood, but against
the rulers, against the powers,
against the world rulers of this
darkness, against the spiritual
forces of evil in the heavens.
6. EXODUS 17:11-13 (ESV)
11 Whenever Moses held up his hand,
Israel prevailed, and whenever he
lowered his hand, Amalek prevailed.
12 But Moses' hands grew weary, so
they took a stone and put it under him,
and he sat on it, while Aaron and Hur
held up his hands, one on one side, and
the other on the other side. So his hands
were steady until the going down of the
sun. 13 And Joshua overwhelmed
Amalek and his people with the sword.
8. 2 CORINTHIANS 10:3-5 (NET)
3 For though we live as human beings,
we do not wage war according to
human standards, 4 for the weapons of
our warfare are not human weapons,
but are made powerful by God for
tearing down strongholds. We tear
down arguments 5 and every arrogant
obstacle that is raised up against the
knowledge of God, and we take every
thought captive to make it obey Christ.
There have been thousands of books written about leadership. Many forums, conferences and seminars have been given concerning leadership. But the fact is that the Word of God is the superior source of leadership. The purpose of this year’s theme is to reinforce that truth.
Even when people frustrate and anger us, they are not the enemy. When we remember this truth, we will love, shepherd, and pray for people differently.

The enemy knows that when leaders fall, followers are wounded in the process.
