Read the following sentences and notice the

“Quiet” is said to be in positive degree as it only

the quietness of today with quietness of some other day.
Let us read the third sentence:
My grandfather says that our village is the quietest among all
the villages in our district. (Superlative Degree)
“Quietest” is said to be in superlative degree as it compares
the quietness of all the villages that are present in that
district.
