 Photo 1- It is in Germany around the time of World War II, they are Nazi-supporters. 
The boys are doing the hail Hitler sign. 
 Photo 2- It is overseas during the Vietnam War. 
The color of the photo means that it couldn’t have been taken to long ago, and the guns 
laying around the camp along with the uniforms they have on show that they are 
fighting, hence the Vietnam War. Also the landscape with all the tents sent up convey 
that they are overseas. 
 Photo 3- It is during the 1920’s or 30’s during prohibition. 
The well-dressed men seem to be pouring alcohol out onto the streets, the photo is also 
in black and white which shows that it was when black and white photos were the only 
ones that could be taken. 
What message do you think the photographer was trying to convey? 
 Photo 1- The photographer was trying to convey that the Nazi party was good by showing 
innocent boys as being a part of it. 
 Photo 2- The photographer was trying to convey what life was like for those soldiers who were 
fighting the war. It was meant to show the war in a more positive light because it showed 
healthy happy males instead of all of the death and destruction.

men seem excited to be dumping out the alcohol while the poor looking men do not seem 
happy.
