Misty Cook-Goseyun is a passionate educator who believes all children can learn in different ways. She has worked with students from pre-school to special education throughout her career. Misty pursued higher education at NAU to become a certified teacher and completed two master's degrees. She hopes to influence K-12 education funding allocation as a school principal while remaining dedicated to teaching students.

1. Misty Cook-Goseyun<br />If she could create an ideal school, it would come from the heart. Every staff member would care about every student, teachers would be well compensated and funding would be unlimited. Every child would have every resource… smart boards, wireless internet... books.<br />After one minute with Misty Cook –Goseyun you can see that she is professional, articulate, knowledgeable and technologically savvy. She loves working with children and believes that a caring and supportive environment is the key to learning. Throughout her career she has worked with all sorts of students, from pre-school to special education, and has learned as much from them as they have from her. One of the most important things she learned from her students has also become the center of her teaching philosophy - all children can learn, though many learn in different ways. It is this diversity of learning styles that has prompted Misty to become a life-long learner. <br />Misty decided to pursue higher education choosing NAU because she could complete her degree at home in Whiteriver. Although the road to becoming a certified teacher wasn’t always easy, it instilled in her a confidence that she could achieve any goal she set for herself. <br />Misty sees funding as the biggest issue in today’s public education and feels the impact of the recent state budget cuts on K-12 education. After completing her second masters degree, her first in Early Childhood Education and the second in Educational Leadership with Principal Certificate, Misty hopes to influence k-12 educational resource allocation through a position as a school principal. Teaching, however, will always remain her fist love, “The reward for me is in the relationships I have with the students” Misty says, “I see them working, maturing and becoming successful and that is very satisfying.”<br />
