This document discusses the proper usage of the word "whether" in different situations: 1) "Whether" is used with an infinitive when the clause includes "to" plus the base form of a verb, such as "to go" or "to stay". 2) "Whether" is used after a preposition when the clause includes a preposition followed by the choice. 3) "Whether" is used when the clause begins with the word "whether". 4) "Whether" is used when followed by "or not" to indicate a choice between two options.

1. WHEN TO USE “WHETHER”

a) With infinitive – ఇచ్చిన వ఺కయం లో infinitive ఉనిపపుడు(to + V1 form of the verb)
Susie doesn’t know whether to go for shopping or not.
So far, I didn’t decide whether to stay at home or to go to office.
Sidhu has not yet decided whether to join in engineering or medicine.
b) After preposition - ఇచ్చిన వ఺కయం లో preposition ఉనిపపుడు, preposition తరువ఺త
Our success mainly depends on whether we have confidence or not.
I am not bothered about whether you like my proposal or not.
Sidhu is not at all interested in whether his proposal is accepted or not.
c) When the clause begins with “whether” వ఺కయం“whether” తో మొదలైనపపుడు
Whether Raja attends the party or not is not the question.
Whether Susie continues her studies or not is doubtful.
Whether I approve the proposal or not is not clear.
d) When “whether” is followed by “or not” - “whether” తరవ఺త“or not” వచ్చినపపుడు
I don’t know whether or not I qualify for mains.
Susie didn’t say whether or not she would attend the party.
Raja doesn’t tell at this moment whether or not he can help me.
