9. Relationships : Establishing a strong presence
in your community is key to building
relationships. Reception is often helped or
hindered by perception. If it is not perceived
as beneficial for a person’s life, for their family
or their community, then you will lose their
attention. Only through relationship will you
ever connect to the men you’re trying to
reach.
10. Reputation: After your presence has been
established, your reputation will carry your
purpose into areas that were off limits before.
Men will follow someone they can believe in.
Your words, your message will never be
louder than the life you live in front of them.
Only a good reputation is worth following.
11. Respect: Men operate off of the principle of
respect. As you earn the respect of men, you
will earn your way into their communities.
The message becomes stronger and more
receptive. Now it is not just words spoken but
actions taken.

• Begin by establishing yourself within the community or on campus.
• Set-up meetings with community / campus leaders. Look for opportunities
to establish relationships that are genuine. Not ones that come across as
“wanting something”.
• You don’t want something, you have something to give!
• So start talking to everyone from the people at the gas station, to the little
league coach, to the local councilman, to the local clergy, and to the
school teachers – just to name a few.
• There is always opportunity to begin a relationship with everyone you meet!

• As you begin to share your message with community leaders,
opportunities to present this message to larger sections of the community
will begin to open up.
• Your reputation will be seen by these leaders and trust will develop.
• As this occurs, you will find yourself speaking to more and more groups of
people because of relationship and reputation.
• The local clergy may want you to speak to their congregations. A
guidance counselor may want you to speak at their school.
• So your relationships will be the key to unlock doors in the community.

• By the time you begin to speak to the community, you will have respect m
because of the relationship with the leaders who are asking you to share
your message.
• Now your message can have a greater impact and a momentum that
otherwise might not have been there.
• Now these groups of people will implement the message in their homes
and their neighborhoods and in their areas of influence.
• It might be a grandmother influencing her grandchildren or a plant worker
influencing their co-workers.
• Once you reach this level, your message is now in more places than you
could have ever achieved on your own.
