Title: Automatic Water Irrigation System: Efficient and Sustainable Solutions for Smart Water Management
This presentation explores the advancements and benefits of automatic water irrigation systems in achieving efficient and sustainable water management. With the increasing need to conserve water resources and optimize agricultural practices, automatic water irrigation systems offer innovative solutions for smart water management in various fields, including agriculture, landscaping, and gardening.
4. INTRODUCTION
• Water Irrigation System is a soil monitoring system which detects if the moisture
content in the soil is above or below a certain limit. If it goes below it, it is time to
water the plant until the soil surrounding the plant is moist enough. An
arrangement of DC motor – relay is used in the system.
5. PROJECT OBJECTIVES
To minimize manual
intervention by the
farmers
To prevent excessive
wastage of water
To protect the plant from
instant damage
To utilize sensors, timers,
and controllers to
precisely measure and
regulate water delivery
6. WORKING
METHODOLOGY
• Terminals of the relay will normally be open
• When sensor detects moisture less than the
desired value of moisture, it will send signal to
the relay through Arduino.
• The terminals of relay will be closed, and the
water pump will start pumping water
7. COMPONENTS
• DC Battery
• Arduino UNO
• 5V Relay Module
• 12V DC water Pump
• Bread Board
• Moisture Sensor
8. ARDUINO UNO
• An open-source micro controller-based kit for building
digital devices
• It provides sets of digital and analog pins that can be
interfaced to various expansion boards and other circuits
• For programming the microcontrollers, the Arduino has a
specific software associated with it, which provides dan
integrated development environment (IDE) based on the
processing project
9. SOIL MOISTURE SENSOR
• Measures the volumetric content of water in the soil
• For measuring water content, it uses properties of the soil,
like electrical resistance, dielectric constant or interaction
with nutrient
10. RELAY MODULE
• It is an electrically operated switch
• It consists of a set of input terminals for a single or multiple
control signals, and a set of operating contact terminals
• Relays are used where it is necessary to control one or
several circuits by an independent low-power signal
