We use ‘When’ in interrogatives to mean ‘at what time’ or ‘at
what occasion’.
When did you see him?
When can I meet you?
When would such a solution be possible? (in what
circumstances)

‘When’ can be used as a conjunction.
I loved mathematics when I was at school.
Call me when you’ve finished.
How can they expect to learn anything when they never listen?
