Hiring Manager
Dream Job & Co
Something Drive,
Any City, CA 99999
Dear Ms. _______:
When I first learned about the programs offered by State Virtual Academies, I immediately
thought of Joseph. Joseph was a bright, but terrified student on the road to dropping out of school
when he came to my classroom freshman year. Through individual attention and care, consistent
advocacy and a thorough understanding of his learning needs and educational rights, Joseph
began to flourish, graduating high school, eventually moving out and living independently in a
new city far from home. I can’t help but wonder how much more successful and how much
happier he might have been in an online learning setting.
Through teaching individuals within the Special Education program at Claremont Unified, I
enjoy the opportunity to empower students who have previously become accustomed to focusing
on what they can’t do instead of what they can. I am excited by the opportunity available to
make education accessible to kids who don’t learn in a typical environment. It is my belief that a
Special Education teacher should possess a number of key characteristics including insight,
flexibility, morality, ingenuity, passion, creativity, knowledge, commitment, patience and the
ability to individually connect with each of her students.
I am eager to use my collective experience for significant and valuable contribution to California
Virtual Academies. I look forward to meeting with you to further explore this opportunity.
Sincerely,
Linda Sampson
