3. Three criteria in Choosing a
Microcontroller
1. meeting the computing needs of the task efficiently and
cost effectively
2. availability of software development tools
3. wide availability and reliable sources of the
microcontrollers.
7. LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY (LCD)
• A type of display use in digital watches
and many portable computers
• Consists of an array of tiny segments (called pixels)
that can be manipulated to present information.
8. Sensors……….
A sensor (also called detector) is
a device that measures a
physical quantity and converts it
into a signal which can be read
by an observer or by an
instrument.
9. water –level sensor
• There are different aspects of controlling the water level.
There are mainly three aspects of water level control…..
• 1. Sensing the water level
• 2. Generate the control signal
• 3. Controlling the motor
10. Motor:
• Motor is controlled by the microcontroller. The
microcontroller switches the power supply to motor
by relay mechanism. The motor employed is DC
motor which has high starting torque and constant
speed.
13. Working principle
• Microcontroller checks for high and low
voltages.
• If water is below sensor 1, the LCD module will
display “tank is empty on the pump”.
• If water reaches sensor 2, the LCD module will
display “tank is full off the pump”.
14. Advantages
• Savings in Electricity consumption.
• Savings in Water.
• Easy maintenance.
• Low cost.
• Prevents the water loss due to over flow.
15. Applications
1. The circuit can be implemented in house for
effective usage of water and electricity.
2. It can be used in Municipal Corporation to
pump water .
3. It can be implemented in larger industries
(Dying Industries).
16. Future scope
• Controls the motor automatically.
• Reduces the burden on man.
• It can used in any industry concerned with
fluids.
17. Conclusion
• This project overcomes the human effort to fill
the tank.
• It is economical and environmental friendly.
• Further implementation results in time and
water saving.
